FetishFool 0 Posted June 27, 2002 Over the past 3 days, I've bought 6 new games and 1 racing wheel: The Sum of All Fears F1 2002 NASCAR Racing Season 2002 Grand Prix 4 Supercar Street Challenge Le Mans 24hrs MS Precision Racing Wheel I've tried, and quickly uninstalled 5 of the 6 games. The only game that I still play is EA's F1 2002. Â That game rocks! I hate games now. Â F1 2002 is great, but not enough to make me love video games again. So let me ask you this: Â Have you had the same experience? You just HATED every game that you've bought since... Â Let's say... Â Since you bought OPF?? Mister Frag 0 Posted June 27, 2002 Bought another game since OFP? What the heck are you talking about? Snap out of it!
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted June 27, 2002 I always read reviews for games thoroughly before I buy them, so Ive rarely been dissappointed. Of course, few games have actually measured up to expectations the way OFP does. It certainly has raised the bar.
MDRZulu 0 Posted June 27, 2002 GTA3 was cool for a few days or... hours after I bought it. You might like morrowind and this is coming from someone who hates rpg's.
timmy 0 Posted June 27, 2002 did you try the demos of any of those games, i always try demos before buying if possible, or read reviews. The only 2 games ive bought for pc since ofp have been ghost recon, and the expansion pack ghost recon:desert siege. I dont play sp much anymore, but i play mp with my friends almost everyday. ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 27, 2002 yup..demos are alwasy great way to see if the game fits your needs. but for The Sum of All Fears, I saw the demo and was considering downloading it, until i saw word 'Ubi' soft...i knew it was too similar to GR....oh well... FetishFool 0 Posted June 27, 2002 The reviews on all the games were fair. Even the reviews on Sum of All Fears. The demos didn't represent the games enough. They only showed off the graphics, but not the cars or the weapons. I bought Morrowind a while ago. That game is SO crappy! Too much reading, and way too many repeating graphics. "Didn't I see you in the LAST town!?!" And the only reason why I bought Sum of All Fears was because R6-type games aren't usually horrible. They're usually pretty fun for a while. But Sum of All Fears was plain horrible. You barely got to choose what weapons to use.
Die Alive 0 Posted June 27, 2002 Lets see the games that Ive bought since buying OFP last july 2001... OFP Red Hammer (duh! Sim City 3000 (played for 1-2 weeks) Madden 2002 (played for 3-4 weeks, will get back to this fall) Ghost Recon (played for 2 days) Project IGI (bargin bin buy, installed, not played yet) GTA 3 (played 2 weeks on and off) Falcon 4.0 (got it with my new joystick, installed, played once) And I still play NHL 2001 that I had before OFP, right now I'm in my 8th season and my from my original team, only 2 players remain, trades, free agents, new players, my team is so much better now. Before OFP, I used to buy like 1 new game every 2 weeks, even faster if the game I bought was a sucky one. -=Die Alive=-
EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted June 27, 2002 I've bought 2 games since I bought OFP in September 2001. Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Played multiplayer for about 2 weeks. Uninstalled. Reinstalled. Played SP for about a week. Uninstalled. Dungeon Siege: Thoroughly enjoyed for about a week straight, playing in all my free time. Then got bored, and uninstalled. Those are the only games I've bought. A few of the games I've BORROWED since OFP include: Ghost Recon, Empire Earth, Jedi Knight II, Soldier of Fortune 2, some dumb Superhero game, and Morrowind. None of which I played for too long. I was really into Morrowind for a few days but after I formatted my computer I had no urge to reinstall. It's really a great game, where you can do anything, and get really involved, but iut's almost work to play it. You need to put in a LOT of time to get things done, and build your character. I think that OFP has just spoiled me. Now I want ALL my games to be as limitless and fun as OFP. The only games which I have played for such a long time and with as much enthusiasm are StarCraft, Siablo II, and Day of Defeat. And I don't even think about playing those anymore (excluding DoD which I still play reguarly and have been for over a year) OFP is the game of all games, and it's hard to get excited about new games when you set the standard with OFP. Duke_of_Ray 0 Posted June 27, 2002 I bought Deadly Dozen- Ok game, but no multiplayer and to many little annoying things. I am waiting for Deadly Dozen 2 which will have multiplayer. Only bought it becuase I had a gift card. Combat Flight Simulator- Played it very little, only bought it becuase I had gift card. Medal of Honor ALlied Assault- The best game I ever played, never have had so much fun playing a game. MOHAA was to short though so I am wait for Team Assault. NBA2K2- Got it for Christmas, I am in my second season as the Washington Wizards and Jordan is a backup, I am about to go to the NBA finals if I win these next 4 games. RED 0 Posted June 27, 2002 When I get back from my place of work tomorrow I will get Neverwinter nights and OFPR looking forward to that I have bought a load of games that lasted me from 1 day to 4 weeks. Some of these include - SOF2 - Didn't like it Baldurs Gate 2 TOB - Loved it (big RPG fan) Dungeon Siege - Didn't like it (too much hack and slash no tactics) AVP2 - was fun for the first day Ghost Recon - Got bored of it in 40 mins Black and white - Liked it, but seemed child like in some places. And some others which I forget. RED
WKK Gimbal 0 Posted June 27, 2002 Since OFP I've bought these games: Commandos 2 Quickly became repetitive. Knock out guard. Tie up guard. Steal stuff from guard. Hide guard. Knock out new guard... Star Wars JK2 Excellent game! The saberfights where amazing and I really felt like a jedi during the single player campaign. It was just too short and multiplayer is braindead quake3 style. Dungeon Siege Was quite fun for a day or two. Then I had seen it all. Became very very repetitive. Max Payne Like SW JK2 it was an amazing single player experience. But after living through the story once, it has little replay value. One of the better plots and moods in a long time. Finally a game that doesn't have too much childishness over it and dares to be really ugly. Black & White I tried giving my mooh-cow personality disorders but didn't succeed. Then it became boring fast. So now I just sit with my hands in my lap, waiting for something truly great to hit the shelves. I've ordered Neverwinter Nights and hope it will be fun for a good while. I'm mostly of all looking forward to Deus Ex 2. I wish there would be much more games that really bends your mind and sucks you in like Deus Ex did. F*¤#ing hell that game was amazing... Warin 0 Posted June 27, 2002 Star Trek: Bridge Commander It sucked. And it had so much promise. I am surprised that Larry Holland made such a steaming pile of gaming ickiness! His track record indicates so much..and this game was just..bleah. I've installed and uninstalled it three times..each time hoping that it would be more fun and it's just ... not. I just hope Resistance is here tomorrow...

I think the best thing in it was the inlinearity: You can explore the city or base freely and talk with any person you like. The attractive thing in it is that you must figure the situation in the game and make decicions yourself. For example if you want to kill some evil guy instead of taking it as arrested, just do it. It is more like a role game than a first person shooter. I just can't wait till Deus ex 2 comes out. I heard that it uses the new unreal engine and saw some screenies of it, they look very nice! I've always loved that stuff... fancy secret hideouts, biolabs hidden in sewers, mysterious troops from unknown organizations, multinational coorporations bent on world domination, Illuminati, heh .. the list goes on. Actually I think I was too paranoid when playing the game - I was convinced EVERYONE was out to get me, even my pilot  MDRZulu: Deus Ex is a bit aged by now, but still it shouldn't be missed. It's very much worth playing still. You can go here and check it out. cybrid 0 Posted June 28, 2002 I never buy crappy games, any games I buy are thuroughly reserched. How can anyone say that NASCAR 2002 by Pyparus is a crappy game. Its a top notch racing sim right up there with Grand Prix Legends. I guess its just not a game for joe blow gamers.
