konyo 14 Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) I look forward to the release of this addon, so don't take this as a slight against Konyo's fantastic work, but...Everything about this is wrong. The fuselage is not bullet resistant (it's made from aluminum) and rounds will go right through it. Also, the GAU won't work without aircraft power. MOH and COD get this wrong all the time. Thanks for taking your feedback :) Hopefully you will enjoy flying her as much as I do ;) By the way, the bullets do go through the fuselage in that video though? MEU98 1 Posted October 23, 2012 Konyo what do u mean by counter messures in front direction?
konyo 14 Posted October 23, 2012 Konyo what do u mean by counter messures in front direction? I'ts hard to explain, basically the two flare pods at the rear of the chopper has two directions to them. For example look at this model of a MH-47E. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e66/Opsiras/MH-47E/leftside.jpg Notice the top flare pod is facing directly forward to the cockpit, and the one below faces slightly downwards? The flares shoot out at those directions, one straight forward & on slightly downwards :)

Wiki 1558 Posted October 23, 2012 Hey! I've just finished the campaign of MoH WF (which quality was under BF3 - and I didn't really enjoy BF3 campaign, something epic was missing) and I've just watched (again) Act of Valor: both things made me want your chopper much more, as it is used in Act of Valor and MoH WF. Here's another one for you all... Why would there be an Ammo Box below where the Gunners are? :confused_o: Edited October 23, 2012 by konyo
Wiki 1558 Posted October 23, 2012 @konyo: song: If You Seek Amy by Britney Spears? and btw, you may (probably) be disappointed by the MoH WF. I finished the campaign just to say "I did it", but I really didn't enjoy it, no fun, no challenge, it was all "déjà -vu" etc... not worth the price. last but not least: 160th use MH-47E or MH-47G? or both? No, wrong song & wrong artist ;) *cough* B.o.B Ahh, too bad I'm easily pleased :P Should be good enough, will let you know. blackmamb 2 Posted October 23, 2012 Nah, today they use the G, all of them have been upgrades from the Es they've been using before. There's no Es in service anymore, but they've all been transformed into Gs. It's the exact same airframe though, only differences are in avionics. As for why they would put an ammobox there? Hmmm. No Idea.
gatordev 219 Posted October 23, 2012 COD and other games probably get this wrong, but don't kid yourself, Arma does too. Take the BlackHawk wreck, you can use the gun even though the aircraft obviously has not any ounce of power. I guess I've never climbed into the Blackhawk wreck in game. If this is the case, I completely agree, it's wrong. I'd argue Konyo's addon is at a higher level, but honestly, I know we'll all still enjoy it, regardless. I thought the GE ones need engine power while the DillonAero and General Dynamics 134's (seen in MOH/COD) can run off of the battery power? Could be. I don't know because I don't operate with the GAU-17s/134s, but I'm guessing the Chinook battery isn't substantially more powerful than a -60, and getting the gun to spin at speed is probably going to kill the battery pretty damn quick. It's not uncommon to start the APU in a -60 and get a low battery warning light. Robust, they are not. Not completly wrong, the floor can have kevlar plating when beeing used in afghanistan etc. The GAU might still be working depends if the APU still runs. True, but the kevlar "plating" is usually just blankets and, as you said, on the floor, and not on the walls, which is where the gun is mounted. I don't know the -47's electrical system, but yes, it might be able to run on the APU. But after doing multiple rolls and crashing into the side of a mountain (as shown in the video which was recreating the Chinook crash back in ~'05 during Operation Red Wing), the APU probably isn't too functional. Thanks for taking your feedback :) Hopefully you will enjoy flying her as much as I do ;)By the way, the bullets do go through the fuselage in that video though? I didn't mean it as a slight against your addon, so hopefully you didn't take it that way. I just think the quality of what you're doing (and Arma2 in general) is far better than CoD and its clones. Thanks for making toys for us to play with on your personal time. You're right, bullets went through in the video, but I think that was more for show/scripted. Later when you're behind the gun and guys shoot, you seem to be relatively protected (in game). Sorry, I know this is off-topic. I just enjoy a game like Arma 2 more than CoD and MoH and the like. Just my preference.
blackmamb 2 Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) I guess I've never climbed into the Blackhawk wreck in game. :D Yeah, I guess this is not the first idea that comes to mind. I actualy discovered that when I had a wreck placed on the map, and saw an AI dude get into it and start slaughtering people with the minigun. I was like What. The. Hell.
