ARMA 2: OA beta build 86233

Recommended Posts

Big thanks for smuggling that fix still into 1.60 :)

Still have the Tank Smokelaunchers high up my wish list but I think with everything that v1.60 provides, nobody can complain really :))

+1, for me the smokelaucher issue its the last gamebreaking bug remaining. Can't wait for 1.60 :D

Next beta might be the last one then (unless there are some major issues that arise)!

Awesome work. I can't wait for the RC. By the way...any idea if we will be able to uninstall the RC like the current beta's or will we require a full re-install when 1.6 comes?

Thanks

Anyone else having bad results with this build? For me the initial loading is 3-4 times longer than previous build (86218) and lots of HD-activity. After loading the background cutscenes are laggy as well and again with more than normal HD-activity.

Could be something happend to the files on my HD, will do a CHKDSK and report back...

Attached are arma2oa.RPT

I found following:

http://www.dotnetonweb.com/74345:

(0x5ad) error codes are almost always produced by damaged files within the Microsoft Windows OS.

When futher searching I find it strange, though, as 0x5ad error is defined as ERROR_WORKING_SET_QUOTA:

0x5ad,hr 0x000005ad Insufficient quota to complete the requested service.

The page linked above is most likely some advertising scam. :(

My first idea would be to check if you have some space free on the drive, esp. if your page file is OS managed.

Does it mean 1.60RC is tomorrow? Seeing how there's not really anything planned left to fix

Thanks for your replies and I just currently recovered from a "facepalm"!

The long load time (and errors in RPT) was due to my RAM Drive for some reason decided to grab ~2.8 GB out of the ~3.2 GB RAM available in XP 32-bit instead of using PAE. Sorry for contaminating the thread and I will do another "facepalm" before going to bed ;)

1.60 will be epic for sure, now back to test the 86233 build...
