Yay more AI improvements.

Although I would've wished we saw some more of them for infantry.

Thanks for the FSM command. Chernarus Apocalypse is now more diverse and CPU friendly (I think?) than ever before. :)

Could someone just elaborate on this a little more, is this script/mission based or a global config line entry? Also what is FSM? Sorry I have had a brain fart and cant think what it refers to at the moment :)

Not mistaken it stands for finite state machine, various states of behavior by which an AI will select upon certain event triggered.

but yeah, what is the use of disable FSM? for making some AI dumb at far away land from the player location to save CPU cycle?

disableAI "FSM" disables various behavior routines of an AI: basically all it will be capable of doing autonomously is stay still and shoot, and it will follow waypoints in a slavelike fashion. Priceless for cutscenes, precise AI management and saving CPU resources. And zombies.

Thanks for info Celery, I can see the use for it now :)

I can see that as one reason and use.

This build is crashing for me as often as the last one. Tried all -malloc settings all do crash after 40-60 minutes. Sometimes with a BSOD sometimes onli to desktop.

Flashing Triangles on the screen "village sweep" scenario. All very high, aa and pp low. 1920x1080. i7920 oc 4.3 ati 5970+5870 6gb ram 1600 all water cooled! temps are pretty low for how hot is here in SD! CPU around 65 load and gpu around 47 load!

Win 7 64.

No problems in other games.

Ati 10.5 with new ati profile.

I will do more tests and let you know.

Hmm... now THIS is a poser. Generating about two or three FPS less than the last beta in Benchmark E08, but overall performance is, if anything, smoother! (54-54-52 as opposed to 56-58-56)

System is a stock Gateway FX6840-03e, all graphical settings are set to normal, with shadows on "High" and AA and Anistrophic filtering disabled.

New lighting bug regarding A2 content has shown up.

USMC Ambulance shows lit headlights and rear light texture all the time.

usmcambulanceheadlightb.th.jpg

Old one but in the same category:

Streetlamps and lighthouses on Utes and Chernarus don't have light texture and lighthouse has no blend effect while still procucing ambient light.

lightpolebugutes.th.jpg

No mods or ToH in use as always...clean full install!

I'm having a problem starting a listen (local) server with this beta. I go to Multiplayer -> New, and use the default settings to create a LAN server, and the game crashes with the error message, "Config: some input after EndOfFile".

EDIT: Actually, I am getting this with normal 1.59 CO as well. Wtf?

As others have noted in recent betas, the laser target designator is off compared to the crosshair. This image is from Village Sweep:

Edit:

Already filed:

-------------------------

Performance for this beta is about the same as the last (38 fps bench 01, 48/49 fps bench e08).

Seems smooth. I did get a soft CTD (TDR/NVIDIA error) while playing Village Sweep, which is unusual as long as I have ATOC=0, which I did.

No sky artifacts yet.

A2 patched to 1.10.

I've seen this bug for a while (way before this beta). It's definately a bug with the model/model config, not this beta build

Do you mean the game went into a blackscreen with only your cursor showing when pressing ESC (which is a driver crash)?

If it is (which is a known bug with AA2OA and 260-280-295 family) I got that too with this beta although I didn't have any of such problems with any of 8xxxx betas.

But I also don't think that the flashing bug is there.

No, my CTDs are always the same, like this:

What I call CTDs are not "game freezes" exactly. My CTDs suddenly freeze the game momentarily, and then quickly I'm sent to desktop. The game is still running in background with sound, but is inaccessible via Alt-Tab or any other means, and I have to manually kill the process. These are soft crashes - no Windows crash errors are generated - and are nearly always related to Windows TDR errors - 'Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and was recovered.' Again, setting ATOC=0 [usually] stops these CTDs, and I wish BIS could figure out what is going on with that. Others in the forums have had pretty serious problems with ATOC as well.

I didn't get any such CTDs in the last few betas, but malloc=4 did crash me once using 82282.

Also, today with this beta I got an A2 "Reinforcements" crash when loading (resuming) Village Sweep scenario. The savegame was probably post-1.59. That kind of crash NEVER happens for me.

It's very interesting that the black screen CTD you mention is a known issue with 295s. I didn't know that. I don't think I've had that problem.

That's exactly the driver crash I've meant. Except you are being sent to the desktop while I still stay on the black screen

For those of you with the driver crash, does the "Shift+NumPadMinus - flush" trick work?
