wld427 1705 Posted July 3, 2011 It is so old weapons for fight against the superiority US weapons, Takis do not have chance. :) But it is very interesting mod and nice targets pak. :D I think the equipment i am adding to the Taki side, plus whats already in the game will make for a good representation of any modern ex-soviet\russian client state. The Takistani Army uses four which is not very economic. First the NATO 7.62 on the FN Fal, the russian 7.62 on the PKM, the russian 5.45 on the RPK-74 and the NATO 5.56 on the M16A2/M203. Now my request to reduce the number of different calibres: Since you have a very nice FN Mag already included in PRACS could you please add it to the Takistani Extension? I never understood why BIS didn't use them instead of the PKM. If they purchased the FN Fal why should they also get some FN Mag? Second the grenade launcher. Since there is no under slung grenade launcher for the FN Fal in real life and the Takistani Army was supplied by the USA and NATO before 1992, it seams reasonable that they would use the M79. BIS added a nice model to AO but the use of the M203 magazines leads to some problems for the AI. They always claim to be out of ammo, because the M203 magazines are in the secondary weapon slots and they don't recognize them as ammo for their primary weapon. How about adding some new magazines for the M79? One HE grenade, one grenade bag with 12 grenades (could take up three or four slots) and one buckshot grenade for self defence would be nice. Of course all should be magazines for the primary weapon so the Ai doesn’t get confused anymore. Third suggestion: Lennard has made a nice reskin of the FN Fal (see picture). Then i started comparing weaponry of non-western armies. Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Iran, India, pakistan, Venezuala, Colombia, are jsut to name a few larger countries that suffer from this caliber issue. During one of my tours in Iraq we spent alot of time near the Turkish border and those troops had a PKM in thier guard tower, one guy had an Ak47, several had G3s and some even had M-16s. So in the end i think this is one thing that BIS did very well to simulate. the TK army is the closest thing to a complete faction they have given us so far. The purpose of TK extension will simply be to fill a few more gaps in the ORBAT and boost thier firepower a tiny bit. i dont want to revamp thier entire army like i did for PRACS but i want to make them a more viable enemy or a more capable redfor. I always thought they have one battalion/brigade with AKMs and one with M16s or whatsoever. spooky lynx 73 Posted July 18, 2011 If I'm not mistaken, M203 can be combined with FAL through special adapter (which is produced since 80's IMO). I even remember such model in some mod (FFAA?). Also I doubt that 5,45 mm AKs (especially soviet ones) are widely spread across middle-eastern and south-asian countries. Maybe ex-DDR or romanian rifles... Hopefully this won't turn into another PRACS, for your sake not mine as it seemed to cause a lot of stress and ungratefulness form demanding people. I'd been keen to see some CDF reskins as you mentioned, i consider the CDF one of the best sides BIS created and would be cool to see them have a MTLB and migs. I'd sign up to help out, but I don't know if I've quite got the skills and/or time you'd want in a tester. I mean, I've done similar sorts of things before, but with school coming up soon-ish and my work schedule, I wouldn't be much of a presence on a 24/7 basis.
