tom3kb 15 Posted June 1, 2011 I think not its to complicated for console players :) Just kidding who knows ofp was made for xbox to.
SWAT122 10 Posted June 1, 2011 I think ARMA control and editor is way to complicated for X360 orPS3
PuFu 4600 Posted June 1, 2011 A3 will surely be PC exclusive. Doubtfully a future version will make to the consoles - to restrictive platform atm - there could be a chance on xbox720 or PS4 (those are at least 5 years away though). TBH, i actually hope BIS will stay with PC only. there are way too few PC exclusive developers out there
demonized 20 Posted June 1, 2011 Sony has already anounced a PS4, and i bet xbox willl not stand by idle either, some representative spoke of xbox 720 already last year. OFP worked pretty nicely for xbox, with both gameplay and editor. Had to rely on editor editing without custom scripts ofc. Maybe BIS could release a xbox keyboard/mouse with its console version, (im xbox fanboy)
celery 8 Posted June 1, 2011 Arma 3 will be on the upcoming Nintendo.
metalcraze 290 Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) ArmA would have to be harshly dumbed down to fit on consoles. And I'm not talking about console hardware which is always outdated when a console comes out Console controls aren't fit for shooting small targets more than 50-100m away with all the ballistics and recoil of AA (which OFP didn't have - that's why OFPE managed to come out on consoles and even then it had to be dumbed down to some degree too). Among other things. If you really want to know how AA will look on consoles play OFP:DR and OFP:RR Bottomline: there is a reason why console shooters are barely different from a shooting gallery. avibird 1 155 Posted June 1, 2011 I think ARMA control and editor is way to complicated for X360 orPS3 If you have been around here for a bit you know that I was the Biggest advocator for a console port for ARMA2. The developers worked hard on it but could not get it to run right, the ship has gone on that. OFP THE CONTROLS AND EDITOR worked great. The editor was limited no scripts/mod but you could make great mission with it. My stand now is no console port :butbut: 180 TURN. Most console players still want run/gun games and without someone else to put out the money BOHEMIA will not go down that road. ARMA3 should stay on PC only!

Yes it may need to be dumbed down but not with the ballistics and recoil look at Battlefield 3 you can shoot enemies at 1000m with head shots and all you see is the glare from there sniper scopes or a small dot running.
