Trauma.au 10 Posted May 26, 2012 So can we assume that shooting underwater as seen in the lighting showcase means there will be supercavitating ammo? Or do BIS just not watch Mythbusters

Trauma.au 10 Posted May 26, 2012 o.O... yea hence supercavitating ammo (a real advancement in technology), the laws of physics change for no one.

Trauma.au 10 Posted May 26, 2012 Underwater rifles already exist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Underwater_rifles Yea I saw those, seems more like a glorified spear gun to me. You would have to model new magazines at the minimum to incorporate that and they would be near useless out of water. Supercavitating ammo seems like a far better option, just a new mag type. More info.
rye1 22 Posted May 26, 2012 So he's basically saying they only go around 15-60m underwater depending on your calibre choice, depth and sea or water conditions. Out of water dramatically crap in comparison. They would be cool to see though - MEA - Multi-environment ammunition.

rye1 22 Posted May 26, 2012 What do they claim? Conventionally underwater cartridges are useless out of water.
Colossus 2 Posted May 26, 2012 ... More info. I assume when he mentions cavity he means something like this (34m17s)
Trauma.au 10 Posted May 26, 2012 What do they claim? Conventionally underwater cartridges are useless out of water. He said it will have spin imparted on it the normal way but be stabilized by cavitation under water. They claim you can hit a target 1000m away when firing from 1m underwater. Look at the page I linked for stats.
dekster 1 Posted May 26, 2012 About the underwater stuff, I remember in Delta Force 2 you had a special underwater weapon. -edit: this one http://world.guns.ru/assault/rus/aps-underwater-e.html and the Hk P11-

Maio 293 Posted May 30, 2012 greek special forces confirmedhttps://twitter.com/KarelMoricky/status/207801276724019200 Nope... The best we can get from that is that the Greek resistance will still use former Greek military tactics, acronyms, etc
Corvinus 35 Posted May 30, 2012 Ok, guys, so I stumbled upon this video: Apparently, there is a footage from Arma 3 with some guy in Iranian uniform performing HALO jump. It looks like he have something resembling Glock pistol on his thigh. (I wonder if I'm posting in the right thread).

antoineflemming 14 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) I, at least, know about this video. I did not add the Glock to the list as this is VBS 2 footage. Those few clips are NOT VBS2 footage... They just stuck ArmA3 footage in their video :p Clearly, the Iranian soldier is Halo dropping over Limnos... He even has the FN F2000 and British Assault Pack. None of that is in VBS2. It's definitely ok to add Glock to the list. And, honestly, even the footage of the divers swimming right before the halo dropping scene is from ArmA3. That wrecked ship looks just like the one that appears in several screens, including the most recently released diver screen. It even looks like it might have been RTT on the diver's goggles... Mr. Charles 22 Posted May 30, 2012 Yup, check the Mk20 weapon selection in upper right corner. VBS2 still uses the A1 UI.
