Arma 3: Confirmed features | info & discussion

Recommended Posts

I saw these things there in the presentation as well but just thought they were birds...

But looking at your picture now and taking the indicator into consideration, it looks more like a Raven UAV which would actually make a lot of sense since these small UAV's deployable on squad level are a confirmed feature. :)

Oh... and there I was hoping we will get quad rotor UAV's armed with LMG's

Good find both of you.

I've been curious about how much object interaction there will be, concerning sitting down on chairs... to Weapon Resting. At times, players may want to sit down or use objects... maybe pick objects up and move them...

As a whole, exactly how much will players be able to do with interaction???

It's all possible with Java, it's just a matter of time now.

I think it would be a nice accessory to open car doors and sit down on chairs and lay down... you know... just basic things we all do...

You don't like java? xD

Doubt it's that. You can already program interactions with objects, like picking up and moving chairs, without the need for java.

AFAIK all game manipulation is done through commands provided by BIS, wether thats commands written in sqf/sqs or the same commands coming from a package provided by BIS. Setpos is still going to be setpos, wether you use java or not. Its not like we can suddenly directly communicate with the engine itself, it doesnt allow for new things that couldnt possibly be done before.

I think that java is just going to provide a more familiar syntax for a lot of newcomers, as well as the possibility to make large projects easier.

I doubt its going to be very practical for the script snippets most of us use.

EDIT: Also, the possibility to use your experience gained by scripting in A3 in the real world, which i really like.

I have a theory. Possibly a few of the guns we´ve seen so far were actually meant for the Czech Army DLC and not actually Arma 3, but were put in as placeholders for the actual weapons (such as the 6.5mm assault rifle) last year when the first screenshots were presented.

If that is true, it´s possible the list of confirmed weapons/vehicles will have to be revised.

Are you talking about the Scorpion or the Alca? Both had signs of modularity functions.

You are wrong

Those weapons been created specially for ArmA 3 - they are not placeholders or CZ DLC weapons for A2

also new Scorpion is not used by Czech Army.

But it will be included in "Army of the Czech Republic" DLC:

"Authentic Weapons - Pick from a range of new weapons, including those developed with Česká Zbrojovka a.s.: CZ 805 BREN, CZ Scorpion EVO III and CZ 75 PHANTOM"

Source.

I bet the decision wasn't to include pre-planned ACR (Army of the Czech Republic) weapons in ArmA3 but to include ArmA3 Czech weapons in the new DLC.

Nothing wrong with some provincialism, eh? :p

It is, The Castle Guard (which is part of the ACR) has about 600 of them.
