Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted June 14, 2011 That's an innovative approach, nice to read about this being researched. One would probably need to look into the multiple turrets question while at it. Plus, in this case it'd not only be the train's turrets, but the supporting vehicles that were transported on it (TKS/TK-3 tankettes and FT-17 for ahead recon). So, to perform the recon these would need the ability to be loaded, unloaded... a lot of work as it seems... I think I heard something about HiP doing a multi-turret tank, maybe that could be applied here? As for the supporting vehicles, that's just a matter of attachto or even a variation on Norrin's fantastic cargo script. Trains are something I would love to have (as we are working on a 100x100km terrain + it's military/country etc.) just for the added logistics of having them, so I haven't given up just yet. :) If we find a usable solution I'll be sure to let you know. topas 1 Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) Thanks in advance ;) Although, it's not a high priority for us - we did not even think of any trains until today. Martin's model popping out of nowhere just ignited my imagination :D Fingers crossed and good luck in your efforts! ----- about the multi-turret tanks, we already have one, the T-28 in the mod. And to be honest we can only get the main and one of the smaller turrets to work. The third one just can't work properly... topas 1 Posted June 15, 2011 Thanks for these words. Don't know if this is serious or a bit sarcastic (as I know you could count polish-themed ww2 mods on one hand :p) but our team takes this as compliment from a quality adddonmaker ;)
FKPLACE 10 Posted June 17, 2011 Nice topas, it will be the best Poland WW2 Mod ever in the www! Also the first Mod for Poland in WW2 ever since the era of OFP...
dimitri_harkov 10 Posted June 17, 2011 If you ever do a map, I'd recommend the citadel of Brest-Litovsk :) (unlikely, but hey: that would be a nice place, and it saw action 3 times in the war) Keep it up! Cheers, D.
topas 1 Posted June 17, 2011 Oh, Brest.... Already on our wishlist. Have given it a lot though many times already.. It'd be good as it would be an opportunity for missions that'd allow the usage of Germans, Poles and Soviets on a single map. And as you mentioned it'd have a good reusability for other mods out there. There's absolutely no problem with reference material, as we have access to a database of 1919-1939 army maps. One would just spend a year on creating the map itself, not to mention custom content for it, mainly the fortress... http://www.someplaces.spb.ru/Belorus/Brest/Image/plan.jpg http://www.radzima.org/pl/foto/23840.html If we (hopefully, once we) start a map we'd think smaller, a lot smaller for a start. Maybe Westerplatte,,, But this would limit the usability to infantry action only, probably better for MP. lots of fortified positions and such. Now imagine a 7-day long MP event that would recreate the defense of the penisnula, wow :)
RT_NR 10 Posted June 18, 2011 Hi everyone, i've got a question. I see that you intend to add the Soviets. If you're going to do it, maybe you should make soldiers from KOP (Border Protection Corp.)? The most important difference would only be adding a cap of KOP: I hope that this time, we will see this mod. :)

sudayev 27 Posted June 19, 2011 Hi, will you include some bunkers, trenches, and other fortification stuffs so the player will be able to create own battlefields and scenes. I'm not sure if you remember this excellent OFP WW2 fortifications pack made by Rayhard, having something this for the mod would be really awesome.
topas 1 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Yes, although I don't know about the trenches yet I can confirm that we will have several polish bunkers and MG-nests (Schrony Bojowe) plus some fortified guard outposts (Wartownie) as from Westerplatte. Additionally barriers and anti-tank blocades. edit had to consult with the team, and yes - trenches can be confirmed as from now on ;) Edited June 19, 2011 by topas
topas 1 Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) 1Elpt77Inuk A sight that was not to be witnessed for the last 72 years...A 7TP tank rolling. First public presentation of a replica that has been built using (among other) restored original parts found on different '39 battlefields. It now has an original gearbox and will be soon armed with an original 37mm Bofors gun. The tracks though come from a T-26.A small but significant part of our military history has been brought back to life when it was believed to be gone forever. The last and only remaining piece of the original 7TP tank was once discovered to be stored somewhere deep on the premises of the Kubinka armor museum (Soviet Union) in mid-1980's. Soon after this it has been scrapped, although many official requests by the Polish Army Museum were made to acquire it (we have offered the best preserved and complete exemplar of some Soviet pre WW2 artillery tower if I remeber correctly). Unfortunately an almost same fate came upon the last remaining C7P tractor also discovered to have survived until the recent years in Russia... It has been ripped apart and used as a basis for a T-26 replica (a sloppy one I might add, with BMP-1 wheels....)Can't wait to see it in person, probably on one of the many reenactment events to come this summer.:bounce3: Edited June 21, 2011 by topas
abs 2 Posted June 21, 2011 It's hard to believe that men actually fought in those! (Of course, I'm looking at it from today's perspective, with the Merkavas, the Leopards, etc...) :) Good to see that some part of Polish history has been salvaged. LODU 19 Posted June 21, 2011 I do not have the time to create specific characters, but I can give you one or two models that I made for my pleasure and that match the japanese army in 1944. With a little work, you must be able to transform all in your own characters. They have 5 lods and deform perfectly. Contact me by pm, for the future, if you agree. Regards. topas 1 Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) It's the brand new legs and some quickly made temporary textures that are there ;) The gear is standard infantry issue and will be changed completely (only the gasmask can is ok there) Our horsemen will get leather straps, french-issue M1915 Adrian helmets, sabres and a lot more.. Everything (but the Adrians) is already modeled and textured, we'll just need to compile it into a new unit (+several variations). What is shown above is just our default infantry units (private and sergeant) with legs replaced and a Mauser added to their backs ;) Edited June 23, 2011 by topas
stephsen 79 Posted June 23, 2011 ooh thats realy nice topas ...i love the detailed models and textures ..superb:clap: whats the current status from the mod ? Greetz stephsen
topas 1 Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Well, to be completely honest, it's more polish than polished atm. :p We're adding a lot of new content now, so the stuff made before took a back seat for a while. Hopefuly we'll sort out the infantry issues soon (mapping) and finish the weapons (I shown the handhelds sometime ago, need to texture the most of it). The above donation made quite a stir too. We will need to rework the whole infantry pack to include new models, implement the new elements to the existing ones, work on several new different variations. After completing the polish guys we need to move to the German side. We have everything modeled, and only some of the stuff textured (actually only the basic M36 uniform http://c.imagehost.org/view/0545/M36_o2 http://c.imagehost.org/view/0657/M36_o21 http://a.imagehost.org/view/0383/M36_o22 http://c.imagehost.org/view/0846/M36_o23 These are very old pics. No gear added to the models yet, Y-straps painted on the texture, so this gives only an idea on the detail level we aim at, nothing more. Oh, and Jaksa began to model the Soviet infantry recently.
