Call for ban on MOH. Will ArmA franchise be next?

Recommended Posts

I still haven't seen or heard anyone say they want to kill simulated Taliban soldiers just because they're from southwest Asia.

This thread is full of anti American freudian slips. I don't even think America was mentioned in that article. And if secretary of state is the same in the UK as the states its not even a publicly appointed position. No voting or campaigning what so ever. No laws were changed or broken. He simply asked people not to sell it and explained why he is offended by it. Something he has every right to do. Man, the hypocrisy from some of you guys...

Pretty much what I was about to type. Thankfully, you're gentle.

Actually the Secretary of State for Defence is an elected member of Parliament so he is actually voted into a position where he can then be appointed by the Prime Minister, and if he were to lose his parliamentary seat then it would be unthinkable for him to continue as secretary of State for Defence. So his position does very much depend on the public vote.

I don't agree with the British guy but the representative of MoH isn't exactly being truthful. No one has to be the Taliban. You can just do it like America's Army does and Delta Force. Both sides are NATO but when either side is looking at their enemy, their enemy appears as Taliban. Not that it should really matter. I just wanted to throw a creative solution out there.

Gamers are apparently instructed to stop the coalition "at all costs", and receive points for every allied troop they kill.

Dr Fox said: "It's shocking that someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban. At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands.

[/Quote]

He's forgetting one important factor,

that people could play as the British forces too.

Let me rephrase what he said from the British forces side in MOH(Not meaning to disrespect British people just making point why game is a game and should not be politicized)

Gamers are apparently instructed to stop the Taliban "at all costs", and receive points for every taliban they kill.

Dr xoF said: "It's shocking that someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the British Forces. At the hands of the British Forces, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands.

And the Taliban would now ban this game too!

Tuuuuuupid is what stupid does.

Silly Dr. Fox.

Shouldn't he be doing something useful, rather than talking about video games.

Like Franze said

It's all about generating political capital or to distract from more important issues.

The updated version of Medal Of Honour, due out in October, lets gamers "attack" brave British Forces in Afghanistan using AK47 rifles.

They just had to use the words "fury", "brave", and mention "AK47 rifles", didn't they? Shock therapy at it's finest.

Why do papers like The Sun exist? Hell, why do people read such garbage?

Edit: Oh lol, Andy McNab thinks it's insensitive? Jeeze, I have a lot of respect for that guy, but...

Stupid people buying stupid newspapers written by stupid journalists feeding and believing the propaganda of stupid politicians, tabloids are good for one thing and that's for training your puppy to poop in the right place (used to be two things but they stopped using newspaper to wrap around your fish and chips).

My 10 week old puppy has more common sense than all the politicians in the world put together and she sniffs her poo after she's done it.
