Dear Art of War contestants, New Bonus Category Owing to popular demand, we have decided to create a new category for screenshots in the Art of War contest! This bonus category has no set theme or subject and can include previously published work. However, it does have a separate, non-tiered prize structure. The creators of the six best screenshots will receive an Arma 3 t-shirt and a limited edition Arma 3 silver medal, alongside a Steam key for a back catalog of Bohemia Interactive titles. As with the winning and selected entries for the 2D artwork category, winners will have their submissions exhibited in-game, in a virtual gallery showcase. In addition, unlike the other categories, there will be no nomination of any finalists - only winners. Furthermore, participants are invited to submit their entries via Twitter, using the #Arma3ArtofWar hashtag, or direct by email. Alternatively, you can submit your entry using the Submission Form. If your screenshot is chosen for the gallery, or if you are a winner, we will contact you with a direct message on Twitter or by email (depending on your submission method). Entries in this category will be judged by Bohemia Interactive developers. Regrettably, it may not be possible to display all screenshots or artworks submitted in the Art of War DLC. Similarly, entries in the 2D artwork category must be on the set theme in order to be considered. If you're interested in entering this category, please check the Contest Rules here and take a moment to read through the requirements below: Content Requirements Screenshots must be taken in Arma 3. Post-processing and any additional edits using image editing software are acceptable. Technical Requirements Screenshots should be in a high resolution (1280x720 px or higher) Screenshots can be submitted by: Posting on Twitter with the hashtag #Arma3ArtofWar. Emailing us at artofwar@bohemia.net. Using the Art of War contest Submission Form, linked here. Ideally, please do not add vignette effects or strong overlays (such as interlacing) to your entries, if you hope to have them featured in the Arma 3 Art of War DLC's virtual gallery. If submitting via the Submission Form, the image file(s) should be contained in a single folder, labeled 'Screenshot'. Screenshots and the 2D Artwork Category In addition to the above, we are also accepting screenshots for the 2D artwork category. Please note, that the theme of 'International Humanitarian Law in future conflict' is still required. Screenshot entries that are sent to us which do not meet this theme will automatically be entered into the bonus category, so you will still have a chance of winning a prize. Once again, good luck to everyone taking part and we look forward to seeing your entries!

Dear Art of War contestants, Broken Links After viewing our first batch of submissions for the contest, we have noticed that many entries have incorrect or inaccessible links. Although we have tried to encourage the validation of these, we recognize that it is very easy to copy and paste an erroneous URL. Fortunately, there is still plenty of time to check and amend your entries! But please, do ensure we can access them, preferably by logging out of your hosting site and verifying each link separately. Here is a quick summary of the problems we have encountered so far: Incorrect links Restricted access (e.g., permissions required to access submission, especially Google Drive) Generic Google Drive links, referring back to non-specific users (e.g., https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive) Links to incorrect Google File documents Empty submission folders (not a problem if you're aware! Submissions can be placeholders) In addition, we are noticing that most of our entries are not being submitted correctly. Of course, we will do our best to retrieve your data, but to ensure your entry is considered, be sure to read through the Contest Rules thoroughly, particularly the section giving information for submissions. Better yet, you can even use our submission templates. There are different templates for each category. Please refer to the image at the bottom of this post to see how your entries should look. For further information on sharing documents, please refer to Google Drive's dedicated help page. Not Following the Theme Finally, we would like to remind you that the theme of 'International Humanitarian Law in Future Conflict' for the 2D art category is mandatory. Sadly, we have received some very nice artwork, but several submissions do not engage with the theme at all and will consequently not be considered for a prize. Similarly, it may not be possible to include them in our virtual gallery. If you are struggling to think of a concept for the contest's theme, you may find inspiration in the Helpful Links thread in the Contest Resources forum. If you would like to submit an entry but are not sure if it meets the theme's criteria, please do feel free to email us at artofwar@bistudio.com. Some examples of subjects relating to the contest theme might include: Autonomous weapon systems and loss of human control. Cyber warfare and its impact on civilian infrastructure (such as hospitals, electricity grids). New weapon technologies: legal and ethical considerations. Opportunities to increase respect for International Humanitarian Law using advanced technology. For example, an image showing a soldier, firing their weapon, without any further context, would not be appropriate for the theme. However, a soldier firing their weapon at civilians, whilst also being monitored by a humanitarian reconnaissance drone, to enforce the laws of war, would. Good luck everyone - we're really excited by what we've seen so far, and can't wait to see what else you will come up with!

rules ** Rules for the SQUADS & FANPAGES section - READ BEFORE POSTING! **
BohemiaBeck posted a topic in ARMA 3 - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
Please be aware of the following rules and guidelines that apply to this forum section (Arma 3 Squads and Fanpages): One thread per squad/unit. The one and only exception: if your unit is active in multiple games (e.g. ARMA 2 & 3) then you can maintain separate threads in each of the relevant squad/fanpages sections. Note that different branches of the same unit do not count separately and thus may not have their own individual threads. [*]Announcements in your thread may be posted no more frequently than once every two weeks. That means any new posts in your thread may be created no less than 14 days apart. If you post too early, there's no guarantee that the post will be approved (or when). Its contents may be added to the previous post, or it might just disappear. Announcement posts must contain actual event info, training announcements, new server details or similar news. Simply bumping the thread for the sake of moving it to the top is not allowed. You may edit the existing posts in your thread at any time, as often as you want. If you have to announce something sooner than two weeks after the previous post, edit that post to add the details. [*]No discussions are allowed inside squad threads. Any discussions in threads will be deleted without warning. Users are advised to contact thread authors directly (e.g. via PM) if they have questions. Thread authors, make sure to provide sufficient contact details, as well as links to your website/forums. If you see people posting in a squad/fanpage thread, please use the report function so that their posts can be removed, then contact the user via PM if necessary. Do not respond inside the thread! [*]Absolutely no thread bumping! (That basically means all posts in your thread must comply with rules #2 and #3.) [*]All the usual forum rules apply here too. Including the 100KB image size rule, so make sure to double-check your squad logos, banners etc. [*]All threads must advertise an existing squad or fanpage, and you must be authorized to post about it. In other words, you may only post here to advertise your own squad/page or with permission of the owner/founder. Accordingly, you may not create threads to discuss other people's squads or pages. [*]Do not create a new thread if you are merely looking for a squad. That's what > this thread < is for. The same applies if you're looking for people to form a new squad - please use the aforementioned thread. INFO: This forum is pre-moderated. That means your posts must be approved by a moderator before they appear. Advertising your squad or fan page here at the Bohemia Interactive Forums is a privilege, not a right. Failure to comply with any of the rules listed above may result in your thread being closed or deleted and your posting privileges for this forum section being revoked. Many thanks to @maddogx for these original and clear rules -
Make Arma Not War - Rules Update
Korneel posted a topic in Arma 3 - MAKE ARMA NOT WAR CONTEST - NEWS
Based on public feedback, we made two small but important changes to the Make Arma Not War contest rules: We rephrased the "Registration" section to make it clear that Bohemia Interactive does not intend to publish or adapt the contest entries (it will always remain the IP of their respective author). We're now also allowing contestants to benefit from the unique functionalities of the Community Based Addons (CBA). However, note that CBA is still the ONLY third-party addon which is allowed. The updated rules can be found here. -
Hi everyone, I'm working on Scar-H, will follow the Scar-L and the other member of the family. https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/960x540q90/7/198i.png (208 kB) But I have a problem in texturing; I'm using Blender to unwarp and a place the texture then import it (.obj) in Oxygen, no problem for the moment. But when I try it in Arma III, I have a error message :" Can't load the texture " So I do something wrong ( "you don't say ..." ) but what ? This is how I proceed : _Apply texture in blender with a PNG or JPEG image _Export the textured weapon in.Obj _Convert the Jpeg or PNG in a .paa format with the same name and put it in the data file of wepaon. _use Oxygen _use binPBO personal edition Could you please tell me what am I wrong ? PS: This isn't a import from ARMA II in ARMA III. 2 or 3 mods offer already a scar but i'm trying tho have the most accurate representation of the FN SCAR(belgium).
