Dedicated server flooding the RAM after mission start
auge103 posted a topic in ARMA 3 - SERVERS & ADMINISTRATION
I've got a little problem with my dedicated server and probably need a small hint on how to fix it. This is the starting situation: - Windows Server 2016 - running A3 stable dedicated x64 - with the mission Domination!A3 3.90 from Xeno - having a headless client connected - and with the ACE3 and RHS mods as well as ASR AI 3. - Important part of the startparameters: " -maxMem=8192 -cpuCount=8 -enableHT -hugepages -filePatching -bandwidthAlg=2 " So all in all, nothing out of the ordinary. However, this is my problem: Whenever I start the dedicated server and the mission, the servers ram fills up in the following hours - ignoring the "maxMem" parameter - until my virtual machine reaches its maximum (Arma3 is at 35GB at this point), then fills the pagefile until the system comes to a complete halt and gets unresponsive. This is the ram filling up over time (and manual Arma shutdown at the very end): The strange thing is that the mission is absolutely playable until the very end when the host runs out of ram. I can conntect to it, I can play on it and nothing is lagging at all. My question for now is: How can I find out the reason for this behaviour and how to stop it. Is there any tool / script / resource to see what exactly is filling up the ram? Or is it only possible to unload the mods one by one and see which may be the cause for this mess (if at all) ? That probably would take days, because the ram is filling up too slow for a quick test. I already talked to the mission creator and he mentioned that maybe one of the mods could be the problem. But as I just said, testing this could take days, if its mod related. -
memory leak Arma 3 Memory Leak 2018 (Aug) Is there a fix?

Does anyone know how to fix the Arma 3 Memory Leak bug where playing the for like 30-40 min and frame rate drops to like 20-30 fps. It's been really annoying and hampering with mission making. Hopefully some of Devs see this and respond. I've tried every option from using memory allocator to unparking the cores to putting on low settings. My Specs - i7-3537U @2.00GHz 2.00 GHz 12.0 GB RAM 64-bit OS x64 processor GeForce GT 735M Windows 8.1 -
Hello there! My problem only consist on Arma 3. I've heard people tell me it is a memory leak but i am not one hundred percent sure. My game about 5 minutes after playing freezes my computer and goes through a sound loop (repeats same sound) If i leave it long enough a blue screen comes up and says fatal memory error. But i just turn my computer off and it is fine. It has been happening since last update. I figured if i stopped playing for a month or two it would fix. It has not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ps: i have submitted a support ticket to Bohemia in hopes of an answer.

EDIT: Disregard my posts in this topic. This issue was my fault, not the updates. I had set a permanent swap file in windows too low, I accidentally forgot to add a zero for the Min/Max setting. It was set to 1400MBs. That explains the low memory error. No more errors. Feel free to delete this entire thread mods. I'll add another post to the end of this. I'm wondering if anyone else is have low memory errors after the 1.66 update? I've been playing ArmA 3 all year, and I even added another 4GBs of Corsair CAS 4.4.4.12 memory a month ago. No issues with any of my other games. Now all the sudden, after v1.66 every time I play ArmA 3 I get a windows low memory error when I tab out. And if I keep playing the game, my video driver starts to unload itself and the screen (in game) jumps down to software rendering. Then, as soon as I exit ArmA back to windows, everything goes back to normal. Could there be a memory leak in the new update? Again, no issues with any other game, and I ran a memory test for 5 hours after I added it and it passed. would someone be kind enough to please explain step by step how to submit error reports to BIS? I've seen the links, but I'm not sure how the error page functions, or how the registration works. 'virtual memory', a often missunderstood concept ...
fred41 posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
... just found this statement in latest SITREP #00166: From user reports, it looks like problems happens, when virtual memory used by arma process is 3000-3500MB. Considering the fact that each user process on windows, has its own virtual address space and that arma is still a 32 bit process, it seems natural that such problems are related to the limitation of 32 bit address space. Even if the total 'mapped' virtual memory is still some hundreds MB below the limit of 4096MB, it is more likely that a request for a larger block of memory fails later, simple because there is no continous block of virtual address left, large enough to map the requested ammount (fragmentation of address space). This seems not to be fully understood and i hope my hint will help to rethink the current 'bug hunting' approach. A recommended tool for address space analysis is VMMAP: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/vmmap.aspx Regards
