I haven't seen or know how AS maps work, but the big advantage SSAO would have is you don't need those texture maps loaded and thus less rap + faster loading/streaming.

LOL No No that was somebody being retarded on voice Comm. I heard it 2. Most those guys disable voice comm during install, that's why they did not hear it.The night before it was somebody trying to rap (I got a good laugh out of that 1). Due to my computer, my game loads pretty fast and the spanish/rap would quit when most of the people were still loading. I tried to compare when the noise started to when people entered the briefing room but was not able to since 4 or 5 people entered within 2 secs of each other. Looking awesome so far, as far as the big stuff is concerned. But I kind of miss the "small stuff", like * Proper artillery flares (burn time, HOBs, smoke effects, wind drift, descent speed, illumination power (and proper colors). * Proper HC smoke (fake it with a big cloud like todays smoke arty, plenty of smoke grenades look aweful. Also here burn time, wind drift, weather effects (rain), view blocks). * Proper WP smoke (again fake it, but prolong the damage time, and make airburst delivery look nice :)) * HE VT (airburst) fusing (each fuse (say 2m, 7m, and 20m) have distinct damage and radius capability, but also distinct sound (bigger 'snap' with altitude due to low obstruction)) * Copperhead with PRF code and a weather based (overcast value would suffice) footprint (circular also sufficient). * SADARM without MP locality issues. Other stuff I thought about while watching the videos and reading the thread: * Be careful about splitting up groups for incoming reaction patterns. May brake missions based on counts, and may cause breaking the 144 group limit. Keeping formation would be any unit in the soup's least concern :) If they are inside the damage zone, they should run for their life to get out of hit, then hit the dirt. Wouldn't normal commands combined with doStop or similar aid with this? * Reaction to flares would be get down, scan towards the flares (or already known enemy positions), and lay still. The tracers talked about are dim tracers, but I doubt a rocket engine would be visible only through NVGs. Regular "tracers" would probably be better. My biggest concern however, is multiplayer. How does that many DPICM submunitions and dud handling work with a lot of players? I tried something similar with Arma1, and everytime it was used on our server with more than two people, server would go 1 FPS and stay that forever. I'm guessing for airburst WP, you would have to use a similar technique for each pellet, even if actual resulting smoke would be generated similar to todays WP. IMHO having technical skills on an instrument is definitely an advantage but it's not all. Music don't have to be technical for being good, if it touches you by the very heart than I don't care if it's technical or not. I listened for years only fusion or progressive rock. I started playing Rock music, from there I went to play Blues. The blues got me nearer to black music, after I was done with the blues I listened a lot to soul and funky music from their I went to Jazz and after that fusion, but in the end I turned back to rock music. I like to play nearly all styles. but when working together with my buddies than we like to use the kiss principle "keep it simple and stupid" I played once in band where we played a lot of Hip Hop Trip Hop, RAP. It was a nice experience because I never played one single fill or drum roll. It was all based on groove. I liked it because my drumkit was very small. Only kick- snare drum Hihat and a couple of cymbals, that was all. One of my favourite artist is definitely Frank Zappa and Joe's garage is my favourite album but there are all very unique. Zappa played always with extraordinary musicians. Hell, even Steve Vai felt his vibe. Vai one day decided to send Frank a transcription of one of Franks song. Zappa admitted that even he wasn't capable of transcribing the whole song. The next following weeks Steve Vai started to play with Zappa and you can here that very well on his first own release "Flexable". In any case I can only repeat myself music is a personal taste thing. Period @Kremec unfortunately I never really got into country or bluegrass. Hm, can´t get it to work. I changed the values for man class Man: Land, saved it as config.ccp, pbo´ed it (all with the eliteness tool) and put it in an addon folder, no change of third person view ingame. Tried it with/without the beta and the main addon folders, still no luck. Any ideas what Im doing wrong here? :confused: EDIT: Just tried rapify (.ccp to .bin, right?) within eliteness and I get an "Line 22 rap : missing inheritence class" error.

Hi all Brand new to "ARMA 2" having initially given it a wide berth due to the reports of bugs and my suspicion that it's specs would be a little too rich for my PC in any case. But having given into temptation I'm thrilled to say that it runs beautifully on the rig, far better than I have any right to expect. :D Sure I've found a few buggy niggles already, transport heli's that want to land on top of buildings, that kind of thing, but nothing that wouuld be a shock to anyone who played the original "ARMA" (or the addon) and nothing (so far) which is too much of a problem providing you follow the golden rule of "save often". So far "ARMA2" is proving to be a really nice surprise, not only in the unexpectedly smooth performance on my machine, but also the change in the game mechanics. I'd not really read about the game extensively before taking the plunge, so I'm really only now discovering the clever way it handles multiple objectives in the early missions and now at "Razor 2" it seems to have turned into a bit of a sand pit. Excellent! Then of course on top of that...it sure is purdey! But enough blarney already, I should be telling you why I'm writing. :) As I mentioned above I've just reached "Razor 2" and have reached a point where I'm not so much "stuck", as just not sure how best to proceed. Having spoken to the officer at the local base and had the three crosses marked on my map, then spoken to his local man and resisted the temptation (in the face of his rudeness) to tell him how cr** his army is. I decided to take my time rather than rush in all guns blazing, so ignoring the crosses I followed rude guys hot tip and flew over to the village.... um..... "Canttrememberovich", where I helped Mr Olegich with his pesky invader problem. In return he told me how great I was (natch) and then suggested that I return to "Electrozadvask" and check out the Power Plant. (Time to call in the transport. Here's a nice open area, come pick us up in the middle of this huge field please. Ah, here he comes.... erm... why is he hovering over that brick shack at the edge of the village? Um... he's definitely not got space to squeeze his rotor blades into that little....... oh dear. ) Having reached the Power Plant I found it deserted with the exception of a chap marked "Security Guard" who is standing alone and resolute by the closed gate. He won't talk to us although we're guns at ease and I feel a little sorry for him. I mean his co workers not only left him behind when they shipped out, but I'm guessing they didn't even tell him they were leaving! I reckon they snuck out of one of those big holes in the wall at the back while he stood with his back to them and I bet they snickered while they did it! Basts! I searched the power plant from top to bottom. I climbed stairs, I went up ladders, I poked around on roofs and I spent ages staring at an electric cable running from an antenna atop one building, following it along trying to sniff out a possible secret entrance to a cellar which there appears to be windows for, but which presumably does not really exist. Eventually I came up mostly empty on the clue front, except in one of the out buildings I did find a Golden AK47, which looked fairly impractical as a weapon for anyone who'd rather stay camouflaged, so I suspect that before I arrived they were actually filming a GANGSTA RAP video here and just forgot some of their props. So that's where this Badger is at so far and based on this short "paws on" I have the following questions which I hope you'll be able to offer me wisdom with. It's been a tall order searching the forums for this topic already covered, without falling into spoilers I don't want. Even being really careful I already know things I'd rather not at this point, though of course the specific info I need is not among them. :) 1/ Am I supposed to be picking up Scaramanger's AK47? 2/ Am I supposed to be finding something else at the Power Station? Something cunningly hidden? Perhaps under an old tarpaulin, behind a broken pallet in a disused garage with a "Beware of the Rabid Mongoose" sign on the door? 3/ After I drove off the baddies at "Canttrememberovich" I had to replay from a save to get around the "creative" transport pilot and both times my character shouted something like "Stop right there..STOP YOU BAS***!!" as we wandered back toward the village. Anyone actually meet the "Bast***" in question? Because I could only see a confused looking Goat to the side of the track! 4/ Double clicking in the map screen to tell my transport where to go, produces big black cross in circle checkpoints. All well and good, except that they seem to stay there afterward and I now have about four on my map. I can see things getting pretty ugly before long. Anyone know how I can delete them?
