    adjusted the SSS map and got some pictures that don't look as dopey gotta fix some alpha sorting issues on her eyelashes, hence the glasses.

    I tend to agree with Uro and co, it doesn't look like it's been given a highpoly normal map to be honest, maybe one straight from Quixel but not from any sort of baked geometry. The texture work doesn't look fantastic, it looks like someone probably spent a couple of hours on it at most. Like Uro, I'm not an expert, I'm still a baby compared to some modders on here in terms of learning, but if asked, a modder probably could've done a better model for free, the fact that this is a showpiece for premium DLC does not give me a lot of confidence to the quality of the other assets. I could be entirely wrong, and I am happy to be corrected but this asset in particular needs work, to me it sticks out in comparison to the rest of the assets because of the inconsistency of the quality

    I can certainly make journalist and paramedic gear, it's within my capabilities right now i'm just testing the waters with HG to ensure my meshes work correctly with his skeleton etc etc :)

    they do, i guess, but she still needs hair :P okay so progress, she's In One thing done differently to Arma 3 vanilla with this head is that it uses its own dedicated subsurface scattering map for the skin shader, rather than simply using the _co. This will now become the new standard workflow for all of my ladies and I will be writing up my own documentation on this at some point for anyone who wants to follow on or make their own custom head models.

    hey nigheve! bear in mind she's still a heavy WIP and generally the heads generally look much better in game than in the renders. Our friend up there is a proportionally correct base in which other variations will be derived from... TL;DR she's supposed to look a little on the boring side right now anyway. don't worry she'll start fleshing out soon
  9. As it says in the title, don't expect updates on this for a while, this was in between exam revision and female mod break work. but I thought it would be good to show anyway. DiamondBack is a Character Skin and Head Mod based around Alex Jessup's Diamond Back Recon concepts: http://alexjjessup.deviantart.com/art/Special-Forces-390639631 http://alexjjessup.deviantart.com/art/Sniper-395874730 The model was made very roughly and from scratch using edge loop techniques and they are currently configured as glasses but don't work well. The texture was also made from scratch. they will be configured as selectable heads rather than NVGs/Glasses as the model causes trouble in the viewpilot, they will be fully compatible with arma 3 helmets, the models will be essentially be done around the default male head, and the top will be left bald. the model in 3ds Max heads will be configured like so: the one as above One of the same model, but in Camo Variation B Variation B Camo Variation C Variation C Camo Expansions may occur as I play around more but that is what I set out to do FIRST, once I pick up the mod.

  14. yep! it is! we've renamed it the CW68, and yeah, the stats will be similar but there will also be different variants (marksman, GL, and an OICW type system built from it) and much more customizability over the Ghost Recon games :D why danke! :D

    The download in the first post is the latest public release, yeah :D and thank YOU, for your support, Arma is a difficult beast to tame for sure, and I've had difficulty with terrains in the past, a little make up doesn't hurt, these days it's becoming more common to see :D the latest white face looks uncannily like John malkovich... let's hope i can rectify that!

    It would be nice to have some official ladies, but it would put me out of a job doing the thing I love most especially when I'm so close to nailing the formula, and to be frank, the last time they looked to a mod of mine for 'inspiration' they didn't even say thank you to myself nor the original concept artist. Yeah I'm still salty about that, not saying i invented the concept of women in games or anything, just that y'know, kicking me to the kurb after helping to bridge the gap for so long would kinda feel like a betrayal, and besides, why pay them for DLC if you can have a mod for free? I know my work quality isn't fantastic, but it's something, right? I'm about as anti-feminist as they come, and i'm doing this mod for the reasons you state, because it just feels weird having all men around and as a woman its nice to play as a woman when I get the opportunity, I mean, shit, yelling SEXIST and demanding BI do something about it probably would've been easier for me, but where's the fun in that!? I wouldn't have seen the necessity to learn how to do it myself, I wouldn't have picked up max otherwise, so in ways I credit arma's lack of ladies for my growth as a person and an artist.

    I'm undecided on the former, its up to them seeing as I cut off ties with RHS some time ago now. and a British/french accent would take a high end recording studio, an English person and a knowledge of the config for voices... I have one of those things. I'm painfully aware FEMAL3 has none and i'm trying my hardest to work on it, but every time i ask someone for help they usually don't deliver, so unless you're offering help, i'm going to politely ask that you please refrain from asking me about it. Thanks!
