    Questions about texturing

    I never got the colour or layer mode on the camo... On the bottom layers you have your model part (I'm using Sauls templates) and on tutorials I see they place a layer on top filled with their camo and then they apply some sort of layer option, I cannot view the video on this thread at the moment but what is that process in Photoshop? In tutorials ive seen (2) they just rush through this part so fast.. It looks like some form of overlay with selection?

    Umm I'm keeping my expectations reeeal(istically) low and will be happy with a new terrain with some new factions and hopefully a few more vehicles, anything else I'll count as a bonus. This would be a great way to introduce large naval units into Arma, they can be controlled by simple point and click as in high command and could provide fire support, semi functional carriers could at least spawn air support and air supply from them, when using the destroyer and carrier mods available I can see how even that 'simple' functionality could enhance any mission greatly. But tbh I hope they do not focus any attention away from some issues and enhancements I think are required for the game already in hand, for example driving and more importantly different Or improved driving behavior between vehicle classes, maybe better simulation on air units, more AI improvements, it's awesome that they are improving the overall sound, the game is really shaping up.. I'm all for anything to do with the sea but am happy to leave that for modders for now.
  5. I'm unable to turn while moving with binoculars in hand, I have to stop to change direction.
  6. Activate walk mode, hold down W key for ten seconds and unit begins auto walking, it should not activate in crouch mode, free turn and mouse directions would still work and it deactivates when hitting any movement key. At times i actually enjoy walking in game, usually the hardest part about it is having to continually hold down the W key :D

    Bah! I was looking for something with a channel.. Well spotted vegeta, and to think how many times I've ran up that hill! @undeceived it's the arma3.com page background, shows how much I don't visit that page, it used to be some blue black gradient thing which I was what I wanted to grab in the first place if anyone knows where I can get it.

  10. Does it work if you use the downloaded mission as is? are you playing as Opfor, when i tried playing as Opfor it didnt work. Other than that the default download mission works no problem so you will need to go back to the drawing board.

    Fallout 4

    I've tried and really want to get into fallout but gave up on 3 after losing my dog to a scorpion (moments silence) - I can never forgive them and I'm still tormented from the realization that he won't be back... :p I swear those road models and textures are the same they've used for the last 2 releases, more of the same with better shaders?
  12. Cool! Yeah something like that, but with clear categories like tutorial type, large, small, medium, modded.. Maybe with some rating system and ability for feedback etc, maybe not worthy as it would require lot of participation.

    From playing on some user made dense jungle maps of Vietnam I found it quite boring after a while looking at the same textures and models without a break, also AI completely dominated in the denseness, but I'm sure BI would get the mix right, after all their AI needs to be able to navigate it in vehicles also.
  14. Didn't they (devs) mention that it's going to be completely different or something along those lines to what they have done before.. Do you think that island is similar to Lemnos?
  15. As Oukej mentions a few posts after that one, this fix may (probably) not help hit and runs to pedestrians civs or soldiers.
  16. Which reminds me, ive often thought it would be a nice to have some sort off Alive mission depository where users can upload missions for other users to download, there would need to be a few categories and stuff but it would be a great resource to mess with and further promote Alive.

  18. The point is there was no argument happening here, only cool guys dropping knowledge with mild (non fanboi) opinions thrown in, until someone decides he doesn't think it's worth talking about simply because he doesn't like it, please explain his point to me, I'm struggling to understand.
  19. This thread is now about a fan of Arma who somehow feels threatened about a thread that discusses and compares animations from other games with Arma on this forum because... Yeah, there's an Arc that BI are on and it's a continum and process With paint brushes because some guy left with his girl at a dance.. Blah blah, It was quite interesting otherwise :)

    I hope the driving improvement also helps them not run over their colleagues on foot, but then I don't think it's entirely the drivers fault as foot soldiers do not know how to run on the side of the road enough out of harms way, they also don't understand the concept of crossing the road, or more giving way to vehicles... Both vehicle and foot soldier stop and get stuck in a you go, no you go loop.
  21. This is a very useful script, it would be double useful if it could somehow have the ability redress all default factions like FIA/CSAT/AAF/NATO or even better down to OPF_FIA and BLU_FIA. Especially with great texture mods like TRYK's http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?182357-TRYK-s-Multi-Play-Uniforms and Ketsucorp. Anyway thanks for sharing this.

Please lets not go there :) I think this is a healthy discussion on different approaches to animation, i really appreciated Toadies input along with other knowledgeable people, we mostly all play other games and this aspect is worthy of comparison and discussion, its not a bitch/moan fest as other threads in the past.

    How much Arma have you played?

    Currently around 2600, i hate to think how much time in 4yrs off Arma2... Regret nearly all of it, such a waste of precious time! mostly in the editor trying to get the (elusive) sweet spot :) - Alive has most of that covered for me now, I love how much it does and only see one mission.sqm file in folder!
  24. Any other reviews for this, hows performance? i just got rid off AIA and so reluctant to down load it gain for one map even though it looks great in screens and video.
