  2. Hey guys, i have returned to ArmA editing a couple of days ago, and am now facing an issue that I can not resolve by myself. I have established a short conversation between the player and a unit. Script-wise everything seems to work ( I used the A3 method via texts.bikb). I have recorded soundfiles for the player, as well for his conversation partner, but I can only hear the player. The other unit is lip-synched and the text shows as subtitles, but I can not hear the soundfile playing. Did anybody ever have the same issue, or do you know how to resolve it? Recording is MONO via Audacity. Mission is Singleplayer. Bikb and scriptfile are included. texts.bikb conversation.sqf

  6. Current version: 1.1 Hi folks! I'm pretty new to these sacred forums, have been playing Arma/OFP since 2001 and picked up modding APR 2013 ago. I wanted to share my very first addon with you. It's out on Steam for quite a while now, but I figured that I should provide the community with a proper link as well. The reason I made those units it that I'm (slowly) writing a campaign for ArmA3. The Redhawks are going to play a major role there. I decided to release all of my addons (yes - there will be more) as I'm finishing them, since they all could use some playtesting and finishing touches. So, here goes: Your shady-contractor-next-door is ready for deployment! If a classic mercenary group with a touch of 90's hollywood is what you want, than Redhawk Security Inc. is what you should get. These folks are the right choice for your Lo-Tec missions in Takistan, Lingor or whereever else there is another dictator to protect. The addon requires you to have the following goodies installed: Toadie's weapons Zeealex' F3MALE units RH Pistol pack While this addons core is a simple retexturing/configuration job, I also included randomized gear which makes the 'hawks look like proper irregular mercenary scum (see screenshots). Since they don't like to walk, the Redhawks brought their own retextured Hunter MRAPs and CH 49 Helicopters. More vehicles might be added in the future. This addon is essential for running my upcoming "Dogs Of War" campaign. Feel free to report any bugs you might stumble upon. I will fix them ASAP. (If I can, that is) This addon will receive more love as I go ahead with the campaign. Expect more content. The addon is now in/past 1.0.   13. Current Version: Beta 0.1 I was a little disappointed with the limited choice of non-european heads/faces. While BLUFOR has enough faces to simulate diversity, the CSAT looks like the bloody clone army from "StarWars: the bad sequels". This pack offers you 16 new faces for african characters. I have tried my best to cover more than just one area/nation. You will find that some faces look more central/west african while others slightly more east-african. I have attached a reference picture to the screenshots for your convinience. While I'm not quite satisfied with the quality of the textures, I will continue to update this pack every now and then. In addition, there are two more packs in the works. A far-east-asian and a middle-east. Both will be released in a month or two ( if work doesn't come in my way ) As always I'll be very happy about feedback.   15. Thanks Tsark. Actually samples 06, 11 and 16 are taken from Somali actors. You have a good eye for this kind of thing. Now you just need a decent Morgan voice actor and you're good to go.

  17. Thanks Fox. Much appreciated. Thanks a lot Sonsalt6 Well actually, it's impossible to recreate People with distinct Somalian features without creating new 3D models. There is simply no 3D head that fits. All I can do via retex is to apply them to a "Persianhead_A3" or a "DefaultHead_A3" like I did with "zir_head_afr_09". I need you guys to tell me if he looks Somali - I've been staring on my Photoshop/Virtual Arsenal screen for too long to be able to tell. If the solution I have chosen turns out to be satisfactory, I'll add more East-African heads in the next updates. Anyway, thanks guys. It's my pleasure!

    RH wip Thread

    IDK, pre-configured weapon/attachment combinations DID help me a lot when it came to addon/mission making (especially when you try to randomize gear), so I wouldn't discard this idea. a solution would be to set all weapon classes that have attachments to scope = 1 in the cfg, so they don't show ingame. That's what Massi did. Also, having icons for every type of combination may seem like unneccessary work, but if an addon maker goes the extra mile to create something with this amount of attention to detail, I can only approve.

Looking forwarrd to your campaign btw. @HJohnson Eventually, but for now my WIP whole campaign (the reason I made these units) depends on Massi's work. I will probably change the configs to use other weapon packs as soon as Robert Hammer's and Toadie's weapon-packs include all the weapons I need for all missions and addons. @Brutal500 Oh noes. You solved it before I even saw what it was. New version 1.0 released. First post updated. Steam version update imminent. This version now features a changelog.

  23. Nope, that's a HK51. There's also A HK53, they look like the MP5, but they use a rifle cartridge. They were quite unsuccessful like most other short-barrel assault rifles. Same problems as the AKSU-74 and the likes. No one uses them, so wouldn't the Redhawks. ;) @Jona33 Thank you. I took the pattern base from uniform pics off the internet. The colors are a different story. I needed something that would look a little evil/shady - something with the color red. The pattern shouldn't be to flashy and still work like camo. I spent an afternoon in Photoshop, comparing pixels :(. So the Hawk MedPat1994 was born. There is also a Woodland version in the works btw. And a digital pattern for elite operatives.

Alright, I can make an optional config, but you would have to download: All HLC Weapon packs (I think 5 Addons atm) Some RPG7/RPG18/At4/Stinger addons - havn't tested any yet, but I expect that to be 3-4 Addons RH Handgun pack (which is ok, as this is going to be a requirement for the campaign) Probably some MP to compensate for MAS' MP5 (I could use something vanilla, but come on! They need an MP5) Even than, I would not be able to give the 'hawks generic M4s or M16s. Another problem is that the addon features a randomization script. I use MAS' preconfigured weapon classes with attached scopes/reflector sights, but my scripting skillz are not good enough ATM to change the script so that takes scopes into account. That would mean that the Redhawks would be using ironsights only. One more benefit of the HLC pack however, is that Toadie has released them on Steam, which is the best that can happen to you as a mission designer. The people playing your mission can just download everything with one klick. This is another reason why I concider changing to HLC entirely, as soon as Toadie will add more generic weapons to his pack.
