  1. Thanks everyone for your responses! I will definitely check out the suggested missions. Two missions that I have tried recently are Overthrow and Antistasi (the latter being frustratingly difficult) as well. I look forward to trying out your missions, HeroesandvillainsOS. Especially if you plan on making more "vanilla" versions!
  2. Can you recommend any specific Alive campaigns? Trying to find them is confusing for me, as I don't really know what I'm looking for. I would like to try the missions by HerosandVillansOS, but the mod requirements are too much for me and my 1mbps connection.
  3. It's annoying, but any time you are not playing on a TacBF server/game mode/mission, you need to disable the mod or that will happen.

    The fact that there is no "Tactical Battlefield esque direction" at all in Arma makes play styles not as wide and open as you just said, doesn't it? Your statement is completely contradictory. DOH! And yes, it DOES need that direction - because it's the only game mode that hardly anyone plays BECAUSE of the lack of direction. There is a reason that PvP is a joke in the Arma series: No standardization.

    Seems really interesting. If there is PvP, it begs the question whether or not there is 3rd person "wall hacks" enabled by default and if the Game Master can surround a player with objects that they can't get around for trolling purposes (or spawn an enemy squadron right on top of me). I was really hoping that this would be a true PvP mode that Arma desperately needs, such as what Tactical Battlefield is doing (Please tell me that there will be Standardization of PvP in this Zeus DLC so we don't have to find a hardcore King of the Hill server): http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?169645-Tactical-Battlefield-A-PvP-Modification

    Forgive me, but I still don't really understand what this Zeus DLC actually is. Is it just a 3d editor or an actual MP game mode where everyone can spawn tank AI wherever they want and shoot lightning bolts at me?

    Exactly. Frankly I think it's absurd that BI would even try to mystify this reveal by making an announcement of an announcement. Unless it's ACTUALLY better than Conquest mode and a co-op campaign combined (to dream BIGGER), then they need to just come out with it when its ready to launch. But to BI, having wonky animal AI seems to be the bestest thing evar - so my expectations are quite low. Now don't get me wrong. I love BI. But with this announcement of an announcement to DREAM BIGGER than CONQUEST MODE AND Co-op campaign....it just reminds me of those people who say "WOWOWOWOW!!! WE PAY THE HIGHEST PRICES FOR G-G-G-G-GOOOOOOLD!!" and when you take something to them you find out that they are only paying you 35% of melt. And if they actually reveal that it is a MP mode where you defend a flag from attackers and lightning strikes help you out then I'm seriously going to be pissed. Because that's neither bigger than Conquest mode nor better than co-op campaign.

    UAVs: Feedback and wishes

    I would REALLY like to be able to use the Turret on the Greyhawk. Right now the stupid AI keeps flying in circles and wont stay still to lase a target from the turret. Damn thing starts doing figure 8's.

  13. Yeah, I understand where they are coming from, but games only give you two senses to utilize: Sight and sound. Having members of your squad have an outline translates the video game world to the real world efficiently. For instance, you KNOW the people in your squad and can identify them in real life just by the back of their head. Not so much in a video game world. Anyways, hopefully this generates more interest in this mod :D
  14. TacBF screws up singleplayer by taking away your weapons so I had it disabled and my SP mods enabled when I took that picture. I always look to see if there are any servers going before re enabling TacBF and disabling my SP mods. I finally got to play on an EU server and had a ball, even though there was a lot of rubber banding and died more times than I can count :D What exactly happens when you enable the wind detection? Do you have to do any more adjustments or is it automatic? A suggestion, if I may. Members of your immediate squad should have that octagon outline like in vanilla. I couldn't keep with them when a lot of my teammates were around in all the confusion.

  16. That's why I love the concept of it :D. The developers of this mod "get it" so to speak. Having the option for 3rd person or 1st person is fine for PVE against the AI, but PVP is a whole other monster that has to keep certain aspects consistent. Being able to use 3rd person to look around corners is a game changer and single handed-ly cheapens the experience, objectively.
  17. I've had TacBF installed for a couple days now and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Not because there is anything wrong with the mod, but because I haven't been able to play it yet. For the last couple of days all I've seen was this: http://oi41.tinypic.com/30hwysg.jpg (120 kB) Basically there is only one server where I have decent ping and wont get booted, and I haven't seen anyone playing on it yet. I've watched just about every video and can't wait to partake, we seriously need more players! I really don't want to see this thing fail before it even gets started - because Arma desperately needs a genuine PVP mode and this mod is just what the doctor ordered. King of the Hill doesn't cut it since 3rd person is an option (you either have to play in 3rd person or be at a serious disadvantage.) Those are my frustrations right now, anyways.
  18. I plopped the @TacBF into my Arma 3 root, then I started the game, went to configure -> expansions and enabled it. I restarted and it was enabled. However, whenever I go back to my expansion menu I see this: Not quite 15 other mods...I know it doesn't hurt anything, I'm just wondering if I need to enable all of these as well.
  19. Thanks for the reply. I just got it installed. Does anyone know what all the other 15 mods are that pop up in the expansions menu once you enable TacBF? Also, the only server that I can play on is the SEALZ. Thankfully JSRS is supported, only problem is no one is playing on it :( Will there be more US servers in the future?
  20. Wow. This mod has pretty much all of the reasons why I was disappointed in vanilla pvp solved all in one place! Please tell me I can use JSRS with this?

    J.S.R.S. 2.2 Soundmod

    Maaaaaaaaan! I absolutely love this. Great job, Jarhead! You have spoiled me as I now can't play Arma 3 without it. I wish more servers would *%()@ing allow this mod! Feedback: It appears that this mod has hit my FPS pretty good. I usually got around 50-60 but when It's enabled I get around 20-40. I don't know anything about modding for Arma 3, and neither do I know much about programming/scripting - but have you considered optimizing the distance scripts into a main loop or something?
  23. Overall I really liked the first campaign and I was able to use JSRS. Good job, BIS! However, some things that really bugged me include: 1.) After a month and a half of waiting for this episode, I'm a bit disappointed. The missions are very short, like showcase missions. 2.) The whole premise of "surviving" doesn't feel like the odds are against you. In OPF and closer to the end of Arma 2, you really felt screwed. You crawled around everywhere and picked your fights carefully. In this first episode it feels like your small group of bandits could wipe out the entirety of AAF forces. 3.) Soldiers saluting you, a Corporal. 4.) Did you just reuse the infantry showcase?! 5.) Is AAN the only news network in existence?

    Altis: Criticism and Suggestions

    So far Altis is amazing! Good job BI! I guess if I had a suggestion it would be this: #1) Building interiors. I can't imagine the amount of work it took to create Altis, and adding interiors to buildings seems like an impossible task. But currently every building is empty and doesn't looked lived in by any sort of populace. It feels as though right before the military arrived a cleaning service came by and made billions from clearing out all the buildings, sweeping the floors, and shipping away all the T.V.'s, computers, couches, tables, pictures, chairs, microwaves, toasters, beds, mirrors, dressers, etc. I wonder if something "procedural" could be implemented to save on FPS performance? #2) Tides(?) I see a missed opportunity to raise/lower the sea level for certain times of day to fill the river channels and overflows near the beaches. It would make things REALLY interesting to know that attacking at a particular time of day is better for a scuba team to infiltrate more in land.
