  3. Hey guys, I want to have a AI unit stand in my base that can provide you with ammunition. When scrolling on that unit you should be able to open the inventory of an ammobox (thats in the best case somewhere different so that the player cant find it!) I don't want to use the Arsenal for that, because I want to have Limited supplies on that unit! Is something like that possible? If yes, how? Many Greetings Moony
  4. Thanks ski, that sounds like a really nice approach. I actually did not think of calling in reinforcement by myself. So basically I only have two TAOR marker, one for BLUFOR and one for OPFOR? (while in my case I properly go with a big TAOR across the map, since I want people to have something to do from the start) Thanks you for the tipps. You helped me alot! ^^

    Open Box Inventory via Script

    Ahh damn, I knew I forget to add something important to my post. The box is about 2 Meter away from the object that has the interaction to open the ammobox. If I stand in front of that object, everything works fine. If I'm like 5 meters away from it, I still get the option and an inventory opens but its empty this time. (In fact I can see the objects in the inventory of the ammobox for a split second befor the inventory becomes all empty) I don't use the distance code at all, since I will use this script on an static object instead of on the player itself!
  6. Okay, I have a question, or maybe I need a little introduction into the basics behind ALiVE xD: I'm working on my very first persistent ALiVE Campaign. The task is simple, take over the map. That means, my unit will start in one corner of the map. The whole map is held by enemy forces (Asymmetric Settings). Since my unit is rather small I want some ambient BLUFOR AI in the areas that are cleared by enemies. That means at first only a small part of the Map has BLUFOR units but over time...when we cleared towns the should also be in these areas. The thing is, while I want the enemy to target these Areas I don't want the BLUFOR units to go and clear other towns. How should I set up the mission then? Should I use multiple small TAOR marker (each town) or one big (across the map)? Is it possible that the BLUFOR AI doesn't clear any enemy held towns by itself? I'm sorry that I'm basically asking for a tutorial. I've read a lot on the wiki but am not sure if I can accomplish what I try to do. I'd be totally okay if any help would come via PM to not disturb this forum here (but on the other hand, others might be interested as well) Thanks in advance Many Greetings Moony

    Okay, finally I found time to work on the mission again. I tested that now. Overall the code works but only if you are in range of the Ammobox (basically the same range where you could just open the inventory of the Ammobox on your own xD) Is there any way to increase the range?

    This is not what I want. Not at all. I want to open the inventory of an ammobox by adding an action to an object in the world (e.g. an AI unit). Also I said I DON'T want to use the Arsenal, and the virtual storage IS the arsenal

    Hey guys, if just edit the first post and inserted a new and fresh post. Please be aware that we, due to some trouble lately now have an age restriction. We were only happy to not have one to give the younger people an opportunity but sadly it never worked out and only caused problems. Also I'm happy to say that, since we are growing we now started with some custom missions (we like to call them event missions) rather than dynamic battlefields. We hope that these missions will be replaced by the custom missions completely in the future. We also have plans for a long time ALiVE Campaign soon! At last, we are looking for member that not only like to play with us but also create missions for us. If you are not into editing, don't hesitate to apply anyway.   15. Guys, don't understand me wrong. I appreciate the work of the modder in this community. Also I'd don't want to kick of yet another discussion in that regards. While you might be right, that the follow up to the question might be "When?" or "Could you do it now?", it was not been spoken here and always thinking of the bad in the people is not so healthy xD I can definitely see that questions that regard towards a "when" are annoying. Not a modder here but a mission creator in my group :P And I also see that MANY people still ask for the when and I can see that the modder are annoyed by that...I'm totally on the side of the modder here. I was just pointing out that he not really said "When" but was just asking for the overall priority. He has not said "When will the tak civilians come?" but "Has it any priority right now". A simple "Yeah we have started to do something in this regards" or "No, right now we are working on other stuff" would have been enough. See my point here. My answers ideas where much shorter than the one Alwarren gave. It would have been easier. Sure you might argue "But these question come frequently" yeah...but the answers too. xD So giving simple (maybe let people know with these answers you are annoyed like "No, we will let you know when we do them!") And as you already said, you might argue, the next question could be "And when will they come?" but hey...you can maybe just ignore these questions. That is a harsch way, but "shouting" (the "" are there for a purpose) is the same. Again, I'm pro modder here. But I lately see a rising number of saltiness on this forum here which is somewhat sad. I mean, the Arma community should be a family and also the somewhat slow brother is loved in a family...isn't it? So no hate from my side, just a member who is somewhat concerned ^^ Edit: Also whoever is responding with: "yes we are making that very soon, get ready because it will completely rock your socks off" doesn't need to wonder xDDDDD
  16. Sorry to be the douche here, but no he actually did not. He basically asked what priority the Tak Civilians have. He did not say, do you think they come any time soon....next week or whatever. He just asked if they might come in the next update or when Arma 4 is released. For me that's a legit question. If that's not allowed I don't know what is.

    Wait, you say development on ACRE has stopped (while I can see that there wasn't an update for a long time I never thought that...since TFR didn't saw an update for a long time either.) That would actually suck, because I thought to switch with my group as well in the next couple of month!

  23. Yeah we are using the latest version...at least I guess. (The problem is one cannot see which version is installed right now...) However gonna download it again and test. The question is, are you guys using BIS_fnc_ambietAnim?
  24. Have you ever tried to delete the whole CBA folder and download it manually. If that works then I guess PwS f'ed it!
