    User Mission Request Thread

    Request a remake of OFP's campaign with A3 units and some creative thinking when it comes to mission locations. Some of the top downloaded missions are remakes of individual OFP missions and OFP has the best campaign IMO. I guess default iteration would be BLUFOR vs OPFOR but I wouldn't mind having the sides switched around so we can use/fight different units. Infantry units all have equivalents. BLUFOR ##M1A1 Abrams -> Slammer ##M2A2 Bradley -> Choice between Panther or Marshall ##M60 Patton -> Slammer ##M113 -> Choice between Panther or Marshall ##M163 Vulcan -> Cheetah ##M151 'MUTT' Jeep -> Hunter ##HMMWV -> Hunter ##M939 '5-ton' Truck -> HEMMT ##UH-60 Black Hawk -> Ghosthawk ##CH-47D Chinook -> Ghosthawk ##OH-58 Kiowa -> Pawnee ##AH-1 Cobra -> Comanche ##AH-64 Apache -> Comanche ##A-10 Thunderbolt II -> TBA OPFOR/GreenFOR ##Ural -> Zamak ##UAZ-469 -> Ifrit/Strider ##T-55 -> T100/Kuma or BTR-K/FV-720 ##T-72 -> T100/Kuma ##T-80 -> T100/Kuma ##BRDM -> Ifrit/Strider ##BMP-1 -> BTR-K/FV-720 or Marid/Gorgon ##BMP-2 -> BTR-K/FV-720 or Marid/Gorgon ##Scud Launcher -> MLRS? ##Shilka ->Tigris/??? ##Mi-17 -> Orca/Mohawk ##Mi-24 Hind -> Kajman/Hellcat ##Su-25 Frogfoot -> TBA/Buzzard
  2. Gear can't be saved. Only guns. Was annoying to ditch a lifesaving helmet for a bandana every mission. I use this http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=18757 to spawn NVGs if the mission takes place at night.
  3. I really hope so, though it's a given the Tanks showcase will be reused for a mission. BIS kept crowing about how combined arms type missions are what Arma is known for yet they've barely done any. In fact it's all been spec ops/guerrilla missions since the original OFP campaign. Why even bother with that AAF reinforcement DLC when it was barely used? Doubt we'll even get to see half the vehicles in the game during the campaign.

Damage system sucks - fix needed

Can't believe they left it in this state before they went on xmas vacations, and there still haven't been any changes with the latest dev build update. It takes more bullets to kill an enemy in Arma3 than it does in Battlefield 4 or even Duke Nukem.
  5. Flipped through a few walkthrough videos and it seems no vehicle combat again. Just your ragtag bunch of infantry nipping at the heels of giants like the first chapter. :(

    Weapon selection in campaign?

Yeah, I didn't understand why BIS couldn't have at least given us the option to use the sharpshooter and IAR versions of the MX. Or at least retroactively added the FNP 45 pistol so we could play with it. It's not like anyone ever bothered with the P99 anyway.
  7. Um, the OP? Did you not read it? It was the whole jumping off point for this thread:
  8. It's still short of "stuff". Only 1 episode of the campaign has been released, still no jets for BLUFOR and OPFOR, recycled assets from Arma 2 yet again, they've implemented a totally broken body armour system. A product should stand on its own. It's not the community's job to fix it and I don't appreciate having to browse through all the possible mods for the few good ones that don't break the balance or cause scripting conflicts to eke out a bit more game time from Arma. What a sycophant.
  9. I appreciate that neither release has come with a hundred different skins, configs and their own new category in the editor so it actually fits in with both sides. My only recommendation is to use the Buzzard's sound effects as they're much better than Arma 2's.
  10. You could not be more incorrect. Not "just because". It being developed later has allowed this thing called time to pass which allows the latest advances in tech to be implemented in its design. A T34 firing point blank could not penetrate an Abrams. Read that link someone posted to you.

Seriously? Even without the launch deadline they're just recycling old A2 units?

Jets & Planes: More to come?

OP has a point. It's content that should have been in launch and BIS won't even mention what planes they've chosen.
  13. aw man, really? That's cheap. How long does it take to complete the whole episode?

Geez, how long will we have to wait to get a look at the content that should have shipped with the gave. Sapre us the manufactured hype and just post the screens.

Called it. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?163110-Are-there-going-to-be-more-guns-in-final-release&p=2507252#post2507252 Because they were in the alpha files. You don't think anyone would look at Arma 3's meagre weapon selection and think "What this game needs most right now is more pistols!". They just went with the assets that are closest to being finished.

Patch 1.02 - Time to say thank you

Or I could just buy a game with a finished campaign. BIS aren't your buddies, and this isn't a charity. Seems so many people are bowled over by the fact that they get to occasionally communicate with devs that they eat up everything they say.
  17. The afterburner effect from Mukcep's Arma 2 Tornado mod still look great in Arma 3. Even has heat haze from them.
  18. Request someone mod GreenFor's CH-49 to have 6 rocketpods taken from BluFor's AH-9 in the same configuration as past Arma game's Mi-17.
  19. If I were you I'd copy the armed "stealth" VTOLs from Resident Evil.

mmm, the texture used in that PMC mod looks better imo. http://i.imgur.com/oWfgxDx.jpg

    Potential DLC Ideas and Proposals

I would prefer extensive enhacements to existing factions (like everyone getting a big naval pack as mentioned) rather then the BAF, ACR DLCs that added new factions that all required their equivalents of helemts, vests, jeeps & APCs to be added, which didn't really change anything in the game.
