Would it be possible to fix the issue of when one or two players can hold off almost an entire team from capturing a town by just hiding and spamming in AI? 😕 Not sure how it works 100% but I think its because if someone gets hit it reset the capture or something. And its hard to get people to avoid getting hit 😛Many battles have been like this last couple of days. Maybe force people to be within ~10m from the centre/flag to be able to guard/capture? And I think it is to easy to recapture previous contested bases/towns, just go there alone and you got it. It makes the game endless.. I rather have the teams being able to choose 2-3 attack objectives at the same time. And could night/day cycle be not so realistic? Feels like I'm always playing when its night ingame 😞 Maybe not an idea everyone likes but wouldn't it be more fun to capture towns if they rewarded the team with unlocks? Like certain town/outpost unlocks tanks, another unlocks certain rifles/backpacks etc. I do really like this mode tho! 🙂

Hey! I don't know if it was the problem but I had steam running on the server and when I closed and restarted the server+hc it started to work again. So I guess solved for now. Thank you tho! :)

Hello ! I got a server and my HC connects, takes a slot, but nothing will offload to the HC for some reason? I'm using the arma3server.exe perf5 for both client and server. (also tried original arma3server.exe and arma3server_x64.exe) Running liberation , antistasi etc. The CPU on the HC stays at 0% and only use ram (1,5-2gb). Using TADST, but no mods! Paramters: "-connect=127.0.0.1 -port=2302 -client -nosound -password=1 -name=HC -profile=HC" Never seen this before, it did offload when I ran the same missions but under linux. Anyone experienced this ? I'm a simple! :(

Is it worth changing to windows OS for 64bit server?

I'm getting a bit weary with something always breaking on linux ... but it works and runs "ok". But I want to run AI-heavy missions and I was wondering if 64bit server makes a big diffrence when it comes to these kind of missions ? Maybe even 32bit arma server on windows is more stable than linux? I dunno.. never had a windows server. :( Also, would anyone know what it means with mono-processor and bi-processor servers? Apparantly just the windows license for mono cost , at the place where I rent, 19eur and bi-processor 39eur. Also mailed the company with this question but usually they take a few weeks before replying :P Xeon E5-1620v2 sounds like a bi-processor right?? lol -

Ahh great! I was so confused, I wasn't sure if they actually ment the amount of cores. Thanks alot for clarifying this! I managed to temp.install evaluate copy of their windows just to try it out and I ran it for a few hours before going back to linux. Felt like it ran alot more stable with windows compared to Ubuntu. Even at times where both OS had around the same fps in same scenarios, the ai felt alot more responsive and the missions loaded alot faster on windows. And the CPU usage stays at around 30% , one of my issues with ubuntu has been "jumping" cpu usage and sometimes cpu usage get so high that the server "hangs" at 100% usage and I have to reboot the whole server. Yeah I tested that aswell after reading your reply, felt a bit stupid now and I think its mostly because of the mission. I've been stuck playing alot of Warlords of the Pacific and during those big attacks the server goes down to 10-18fps when I'm alone on the server.. lol. Other missions seems to run fine. HC doesn't seem to make a diffrence. Not sure what to do. Don't know if its worth an extra 19eur+tax, around 220+tax and +server rent a year, to add a windows license. Feels more stable, easier to do stuff and maybe having an easier time each time they patch the game. If they only would accept win10 pro, that way I could just buy my own new license :P Thanks alot for your help Terox! Gonna try and find a good mission that is enjoyable but also good for benchmarking the server :) -

Hello ! Anyone care to tell me how to disable the medical system? The only thread I've found about disabling the medsys tells me to remove the medical*.pbo. So I removed em all on the server but when we join the server it tells us that our clients has certain medical addons and gets kicked off. Does this mean every player have to manually delete his medical files ? :( :( I know nothing! I am doing something wrong and I want to know what it is! -

Linux server works fine for me aswell! I do have some questions tho as I'm getting a new cpu/ram later today Do the malloc parameter work for linux? Can I just copy the malloc ddls from windows arma 3 client folder if so? Or should I use any special malloc just for linux? Will only have 8gb ddr4, so not sure if or what malloc would be useful for me. And do anyone know what this parameter actually mean/do? -disableServerThread : Option to disable the server send messaging thread in case of random crashing "messaging thread" sounds important to have on, but maybe not. Just curious what the benefits are to disable it.. if any. And is the arma3server capped at 2047 ram? Whenever I tried to use -maxMem= at anything higher than that value on my old machine the server wouldn't start / or get buggy even tho 8gb ram in the system. And last question I run HC and arma3server on the same machine and I was just wondering if I should limit the hc or server with cpuCount because of this? Like, I will still only have 4 cores with my new cpu, could it somehow be bad if I do not use -cpuCount to limit , for example, the HC to cpuCount=1 ? I find everything with arma really confusing, extremely diffrent opinions at each search result. I guess its a bit of trial n error and very diffrent with each system/machine. But any help with above questions would be appreciated! And any hints / tips on special system settings for fedora-server that I should be using/disabling for better server performance would also be very appreciated :) -

Also I have a question! Normally a players AI uses resources(CPU) from the player pc right? So if I put this on 0, does that mean the server will use its own resources for the player ai + add vcom to them? //Turns off VCOMAI for AI units in a players squad NOAI_FOR_PLAYERLEADERS = 1; -

Hello! First of, awesome addon/mod! Can't play against AI without vcom anymore I was just wondering if there is an easy way for me to disable rearm option? I keep getting this, making my logs real big! Hey! Greatful for your reply! I feel that showcases and campaign is playable on my current laptop! And editor aswell. And its alot smoother than how arma2 played on this laptop. I tried Showcase - Combined Arms. Lowest fps 20, highest 38. Mostly stays around ~28fps Campaign also ~28 fps! Uhm, altis editor with 2x3 riflesquads, 2x2 tank platoon, 2x3 apc squads = 20 fps, ~15 when everyone start firing. As long it stays over 20 fps it feels "okay" and is playable! But online its just terrible, but online is pretty much my only interest. Missions with around 20-30 players and AI, such as invade and annex and warfare BE, I get around 4-8fps. I tried playing on my own lan only-dedicated warfare BE server and I get around 25-30fps first hour or so, 4-8fps after a while when the AI have bought their vehicles and stuff. When playing wasteland i usually have better fps on sa-matra wasteland servers. With 20 players online, ~30 fps. Gets below 20 fps if few people are in the same area. The higher population servers are pretty much unplayable, 4-8 fps or so. And arma3 freezes alot when I get down to 4 fps, almost hangs up but never crashed. I usually just want to play warfare be, sa-matra wasteland and some invade & annex. Tried diffrent video settings and tweaks aswell! I'd really like to be able to play online on Altis with at least 40 players when playing wasteland and still have playable framrates. Its a shame I can only fit a laptop where i currently live :/ The servers i try to play on are the same servers that I used to play on when I had my desktop. It ran real smooth, worse connection but the desktop is more powerful than my laptop. You don't think I will notice much diffrence when playing online on the asus laptop, only singleplayer/campaign wise? I really don't know what to do :/ Sorry for the long response! -

Hi! I know it might be to much to ask from a laptop but I'd like to know if this laptop could handle warfare BE (32players atleast) and wasteland 55-64 players? Warfare is extremely demanding on my current laptop (down to ~8fps) and wasteland is usually really bad aswell . ASUS G750JX-T4035H Intel® Core™ i7-4700HQ Processor (Max turbo 3,40 GHz) 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M 3GB Currently playing arma3 on a Qosmio x770-124 laptop Intel® Core™ i5-2430M processor (2,40/3,00 Turbo GHz) 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz GeForce® GTX 560M (1,5GB ram (i think)..) I included my current laptop specs aswell as I'd like to ask another question, is it a big step up? (big diffrence between them) If I was to buy this Asus laptop? Sadly I have only room for a laptop, can't even put a table or tv in my current "home" :( -
Need help optimizing basic.cfg (an Hetzner dedicated server)

I just can't keep it short... lol Well I just rented my first dedicated server from Hetzner and I'm happy about it even thought I have no real clue on what the fuck I'm doing. But I do like running servers for other games time to time, so I guess I'll make use of it other than for arma 3. (l) When I placed my order it said Intel® Core™ i7-2600 Quad-Core but I noticed that I recieved an i7-3770 instead. I'm not sure if this is something I should "complain" about ? Or if I should be happy about it. Intel® Core™ i7-3770 @ 3.4Ghz 16 GB DDR 3 RAM And 100mbit And my plan is to run COOP missions for 20-30players with alot of ai. And I'm a big fan of whole lotta stratis by SaOk. My basic.cfg looks like this atm and it worked well for me when I only had an 10mbit connection, got it from some other post long time ago. But now when I have a better server and a better connection than before I'm not sure what to do. Searched the forums and all it did was to make me really confused. Tried kellys heroes settings and then I read a post about lowering/increasing diffrent values, so I've been doing that all night long but no luck for me. So many people say diffrent things so its hard for a stupid guy like me to understand. I know the mission can be heavy with diffrent mission parameters. I got some problems with desync, especielly when someone new join and spawns in , the desync gets up to 100000 :/ But we never get disconnected. Hm. :P It barely use any CPU atm. So what I'd like is someone to help me out and optimizing my settings to make sure my server have an good basic.cfg that handles alot of ai and 20-30 players! To actually make use of the CPU and connection that my dedicated server have. MaxMsgSend=5120; MinBandwidth=5242880; MaxBandwidth=10485760; MaxSizeGuaranteed=256; MaxSizeNonguaranteed=64; MinErrorToSend=0.0025; MinErrorToSendNear=0.005; MaxCustomFileSize=0; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=1; Resolution_W=0; Resolution_H=0; Resolution_Bpp=32; Windowed=0; Sorry for bad english or bad explaining. Ok great! :) I changed parameters so there is alot more AI aswell as vehicle mode and I noticed the ai is always throwing smokes. There is smoke everywhere! can i change this somehow? to make it less frequent or whatever? -

awesome! Got a some small "issues"! Uhm a random player joined in today and told me that he couldn't see what areas that have been captured. Once the mission have started and someone joins they don't see what areas that are captured. Everything that was blue for the rest of us, when they joined, is red for them. One thing that is kinda annoyng. The ai runs for the vehicles in the beginning but they always dismount just below the radar station and thats fine. But they also dismount the vehicle with a turret, thats kinda.. bad i guess. Not an big issue! When you join and pick squad leader class and joins in the AI are sometimes inside a car and you can't get them out unless you shoot at the vehicle till its red and they dismount. Not an big issue thought! -

Sounds awesome! I wish I could contribute on this project. But all I can do is really give norma-user feedback and annoying wishlists (lol). Kinda sucks thought, I really wish I could do more. Question. Did you disable chopper extraction? When I try to call for chopper extraction nothing happends at all. Air and land support works thought. Your doing a great job! I hope this grows! I wish there was more servers running this misson! ( I can barely find any with low latency) ooh I got some wishes Would be nice if there was some audio when calling for air, land support and chopper extraction. Damn my english sucks atm i cant explain anything lol. But some radio voices like some other missions have when calling for choppers etc. i think I'm drunk how the hell did I get drunk i feel high.. but I havn't been drinking and I don't take other stuff I might just be.. weird atm. sometimes I just .. i dunno :/ I admire people like you and others on the forums. I wan't to be able to code, but I just don't understand the logic in anything. everyone feels so smart! the crap I'm sayting atm is just ignore it. I just wanted to say it. love (: -

Hey! When using X amount of lifes per run its highly annoying when the squad leader gets locked out after X deaths and ai take over and keep ordering the remaining players, every second, to return to formation. I wasn't aware of this until a day ago so I changed to unlimited lifes. But I'd like to have ~10 max respawns/lifes again when possible. Would it be possible for you to, in later releases, make so the leadership gets passed down to another squad member when the squad leader have died X amount of times and gets locked out? And it seems as if the AI anti tank soldiers actually don't use their rpgs when driving around in a vehicle? Might just be for me thought, does it work for you? Also a question for your future releases. Are you planning on having several diffrent options/parameters for us to set the amount of enemies on foot, vehicles, air etc and being able to adjust their spawn time and how aggressive the enemies will be? I remember seeing you saying something about this but I can't find that page, so I am sorry for asking this! I hope you continue developing this mission (: -

Question.. I just placed an order for a dedi and they mailed me and asked me for a scan of my ID card or passport, this feels really unsafe lol. I know they are a big provider but -what if- wrong person at the company make use of it somehow. Gaah i don't know what my quetion is really. and to think about them seeing my passport photo LOL.. I look like an russian axe murderer or something lol. But then again, they might not dare do anything if they see it. But have you done this? or somebody else who see this post?

latest version seemed to have solved almost all of my issues, somehow. lol (: Keep up the good work (: Its really awesome! I wish the objectives (bases) had more defences, stationary vehicles that stay in base and more patrols around! (: It would also be cool if the enemies had more AT units! And maybe make those tower AI into patrol units or something until its possible to make them enter the towers without getting "bugged". (: -

Gonna check it out thanks (: Yeah I'm using the latest! Trying to figure out whats making me and others get disconnected after 5-20mins . But maybe I've configured the server wrong or not good enough server :D . But the earlier versions worked just fine! rpt filled with Server: Network message xxxx is pending Server: Unhandled user message type_xxx xxxx / xxx = diffrent digits each time and lots of diffrent LODShape: errors :(
