  1. Jeez, having been out of Arma for a long time due to RL issues, I'm astonished by the amount and quality of the A3 release - I just downloaded delta. Unsung was one of my favourite mods in A2 and is guaranteed to be such in A3. The dedication and talent of you and your colleagues shows in every release I've looked at. Many thanks and much respect to the Unsung team for providing conte nt of such outstanding quality, putting many commercial offerings to shame. Warm regards and Happy New Year wishes to all of you in RL as well as gaming personas. Orc
  2. Hi Those are great images, reminding me of many walks in the Odenwald, Schwarzwald and Alsace when I was living in Germany. Being something of an old fart I find the scenarios set in WW II, Vietnam & the cold war far more interesting than vanilla A3 (but as an SF fan since I was 7 years old, looking forward also to such as Lost Dragons). Keep up your excellent work I look foward to making missions with it :) Regards, and Happy New Year to your team Orc

    Binkowski

Very glad to hear how well you are doing, Bink :)

Problems with Marksman DLC, lost files.

Were you trying to load a saved game ("Resume")? In any event, try deleting the saved game ("My Documents" -> "Arma 3" -> "Missions" -> "Saved" -> "A3" -> (probably) "missions_f" -> "showcases" Also have a look in the Arma3.cfg, near the bottom it will list the addons loaded for the last mission you played under "class ModLauncherList" If it looks odd, delete everything between the first { anfd the last }: but don't delete those 2 curly brackets.
  5. Yeah, being limited to overarm throws is a PITA. Underarm or sideways lobs for doorways (much less likely to bounce back at you) & some sort of 'straight' (or sideways) throw for popping a grenade through an open window, etc. would be great.
  6. I have a WiP addon for that. Player only atm; I need to be able to think more clearly than currently to get the AI (especially ammo-bearers) to lob mags to team-mates. I'll post a short video clip next month (b/w very tight after various A3 upgrades & mod downloads this month). As it involves configs it has to be an addon; also initial version will be limited to vanilla ammo.
  7. Thank you! DL'd from Dropbox as still have unresolved issues with PwS.
  8. @shadowze: when you say you logged into Steam via a webpage, did you just open a browser window & go to Steam? If so, it won't work. I bought the bundle, saw a 'message' about logging in to download so I used the Steam client to log in. No content. That was because the green bar with the message is actually a link, as I learnt after contacting BIS support. One has to click on that then follow through on the Steam page that opens automatically in your browser by entering your username & password.
  9. You might want to try a trick that eggbeast posted re updating retail-DVD installs of A2/CO to 1.63 without downloading the whole 20GB from the Steaming-pile-of. Be sure to backup all the game files & folders (including those in AppData, etc.) - everything except mods. Back up all the Steam files (if it isn't up to date). Backup the registry for insurance (I use tweaking.com's registry backup daily, plus before & after installing/uninstalling any program in case something goes wrong). Hope this works for you Kind regards Orc
  10. Sorry to be a PITA but it seems 4shared now requires downloads to be done via one of several social networks, which I avoid like Yersina pestis. Would you be kind enough to upload it somewhere like mediafire or dropbox? In any event, thank you for sharing your builds with the community.
  11. +1 That's very useful Phronk, thank you for sharing the code. Gonna be hugely easier to fake det-cord clearing an area of trees than actually making a det-cord addon :)

    Middle East Conflict mod

Thanks, buddy. I didn't know that existed, very useful as I don't have the b/w to keep up with CUP developments - I'll be waiting until it's more or less finished before downloading.
  13. I agree with Das - it's a serious exploit in the engine. It isn't the only bugged animation as repeatedly hitting the 'deploy bipod' command has been shown to submerge the player into the terrain (by Das, IIRC). As for the AI walking through locked doors & other objects, that is something BIS really needs to fix as well, unless they don't care if serious gameplay becomes largely restricted to PvP. I don't see how scripting or a mod can fix something deep in the engine (though I hope I'm wrong).
  14. Thanks, Nemesis. I have OFP (ArmaX boxed set) but haven't actually played it - I must give it a go & see how it worked.
  15. So is the download link to the latest version in your previous post :P
  16. Precisely. As an exclusively SP player I want to be able to add ACE3's outstanding features and functionality to official and user missions without some 'compulsory' component breaking the mission or otherwise making it unplayable. I think the way the ACE team are implementing this project is excellent.

    How to do animation sequences?

Good post, Ranwer, thank you. Saved in my Scrapbook for future reference. Cheers Orc
  18. Very useful for SP as well - thank you, Terox :)
  19. You don't indicate what area of "scripting" you want to explore - mission building? Making mods or addons? MadBilly's links are all great resources but perhaps not that useful for a complete beginner - you need a basic knowledge to use those resources well. For mission building, there are some very useful guides; have a look at Mr Murray's guide http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=4847 That link is for the English version, also available from Armaholic in German. Written for Arma 1, very useful for A2/CO and most of it is still relevant to A3. Although there are new commands that will not be covered, it gives a coherent overview of the editing process. MacScottie has posted a set of video tutorials on basic mission building http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?148594-ArmA-3-Editor-Tutorials-Building-Simple-Missions Sproyd has posted a PDF guide to basic A3 mission building: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?148594-ArmA-3-Editor-Tutorials-Building-Simple-Missions Mikie boy has published an excellent introduction to A3 scripting: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?154047-Arma-3-Scripting-Tutorial-For-Noobs Taurus has published a great introduction to basic SQF scripting. While written for A2/CO and hence will not cover developments specific to A3, it does an excellent job of explaining how to understand SQF syntax and structures: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9220 There will likely be issues with some or all of the A3 guides as BIS keeps changing things/adding new commands (not a complaint, just an observation), so some example scripts/missions may be broken and will need debugging. Terox has posted a fine tutorial on debugging (you will definitely need something like this :) ) http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?176096-Zeu-Debugging-Tutorial-amp-Foundation-Template The BI Wiki, Armaholic, and OFPEC have various tutorials on building missions, terrains, vehicles, weapons, etc. I suggest that you choose what area most interests you and read the relevant tutorials. The editing sections of the A3 and A2 forums also have a wealth of information, however use an external search engine like DuckDuckGo, grobe.it or IXquick rather than the more limited internal forum search.
  20. Your ticket requests that the step-over animation be removed, which IMO would make a complete mess of navigating low obstacles like dry-stone walls, ARMCO at roadsides, etc. It would be akin to having an AI driver in control of one's movements. Das' ticket asks BIS to fix the underlying problem(s). EDIT: I've just seen that you closed Das' ticket as a duplicate. It isn't.
  21. The Welsh copied the idea for a place name...
  22. Done :) I don't play MP so not personally affected; just hate hearing about MP games being wrecked by cheaters.
  23. Excellent developments, tpw :) PS already voted "up" on the ticket.
