The idea behind it is quite simple. DestrType of the building class is tent. The building class has eventhandler killed which places a model of ruins on the exact position of the building. -

PowerServer & OFPMonitor: Multiplayer without Gamespy
RozekPoland replied to poweruser's topic in MULTIPLAYER
Because of pivotal priority change I would like to make an important announcement related to the PFC's masterserver. We (PFC - Polish Flashpoint Community) decided to close our masterserver. We are proud we could support OFP/CWA community with functionality of live server browsing (that is in use by OFPMonitor) for over 30 months. -
Pictures created by Shernas, edited by RozekPoland 15 years ago, on 22th of June, 2001, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis was released. Since that time some interesting events have taken place. The series is now titled ARMA and has been sold in over 10 million copies. OFP was re-released as Arma: Cold War Assault on its 10th anniversary. In May (effectively in June), 2014, GameSpy servers were closed that caused multiplayer browser for OFP/CWA and hundreds of other games to stop working. Eventually, Poweruser overcame the issue with his Powerserver and OFPMonitor. Polish Flashpoint Community (PFC) supports the community with its community masterserver. In January, 2015, an open letter on further CWA support was started. On April Fools' Day, 2015, Kondor released his showcase of OFP/CWA in internet browser (using HTML5). There was a significant flooding on Nogova recently A year ago I shared with you a collection of the best pictures I gathered from all the OFP Photography threads. This year I would like to share it again but in a bit different way. I prepared the best of the best pictures from that gallery. What is more, I uploaded it on a different hosting server (Imgur) which is way more user-friendly than the one I used a year ago. Thanks to BIForum engine you can easily browse them from here :) http://imgur.com/a/Fy0v6

Picture by Acecombat. Edited by RozekPoland. 14 years ago, on 22th of June, 2001, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis was released. Taking this opportunity I would like to share with you something special. It took me a lot of time and energy to get it to a shape it is but I am sure you gonna like it. For this occasion I prepared a gallery of the best pictures that have ever been posted in OFP photography threads. I went through 5 such threads that consist of 2000 pages so it was an enormous amount of work. Unfortunately, not all pictures were available (about 20-30% were dead) so I was trying to trace them by links or names in other sources. Some of them were found that way. When it was done I had to select the best ones. My goal was to represent variety of addons and mods from different themes and eras. Finally, there are around 700 pictures in the gallery. The gallery is a great overview of the content that has been created for this game since it was released. I am not able to list all authors of the pictures included in the gallery. There are over 200 pictures created by Shernas and around 20 pictures created by Parvus. The rest of the gallery consists of pictures created by many BIForum users. All in all, the gallery is addressed to this awesome community and BIstudio :) The gallery is hosted on Photobucket which allows to view the content in two ways: Slideshow or Story. If you have more time you would probably prefer to use Slideshow as it allows you to see pictures one by one. If you just want to have a quick overview of the whole content, it is recommended to use Story mode. You can also download the whole gallery from here (you have to be registered on Photobucket to be able to do so!). HotKeyMod (HKM) - announcement
RozekPoland replied to RozekPoland's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Most of HKM features work with 1.96 as well. However, some features (elements of INTERACT) use CWA 1.99 command find. The worst scenario is that there would be two separate versions of HKM (1.96 and 1.99). The point is to make one version that would be supported by both games. I will look what can be done about it ;) -
What does it do? HKM allows you to bind User Actions to a specific key on your keyboard. You are able to bind switching weapons (primary, secondary, handgun etc.), switching seats in vehicles and many other actions to any key of your choice. How does it work? Enter Mission Editor Place HKM Game Logic When in-game press APP (Application) button to activate HKM Menu In HKM Menu you are able to change hotkeys on-the-fly. Your settings are stored in a file. HKM can also be activated through eventhandlers. What can i do with it? In the latest HKM experimental build you are able to bind: ON FOOT: Primary Weapon Secondary Weapon Hand Gun Hand Grenade Throw (Satchel Charge, Mine) Heal Holster Weapon Interact IN VEHICLE: Switch to Driver Seat Switch to Gunner Seat Switch to Commander Seat Switch to Back Seat (Cargo) Manual Fire Auto Hover Eject/Get Out Open/Close Hatch COMMON: Touch Off Most of the actions listed above are obvious but one of them is special. INTERACT is an action that combines a number of actions into one key. Its functionality is based on player distance to interactive objects. In the latest experimental build INTERACT key allows to: Get into vehicle Open/Close door Climb ladder Up/Down Other specific action is HEAL. It does not use any scripts. It is based on hardcoded action unit action ["HEAL"]. It is possible to be executed by every unit (the healing animation is played) but it works only for medic. There is no possibility to make it excluded for everyone besides medics. Anyway, it does not interfere with the game mechanics and does not brake the game schematics (AI medic units do heal themselves). Switching seats is next great feature of HKM. You are able to switch seats in a vehicle even when it is moving! This possibility introduces noticeable immersion improvement. Just remind yourself how many times you were trapped in a vehicle which lost its driver or gunner (or both) because of ongoing firefight. Now, thanks to HKM, you are not a prisoner of a trapped-car anymore! HKM is work-in-progress. On the TO-DO list: Mods compatibility Restrictions for switching seats (for some vehicles) Expanding INTERACTION Switching vehicle weapons In fact HKM is in a very early stage of development however current results shows what can be achieved with Fwatch. Thanks to Kegetys who created it over 11 years ago and Faguss' constant and fierce development, we have possibilities which a few years ago were considered to be miles away. Not to mention that Switching Weapons was introduced into ARMA3 barely 3 months ago! :P First version of HKM will be released when it will be considered to be ready.

It seems to be clearer know why the situation about this patch is so unusual. According to the latest ARMA3 SITREP Jan Kunt (nickname Johny), who was Bohemia's liaision to Steam, left the office. He also was the author of the news about the latest CWA patch on Steam linked in the first post.
-
Well, it's been a few days since the release (that showed up on Steam on Tuesday) and there hasn't been any changelog for the patch nor the official thread about it on BIforums. Maybe it's because of some BI party that is noted in the latest ARMA3 sitrep? The official news says: What we can get from the news is that there is Aspect Ratio function added. The new setting is available from ColdWarPreferences. You can select proper aspect ratio for your display. However, it doesn't work. Whatever aspect ratio you select, it doesn't matter, it is not going to work. The reason is that the values responsible for aspect ratio function are put in wrong place. Originally they are stored in UserInfo.cfg file that can be found in your profile folder (Users/YourProfile). ColdWarPreferences puts them in UserInfo.cfg but in a wrong folder (just in User folder). The outcome is that this new function doesn't work. Huge dissappointment because it is obvious that this patch was not tested before the release. What is more disappointing is that the added Aspect Ratio function is way worse than the community solution such as Faguss' OFP Aspect Ratio which is much more advanced and satisfying comparing to the one introduced in the latest patch.

the picture created by Serg Sapper It has been over 13 years since OFP was published and over 3 years since ARMA:CWA release. CWA's release on Steam was a good start for something better that could be accomplished. Unfortunately, the creators did not have it in mind. OFP, the legendary game with enormous modbase and fanbase, was simply abandoned for further editions. That is absolutely understandable and natural for every game and company behind it. However, releasing the game in 2011 without introducing the most basic fixes is not what many hardcore fans would expect. The new version itself introduced new problems/bugs and scattered already tiny community. Not to mention the mess with patches and hotfixes for non-steam edition. It is not clear which is which even now. Steam platform allows to introduce fixes way easier than it used to be. However, this possibility has not been used. The chance for a great revival of this game was lost. What is more, the latest months showed that permanent things - like GameSpy - are not persistent. ARMA2 and 3 were saved by BIS' patches. OFP/CWA multiplayer community survived thanks to Poweruser's huge efforts and PFC support. BIS' solution - master.bistudio.com - is useless for CWA. It is just an example that the fanbase can provide better walkaround. Since GameSpy shutdown many potential players have considered this game dead. They have no idea about community solutions and they seem not to care. Even if some of them try, downloading an external program does not encourage them to do so. Lack of CWA's support for such a basic thing like widescreen aspect ratio makes it even worse. There are just two basic things which would at least save this game for some longer time. They have already been done by the fanbase. I strongly believe that introducing them in an official patch will provide positive hit for current die-hard fans and any other potential players. 1. Introduce a fix for a problem the game has with Windows 8/8.1/10. 1.1. Black bar at the top of the screen ---> here 2. Introduce an alternative masterserver into the in-game server browser. 2.1. Introduce a new masterserver that is managed by Bohemia Interactive (like master.bistudio.com); if not then 2.2 2.2. Introduce the community masterserver as default masterserver (if the license allows for that); if not then 2.3 2.3. Introduce a new entry for alternative masterserver address in the in-game server browser. ---> already possible thanks to FWATCH; a video is here 3. Introduce aspect ratio for modern resolutions (16:9 and 16:10). ---> already possible thanks to OFP Aspect Ratio; a video is here Obviously, there are more issues that should be considered to be fixed. I picked these three as top-priority because of their critical impact on in-game experience and immersion. Other issues that should be looked at are in the spoiler. Do not consider me a dreamer. I am totally aware that supporting +/- 15 years old game is close to a nonsense. It has always been up to Bohemia Interactive. I could even post hundreds of posts like this with no effect. I just have a need to do so because I consider this game special. I have been with ARMA series since the very beginning back in 2001 and the memorable demo (see my Join Date? that's not a coincidence). I have been with this series when it had its ups and downs. It is because I consider Bohemia Interactive as a group of people who are passionate about what they do. It is not only a job. I believe it is something more for many of the employees. Otherwise, they would not provide next editions of the game, they would not support the community and they would not create this forum. This is why I am writing it here right now. As in every open letter, I encourage everyone who feel passionate about this game as much as me to support this topic by any means they consider it appropriate. You can spread it to your friends who used to play it or still do. You can share it on your website, blog, forum, facebook, twitter and any other social network you use. The point is to make it visible to the creators of this game. To make them think: "Damn, there are some people who still play it?". Yes, there are :)

Can't add my server to OFP_Monitor servers list
RozekPoland replied to Doktor Headshot's topic in MULTIPLAYER
First of all, if your server is not reachable by -connect parameter it will probably not be visible in OFPMonitor either. The port forwarding for 2302/3/4 is a way to go. If your server is reachable, you can try to report it to the masterserver. If you would like some further assistance provide me your IP address (by private message) so I can take a look at it on the masterserver end. -
