i'm interested too in a timer shown on screen, running when a trigger is TRUE and stopping if trigger gets FALSE. -

can you explain a bit more please? in my situation i need to start the timer with a trigger, and keep it running until that trigger is true, but if it gets false, it should stop. thanks -

Another idea can be this : At any press of wasd keys, detect if player is dead, if yes open the EGSpectator. Not sure if its performance efficient... -

sometimes ago i posted about a "ARMA3 fix DLC ". Thats exactly why. They keep adding "splendid " ( i hate that word now ) new eye-candy things, while the game core is totally broken. There are mods far, far, far , far more advanced, working perfectly, but seems they cannot fix even the most basic things (like attach explosives to objects/vehicles , for example ). News about Carrier DLC made me smile...to my RL friends that day i predicted another unbelivable gameplay failure DLC. (like matksman bipods. Oh god how much hate for bipods ). But seriously...a gun with silencer still make its flash light from the muzze at night. What do you expect from this guys ? To cut it short : its ARMA....there is everything, but nothing works properly ! -

I got an idea to try solve the problem in a different way : If there is a code-efficient way to detect if EGSpectator is closed and player is dead, every 5 seconds or so....reopen EGSpectator! (It must have a delay to allow select wnd click on respawn button ) Side question....any way to force respawn of player as soon as a respawn is avaible ? Thx ! (I mean a sort of auto-click so even of a player is distract his character will respawn and not lose respawn wave ) Thanks ! -

hi guys, i really need the spectator for my mission, but sadly it does not work (its blocked looking the ground, no way to move it). seems that with "respawn on custom position" there's no way to make it work. to be accurate, it works when i join the mission and i never died, but after the first death, no way to move it, it get s stuck looking hte ground! please help ! thanks ! EDIT: all this on dedicated server. with editor MP it works. EDIT: seems that "select respawn position" option makes a huge difference. with it (and i need it) spectator camera does NOT works (get stuck looking ground), and sadly with it disabled camera works fine, but also player respawn even without a respawn point !! madness... and i obviously want player stay dead as spectator camera.... any help is really appreciated! thanks !

AI keeps respawning even without respawn marker!

hello! i have a situation where i need to create a respawn marker, make all players and A.I. respawn, then delete the marker, so no more respawn are allowed. it works on players, but A.I. bots (all playable units) keep respawning also without a marker!! please help me stop this madness !! thanks ! -

update on the situation.... tickets does not worked....but i found a solution by creating a respawn marker (named: respawn_west_1) then deleting it after some time (again with script). it keeps getting created when round is over, and deleted 30 seconds later....not the best solution but it works! now i got a new problem, seems that the bot keeps respawning also without respawn marker...but thats ap roblem for another topic! -
hello guys ! i searched all the forums and googled a lot, but still cannot find a solution to a very simple problem: i need to respawn players and A.I. on command (trigger or script). the goal is to have a sort of 1-life round (where if you die you go spectator), but when objective is achieved, all must respawn (both friendly and enemys, both players and A.I.) ...i tried "respawn in waves" but its not working like this.....any idea how achieve this ? thanks guys !!

good questions. i share my own point of view... ARMA3 is still unique, and offers some things that really no other games do. BUT to be honest, still has major problems, that could be fixed easily, but for some reason BIS dont want to. for this reason the community try yo fix this essential features by itself, in fact splitting the community. join a MP server its a pain for me, because you have to download and enable the exact combination of mods for each server, plus each server has its own gameplay features, in fact making each server a sort of "total conversion". must say that if you play always on the same server, this problem does not exist, as you will have just 1 configuration and gameplay. to cut it short....if you hope for a solid game like battlefield, better look away, but if you have patience to overcome the many problems that arma3 still has, and are not scared to play alone or with few friends on few "favourite" servers, well this sandbox will still give some good times! PS: to not split community i tried to make a script collection, so server users can run it as vanilla but with enahnced features! here's the link:

hi, after the latest patch, some nets on the map started to look all black. some others get black if shooted. here a video of the (nosense) problem: ....really ridicolous....every patch, more bug (on already existing and good-working things) hope someone know how fix this, because BIS will for sure ignore this problem as always. PS: i'm pretty sure my specs are not really the point, because it was working perfectly before the latest patch, anyway: i5 4444, 12 gb ram, nvidia 660ti 2gb, win7 ultimate, no mods or changes ecc. town was "Girna" in Stratis.

"all files succesfully validated". i tried anyway, and you right, if i shot 1 single bullet to the lower metallic part , it gets black, i didnt noticed at first! tried also changind texture to "high", and also other settings like antialiasing ecc...

...a friend of mine has this problem too...i suspect its UPNP missing on router in his case...but if it was working for you in the past...cant be it. -

....heh with words its always easy. i did it for real, and (for an inexperienced scripter with not much time to waste re-inventing the wheel) it took way more, and still main problem is that its not "standard". every server will not have attach explosives, logistic (move a simple sandbag is still not possible), drag/push an object or a soldier ecc... its a shame that infantry gameplay its the weakest point of the entire ARMA series. here's the topic about my axed features:

Haha....maybe they are massing resources to finally fix immensely complex features like attach explosives to vehicles/objects or add the incredible ability to push a vehicle and drag a soldier !

tried now....the method works perfectly.....but for some unclear reason allowDamage returns an error! i tried and retryed, readed biki infos about allowDamage, all seems ok but the editor returns an error, and in fact it does take damage! mah !
