I do agree that the Gendarmerie needs some love. I'm really surprised BI didn't include a Gendarmerie Helo in Apex. -

A polite reminder from our rules: 10) Do not dig up old threads Threads older than 4 months should not be dug up unless something significant is being added. If in doubt as to what is "significant", contact a moderator and they will give you their opinion. As always old threads will remain open or be closed at the moderator's discretion. Thread Starter may contact a moderator to have this thread re-opened. -
Post moved to a more appropriate location as it was not an addon/mod discussion. Also, not to be pedantic, but is incorrect. VBS is made by https://www.bisimulations.com/ not https://www.bohemia.net/ . They became 2 distinct companies long ago.

FallujahMedic -FM- replied to SwzzyGetzBzzy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Whilst it is unfortunate that you have encountered a "bug" in the game, it does not justify your comments towards the devs. Contrary to popular belief, they are working hard to ensure that users have a positive gaming experience. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you to familiarise yourself with our community guidelines and rules, in particular: Offensive content, flaming, privacy: Material that is overly sexual, graphic, obscene, racist, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted on these forums. Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, abuse or slander, towards developers, staff or users, is strictly prohibited; this includes the Personal Message service, do not post private messages or user pictures. What version? -
@zukov I recently has a conversation with a few individuals from BI and my complaint was the stiffness of Arma. By stiffness, I mean the "clunkiness", the "inflexibility" of it. I mentioned "Simple" things like environment interactions... climbing, digging, picking up sticks and stones (to build a shelter or bivouac). As it stands, there is very little in terms of interacting with the environment. If you've ever played far cry, you'll understand what I'm about to mention.. In arma, when you brush past a bush, you hear nothing different. In Farcry, when you do the same, you hear the rustling of the leaves. In Arma, you can walk through cactus without being injured. Its little things like that which could be improved. There are elements of DayZ which could be incorporated as well. Breakdowns of vehicles, injuries caused by walking over uneven ground, et cetera. To put this into context with ease of use, I will mention Modules such as those found within mods such as RHS and Ryans Zombies and Demons. In the RHS module, it provides for Paradrop, in Zombies and Demons, it provides for the spawning of enemies. To a competent programmer, these thigs are easily solved via scripting. But for the other 80% of us, a module is what is needed. Arma have an opportunity to make the game more accessible to the "average" player, and I'd like to see them exploit this in future titles. Sono nato a Pozzuoli zukov

è abbastanza buono per noi But couldn't much of what you're describing be solved with better (and more) modules?

[SOLVED]HELP. Arma 3 closing Nvidia Applications, ect(Battleye Issue)
FallujahMedic -FM- replied to _Lio_'s topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
As I mentioned in Discord, Its still a BE issue. Its happening to a lot of other games, not just Arma. https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/476418-battleye-closes-a-bunch-of-programs-when-loading/ https://forum.escapefromtarkov.com/topic/102391-eft-closes-programs-when-i-boot-game/ https://forums.pubg.com/topic/210313-battleye-closing-game-because-of-unrelated-third-party-software/ https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/cx2z0v/battleye_shuts_down_applications_in_the_system/ -

Please have a read of our rules: https://forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/54604-forum-rules/ 9) Do not cross-post Do not post duplicate threads in more than one forum simply to get an answer quicker or to draw more attention to your post. Your other thread has been removed. As for your issue there are a LOT of unanswered questions. Its a lot like saying "my car won't start" without giving any other information like "I don't have a key" or " I haven't put fuel in for 2 months" of "I took the battery out a week ago". PC Specs, OS version, Driver Updates, Arma version and on and on and on. If you don't have a lot of RAM, it may be the system closing tasks to free up RAM. If its a BE issue, it could be a BE issue rather than Arma. -

FallujahMedic -FM- replied to Placebo's topic in OFFTOPIC
I think you make a very valid point and I can appreciate how it may look from the other side. If I may, I'd like to flip the tables and ask, how would you have dealt with it? Personally, I'd have warned ALL involved, hidden their posts and followed the post so that I'd be notified of any new posts to see if the issue continued to happen. Had it continued, I'd have contacted the OP and asked him if was OK to lock it until he had updates, thus preventing others from commenting on it. But, alas, I've been busy with RL work. Good or bad, we are allowed to use personal judgement on how initial actions should be taken. Secondary actions, initiated through a medium such as this thread, allow us to review and tweak these actions as necessary. As for my next steps, they will be to discuss this with Dedmen and R0adki11 (and possibly one other moderator) to review the thread's status. Thanks I'd have DM'd you EO, but you have messages disabled.. And your two letter screen name is untaggable -

Converting from GTA.. to Arma?
FallujahMedic -FM- replied to Rarri3's topic in ARMA 3 - MODELLING - (O2)
Welcome! I recognise that you've stated that you "have permission from the source". Its at this point that I'd like to bring your attention to Rule #19 on this forum, it states: I sincerely hope that you are being open an honest regarding formal permission on this matter. This then brings us to "is it permitted to port from GTA to other games?". Rockstar and mods have been a delicate issue as of late. As such, It would behoove you to contact (and receive permission from) Rockstar games on this matter before proceeding. -
Arma 3 Photography : Questions and Comments
FallujahMedic -FM- replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
And to clarify even more, being "Publicly available" does not indicate that a mod is "legal" or "legit". The Steam Workshop (as well as other mod platforms) contains a lot of ripped/stolen content. -
Mod use when there's no EULA
FallujahMedic -FM- replied to b3lx's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS - CONFIGS & SCRIPTING
You're welcome. You have posed some very good examples, however, I would still seek permission from the original author. Whilst I cannot speak for any of the mod makers here, I can give a few real world examples (not mods per se) where some of the examples (or extrapolations thereof) given, have had activities curtailed. A certain Luxury automaker prohibits its products from being displayed in a negative light (gaudy colours, extremely dirty, damaged, etc.). Another automaker allowed one of its vehicles to be depicted in a racing title, so long as it did not incur damage (again, tarnishing the image of its product). A certain well known company who now owns an equally well known space opera franchise.. forbids any likenesses or verbiage that can be confused with their product. Some authors (rightly or wrongly) prohibit mods from being used on "life servers", some prohibit re-textures, others prohibit the extracting of their PBOs. Again, rightly or wrongly, authors may assert their rights as they see fit and as they believe them to be. Once again, though, it brings us back to no license/EULA, which defaults to the most restrictive. I'm glad you tagged PuFu into this though as he is far more knowledgeable (from a personal and practical (Arma Modding) perspective). -
