As someone who played the OFP demo and rushed out on the day of release to buy it and every game since then ARMA3 makes me sad.

CH+ & Sa Matra's Wasteland in the ARMA 3 engine would be a reason for me to buy DayZ. I'd get the content and avoid the community, high-fives all round! -
The game is not enjoyable as a single player experience, the AI spoil it completely, dozens of issues have been raised regarding it, I think one developer works on it occasionally. The development build forum shows rare updates that do little to fix the problems. I don't think BIS care, they're counting their DayZ money.

So DayZ makes five million dollars already, what chance BIS can make a 64bit exe for dayz/arma3 and my computer can be used to it's full potential? -
Do you not think 50% accuracy is too high, which is compounded by the AI's likelihood of seeing you first, real armies would love to have soldiers hitting their target first time 50% of the time, it's not realistic.

I reloaded from the last checkpoint and it worked. Played on until I met some survivors and we were moving through the forest to the south, got killed by the depressingly unrealistic AI and now I'm off to bed. So far, so good, shame the AI is bullshit. -

In the opening mission we go through the checkpoint and see a destroyed vehicle and exit our own, radio chatter says 'We lost contact with Kamino, can you confirm', the AI passenger remains motionless in the road. No clue what I do next but I assume something scripted never happened. -

So, where do we stand on seeing this fix in the game? Are BIS considering patching? It's hard to fathom why they wouldst want to make their game look better. -
100 times this!!! You are engaged by an enemy and move to flank, you step out from behind a building to engage them from outside their FOV in a firefight and then they snap aim to you and shoot you in the head. Possibly the most annoying AI problem in the game.

All in ARMA is done by one {awesome} guy but BIS cant? Come on guys, unofficial support leaves mission and mod makers in limbo. Take some time to bring them over properly, or pay .kju for his work and make it official! [edit] just to be clear, I don't mean upgrade anything such as making weapons support attachments, I just mean make the game not crash with a combination of A2 and A3 stuff playing together, have the attachment boxes turn red if you've got an A2 weapon for example, and have A2 vehicles obey the same physics as A3, I'm not saying it'd be easy just that it'd be worth it for the community

I'm trying to get the most out of the games engine while maintaining a reasonable frame-rate. Currently I have the following launch options: -noSplash -nologs -noPause -cpuCount=12 -exThreads=7 -maxMem=2047 -maxvram=2047 -world=empty I have also edited the ARMA3.cfg to change the following variables which you cannot change in-game: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; tripleBuffering=1; I find my game looks nicer and runs smoother, with less noticble framerate dips during action or quick camera pans. What I want to know is: Will changing the profile .cfg values for terrainGrid=#; shadowZDistance=#; beyond their maximum (3.125 & 200) have any effect? & What does sceneComplexity=#; do and if it can go beyond it's current 1000000? -

Major performance drop from todays patch, was getting 30/40fps yesterday, now 17/24. 64bit Win 7. 3930k, 32gb ram, two 6970's in Crossfire with latest Beta drivers.

Just watched the latest DayZ dev blog video and can't help but sulk, ARMA 3 could use some of the features like item degradation, weapon modification and locational damage. But instead DayZ got it's own retail release and no doubt took some developers with it that could of been working on ARMA :( -

I am bracing myself for a critical mauling as, while the island is beautiful and many aspects of the gameplay has been improved, when you play missions you are constantly confronted by the flaws of the artificial intelligence. There's no getting around the fact they are idiot savants, one minute they're blissfully unaware of your presence or driving while under the influence the next they're accurately shooting you in the head from 300+ metres away before you've even seen them. If they're fans of the series they may forgive BIS for some of ARMA's idiosyncrasies but people new to the game may well sorely abuse the games lack of polish. I can see low scores which will hurt sales and thus BIS's ability to improve the experience. I can't help but feel some aspects of the game should have been given priority but were not at the expense of others the community doesn't care about. -

I love you guys for allowing it, but it'd be super-ultra-awesome if you could make backward comparability part of a game instead of a mod. Think, for people who didn't own the older games there'd be an incentive to buy them, meaning more money to spend on beer! ... and development. -
I was pretty miffed when they stopped me using 100rd magazines in my MXC, no logical reason for the restriction apart from the magazine not being the correct length on the model :(

Is ARMA 3 a little light on content in comparison with ARMA 2 on release? Yes. But I'd argue the engine has undergone far more changes than ARMA 2 had over ARMA 1 and the engine needed the work it has had done to it. For me, I'd love to see official support for the content of ARMA 2 and it's expansions in ARMA 3 as a matter of priority. It's been hinted at by several Dev's and Mod's on these forums, a firm date for their support would resolve content issues for a majority of the fan base and allow BIS to develop new content at their leisure. I love playing around in All in ARMA but official support would guarantee stability and stop patches breaking content thus freeing up mission and mod makers to use the content without fear of having their work go unused. Come on BIS, you know you want to!
