    United States Air Force( 2015)

Aye aye. I think I am all set here. This sort of stuff from the devs has just made it so unreasonable to talk about anything that I'm at the point of "uh, why bother". I wasn't asking for a timeline, nothing of the sort, I HAVE, however, been asking for a yes or no if this was gonna be fixed, and in reality this isn't an unreasonable request. It's been an issue, for a super duper long time, and if asking 10 times gets me chastised instead of something to look forward to then so be it. I should think it would have been much easier to, any one of those 10 times, just say "hey, we'll get to it at some point", but there isn't even that. I have seen new cockpit stuff for the -60, seems kinda backawards to me to update a broken mod, but I guess that's why I am a consumer and not a producer.....it's been a year and a half and two USAF mod updates that I've been asking about whether this was going to be addressed, so I ask you: who is really the unreasonable party here? Give me another warning and delete my post if that's how the BiStudios moderators want to handle it, but I am all set rolling over on an issue that I have been asking ABOUT, not FOR, for quite a while, and I am positive that I am not the only one who is curious. ~S

    F-14 Tomcat Series Standalone

That's without a doubt the awesomest carrier to ever leave port lol.....
  3. http:// The Air Combat Command and 7th Special Forces Group are looking for mature helicopter pilots for co-op action. Focus will be on transport & logistic type missions and CSAR in the event of downed aircraft. CAS missions in attack helicopters may come further down the road provided we have the pilots to support missions of that nature, but for now strictly T&L / CSAR. Requirements as follows: - Legal copy of Arma 3 - TS3 with working mic set up for "push to talk" - Must not be afraid of mods - we host our own repository on Arma3Synch with around 30G worth of mods. - Skilled or trainable - Mature......I cannot stress this enough. There will be no no one under 18 accepted for flying, and there is absolutely a maturity limit. Training for pilots: - BCT, which is really a formal way of saying "we want to make sure you can survive on the ground, use ACE advanced medical, and won't frag anyone". - Basic flight TRA designed to see how you do, then tailor it to areas you need help in the most. Members have two weeks to complete both parts of Basic or will be dropped from our roster. Additionally, once basic flight has been wrapped up you will be working closely with me on more advanced type stuff in transports. There will be some copilot time, and once trained up we will be switching duties on and off, PAC (pilot at controls) one mission, PIC (Pilot In Command) the next. Come to comms and ask for Aaron, Blur, Spencer, or Gunfighter. Lastly, this is not a recruiting pitch for the 7th, however, the below TS addy will get you to them!! TS3: ts.7thsfg.us ACC Website: http://aircombatcommand.us/ I can also be reached here via PM and on steam: [ACC] Gunfighter - http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198217536800/ Looking forward to hearing from you!! ~S

Is the HH-60 soon going to be usable? My para unit has been waiting patiently for any news concerning getting the HH-60G usable for anything other than flying around looking cool. ~S

    [MELB] Mission Enhanced Little Bird

I was under the impression that MELB would remain standalone so that updates hit quicker as RHS would not probably release an update to their huge mod file for a single a/c bug fix.

    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

My friend has all up to date mods, ACE3 CBA and RHS (US and Russian). All of the compatibility files were copied into RHS correctly. the server host is running ACEX and has the same mods updated. My friend tries to join the server and get's this msg: "You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. rhs_c_a2port_car" Any clues? ~S

  11. I have a full CH Fighterstick USB set up: stick, throttles, rudder. They work really well in this game, but you'll pay about $120 per unit. It's a bit spendy, but it has lasted me for over 6 years, it has always been plug n play for me for set up, making it super duper easy. It's simple enough to use on this sim, but good enough that I have no issues with it in DCS. I mainly fly helicopters and I constantly get compliments about how smooth my flying is......for $350-ish that I'm in for total it was and remains a good purchase. Throw in the TrackIR and it's unbeatable for the money when you compare it all to any of the top end sticks - I have all three axis, but you'll pay over $300 for just a Warthog or Saitek stick and throttle. The only drawback is that CH makes you spend the money on pedals...no twisty stick!! Honestly if you play other flight games it's a good way to go for the money, very relaistic, immersive, etc.....CH Products, where's my advertising check?? A word on the above j/s - I used a similar one for about 5 years playing IL2, and it was a good stick for me back then. I was just getting into computer flying, and IL2 was a pretty good game back in 2003 when I picked it up. I can't imagine why you would NEED anything better than that little dude in a game like Arma 3 if that's the only flying you will do. ~S
  12. Yup. I have a fine picture of me making a beautiful carrier pass, nose high, 3 wire, perfect......except at 110KPH lol. Just silly......

MC, Sorry to hear about your friends, that is very unfortunate. Thoughts and prayers from Norfolk. ~Rob
  14. I have it set to one of the hats on my throttle......however......it doesn't stay open. I put it on a hat near my thumb, and it works out fine for how I hold the throttle, I'm kinda lazy / light touch guy, and since the airbrake doesn't stay open on it's own I had it so I can keep pressure on that hat for my whole landing approach. Kinda sucks. I had asked about it a while back when I started flying the F-14, if it were something that could be added to the menu and have it stay open. Never got a response back, and that's not a slam on Fir as I know he is ultra super busy, so I just assumed that it was probably going to be something that is more of a game limitation anyways. FYI, in real life some planes have it set to either be open or closed. Others, like on the A-10 I recently was told, have a button or whatever, and you hold it to open the boards so far then release and they stay, like you can control how open they are. ~S

    Project - Vertical Lift 2035

And my original point is that bigger blades need less revolutions to produce the same results. Reference wind farm generators vs your lawn mower......Sorry!!
  17. Yes!!! Looks great! Being a helicopter nerd I loved the FOB set ups. Any chance you could post a pic of the airfield? ~S

    Project - Vertical Lift 2035

I'm no modder, but Unsung does have the pusher/puller Cessna, and one of the C-130's has a close enough prop to this. I bet you could get it!!
  19. I was indeed talking about the real attitude indicator in this mod. One of the A-10's does not have a working attitude indicator, I don't remember which as I fly helicopters, more or less. I remember seeing it on another thread, maybe the USAF modpack. My comment was, to be certain, not aimed at you Sarge. ~S

    Project - Vertical Lift 2035

Couldn't you just change the blades and tips to be like those on the NH-90? Also, isn't much of the noise in helicopters more from main rotor turbulence slapping tail rotor turbulance than anything else, hence a fenestron tail vs open tail rotor in some designs? Lastly, if you have two rotor systems mounted on identical sized shafts and run at the same shaft rpm then the blade tips on the bigger system would make less revolutions than those on the smaller one, which by your theory would also reduce noise. You are never going to eliminate rotor noise in anything with a rotor. You can still hear "stealth" helicopters, much like you can still hear electric weed eaters....... ~S
  21. Or the attitude indicator?
