jpinard 10 Posted June 27, 2010 I can't get my download to even start...
jpinard 10 Posted June 27, 2010 I'm pretty frustrated so far. 12 hours later I'm finally seeing a United States server but it keeps disconnecting instantly (using the Sprocket downloader). My question is: If I download it via the European or Czech servers will the game be messed up as its localized for those areas? ie. the wrong language? Otherwise I'm going to skip the failing US server and use one of those. Thanks.
Fox '09 14 Posted June 27, 2010 I had no problem switching servers, I switched back after it started downloading , and it continued on the US server. I had to do this for every file.
Baron von Beer 0 Posted June 27, 2010 Its loaded pretty heavy. Problem I'm having, at least when starting "Setup04.bin" on the US server, is : Bad MD5 checksum after 409600 KB! Stopped, deleted the parital file, restarted, same thing. At that point it goes into a loop backtracking a few megs, hitting that point, rinse and repeat. HOPEnSPIRIT 10 Posted June 27, 2010 Brief Feedback: Website - slow File Downloader Download - slow 400bs - 4kbs Actual Download - struggled to connect, watch tv, it connected and my internet was at max speed, went to bed, in morning download finish and now installed. Overall Comments: I expected the website to be slow or dead there isn't a computer on the planet that can handle all us hungry fans wanting to get some. Once the download had connect it had very good speed through out. 10/
Killerwatt 0 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) I keep getting broken downloads and decided to try the downloader and went to bed. When I got up today, it had downloaded sprocket.exe. But when I click on that it says product is already downloaded? What can I do? Edit: Doh! I hadnt realised that it had downloaded the files into my documents folder. installing now! all seems ok but I will leave this post up in case anyone else makes the same mistake. Not really a mistake on your part...The sprocket downloader is the recommended method, but seems to be having a bit of trouble for a few people. A manual install appears to sort the issue out for most...http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1660338&postcount=
Baron von Beer 0 Posted June 27, 2010 At 3am the load was heavy, I woke up today and my download was complete. Wish I could say the same. I woke up, and once more, it was stuck on setup04.bin, right at 409,600kb, with a loooong list of the same, 409,600 bad checksum error in the downloader log. I have stopped, deleted the partial, and restarted at least a dozen times, on all nationality servers, same deal. Started the whole thing over, and same thing. No clue how to get passed that part of the file.

Baron von Beer 0 Posted June 27, 2010 I got a message the download was completed when I woke up but the program failed. Where is this downloader program saving the file to? On win 7 at least, it put mine in Documents\Sprocket.
jpinard 10 Posted June 27, 2010 On win 7 at least, it put mine in Documents\Sprocket. Thanks, my folder only has 6.93 Gig of data. Is it supposed to be more like 9 Gig?
Killerwatt 0 Posted June 27, 2010 Thanks, my folder only has 6.93 Gig of data. Is it supposed to be more like 9 Gig? 6.93 Gig is the same as mine. Just double click on the setup exe in the sprocket folder and it should do all the rest for you.
SnR 1 Posted June 27, 2010 What bin file contains this file, as i would like to d/l again without doing the whole lot
Defunkt 431 Posted June 27, 2010 We could do with having someone with a working download posting the correct MD5's for each file so we can check them ourselves. The downloader appears to get or create MD5's but I'm not sure how you'd then end up with a CRC error like SnR's. If anybody would like to do this for us, Microsoft's MD5 tool can be downloaded from HERE.
Placebo 29 Posted June 27, 2010 Here's an MD5 for all of the files: http://solidfiles.com/d/67b0/ Use quickpar to verify files if nothing else installed: http://www.quickpar.org.uk/ Files to verify can be found in: C:\Users\*yourname*\Documents\Sprocket If Vista/Win7
Defunkt 431 Posted June 27, 2010 Here's an MD5 for all of the files: Thanks very much, so far mine checkout.
Baron von Beer 0 Posted June 27, 2010 Thanks for putting that up Placebo. I manually downloaded all the files and got a CRC error, according to quickpar #4 is damaged, same the downloader choked on. Trying another manual download from the Euro mirror... This has been frustrating to say the least.
nzjono 10 Posted June 28, 2010 It might be easier and take load off their servers if they put out a torrent? [sCu] Spanky_nz
