I've just had one of the best moments in Arma2 I've had thus far. I've not played the game for about 4 months as I wasn't enjoying it. It felt sluggish and I had a particular mouse lag issue with the right mouse button. Talking to a mate at work got me antsy to play again so I updated ACE and downloaded DAC and made a quick mission to mess about in. Still had the mouse lag.

Then I happened to look at my key bindings and saw the right mouse button was bound to 3 or 4 different things although with 1 x, 2 x and hold. I disabled all but bringing up the optics and BANG. instantaneous as you'd expect. With that one stupid little thing fixed, I totally enjoyed as firefight which lasted about 15 minutes in the forest of Podagorsk.

Just wanted to share that with you, and (show my stupidity)

Thats how I play.I set Rmouse/hold to bring up optic and I never zoom.I find I like the look of game better then the jumping view zoom all the time.Just the little it zooms is fine though I do wish it did just a tad bit more.Like 1/4 what full zoom gives.

I also like that there is less LOD changes and stutter from that though I still get it with scopes.

I have optics bound to V, guess im just strange like that.

Anyway, there is a 'smoothing' option in the controls menu that can remove mouse lag if you put it lower. But Putting render frames ahead(nVidia)/Flip queue Size(ATI) on 1 and forcing vsync of in my driver settings removed mouse lag for me.

Yeah it is, and the 0 on the number pad. To say the truth I prefer the old OFP controls more but I cant be bothered to change the controls in ArmA 2, there is so much of them lol :laugh:

Interesting you should mention that. Is this where when you pressed the RMB the game would freeze for a split second? I have had a similar issue on and off since arma2 was released. I have had it with my joystick and the TAB "Next target" control. When pressing the game would pause for a second. I thought it was some thing to do with being in the air with very high View Distance and the "Next target" command cause some script lag when there are lots of units. I don't know, some times its there some times its not.

However, I have recently been trying the island Namalysk(sp?), and it is really bad when playing Domination on that map. And this is on the ground in tanks or on foot. When I press the RMB the game freezes for a second, same happens when pressing tab. Its very odd. Some others on the same server confirmed they also had the issue. Although, it wasn't constant. It would come and go.

I will check my key assignments, but imo this is very weird. I mean, I dont get this on the ground on Duala or Chernarus.

Anyone else experienced this with Namalysk or in other Arma2 situations?
