Is there a mod to enable screen recoil effect?

When we shoot in the game using a m16 or AK, the gun has recoil effect. But in real life, most people will press the back of a rifle against the shoulder to get better stability. So some of the gun recoil effect will pass to our shoulder which results in a tiny 'full screen' recoil effect ---- tiny screen shake. If we stand beside a M109, the huge recoil effect will almost push you down to the ground. In the game this can be simulated as huge screen shake.

So, Is there a mod to enable screen recoil effect?

If not, hope some moder can make one. :-)

the head shake when running in first person view is enough to give me a headache. Maybe someone can apply the headshake from running to weapon firing.

have fun with that :|

it is NOT possible to simulate horizontal recoil in 1st person view as it is, without changing animations afaik

There is no need to change animation if we want to make things easier. Someone writes a script which runs automaticlly at mission start to detect weapon firing and do the screen shake for human player only,especially in SP mode, big or small. That would be enough at present.

I think SLX mod has very small, but noticeable "screen movement" or shake when you shoot.

Older tanks perhaps but the more modern tanks are the less they would suffer from recoil since they engineered them to have stabilized cannons, most MBT's today in fact have very little to no recoil as far as the main gun is concerned.

I read somewhere that when firing some of the larger tank main weapons it feels as though a small car crashed into the tank at high speed.The main barrels have recoil reducing systems yes but dam if the tank doesn't shake.

I am slowly becoming a tanker and find myself just mapping all over Chenarus with them.The TRSM tacked vehicles sound mod just brings them to life.That said they really should have more realism brought to them.

Things like older tanks with recoil from hell and modern tanks with sight stabilization optics.I would love to have ability of tracks to fall off from overdriving them but that seems like it would be impossible to model though I would love it!!!Then there is gearing,give us 4 forward/2 reverse gears.Speed controlled by inertia so weight of tank and angle of climb decent becomes factor.I can hit 80 in an M1 and slow to a crawl as soon as incline gets steeper.

I would also love to see position specific commands for different tank positions.Make jumping into the tank driver keyboard layout different compared to gunner,commander.....So now buttons that worked for giving orders efficiently when in commander seat now function totally differently.

Example is W key.

Commander=Turn to this heading

Driver=Gas

Gunner=Optics magnification in.

A/D are steering when in driver position but become turret left and right when in gunner position(coupled with the mouse it gives fast easy turns to new heading with main weapon).

I was fighting in a tank last night and I was just lost.There are no ways to really make it as enjoyable as it could be.Forgot the vehicle name I was in but it was missing the tank icon showing direction of turret.....now how the heck we supposed to fight like that.I was doing the FORWARD FORWARD and going in reverse full speed taking out small shacks and whatnot.:eek:

i think you are looking for a MBT Simulation. But Yes i agree, Tank fighting could be really improved in Arma. Please BIS bring the old Shift+R Feature for commanders back, so that I havent to go through the Action menu to select HE Rounds

Most vehicles in this game got the short straw, but to give them credit the tanks are a step above the battlefield games and other generic fps of the day.

I would personally love to see more realism added to them..right now you can charge full speed no matter the land mass, never worry about flipping or throwing out the tracks and you can't climb a hill to save your life, the ability to climb terrain alone would make them so much better...

Nice that OA will include laser rangefinders though along with the 360 radar and finally show the status with the visual direction of all crew members..but this should be reserved for a separate topic specificly about tracked vehicles :).

I have high hopes for PR:Arma and feel they will bring some realism to tanks.They were asking on their boards if giving gears to tanks is going to far.Here's to hope!

Please come back to the 'full screen shake' topic. It seems the topic changed to better simulation of tanks. Although 'screen shake' can be part of it.

For slx mod, I tried it. But I have not found the 'screen shake' function, can someone tell me which file controls the effect?

I think it's ctrl+r now.

ctrl+(button) seem to be the new way to make decisions for an AI gunner.
