barret 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Ok, my stupid bro (and I mean stupid) got angry (like usual) and uninstalled ofp (for the second time). But he also threw away the damn manual (which has the cd key) and I need it! Can any one tell me where to ask for the cd key? I have the box, and the cd, just no cd key! Thanks. Grey Fox 0 Posted April 17, 2002 isn't this more suited for trouble-shooting? Anyway BI studio is more likely to help you than codemasters, probably... Besides getting help your only other real option is buying the game... Again. Of course you wouldn't pick that.
advocatexxx 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Would ya quit with the constant "this belongs to that forum... this belongs to this forum" ? When a person has a problem they need urgent answer to they'll post it in the forum that gets the most visitors.
Grey Fox 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Sorry Barret & advocatexxx for my stupid post (No sarcasm intended)
Mike_Beil 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Well. Â Yes, Â Ask BIS, Â But they will Probaly think you warezed it. Â So You will prolly have to buy a new game. ;o)
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Call/e-mail Codemasters and then they will ask you about some details about your original CD and you will have the cd key again.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted April 17, 2002 and talking about Warez and how to get it can get you banned.
LordZach 0 Posted April 17, 2002 all you should have to do is prove you have the retail cd (take a picture or tell them what's on such and such a place etc) you shouldn't have to buy a new one but they could charge you a convienence fee but i think that's only for cds
Major Fubar 0 Posted April 17, 2002 This is the most responses I've ever seen to a CD Key request....usually they are shut down almost straight away for fear that they are warez related. Can you be banned for talking about warez if you are not advocating it or telling people how to do it Ralph? Dude, I'm pretty sure Codemasters would provide you with a new key for free, if you can give them enough details to convince them that you own a legit copy. ALDEGA 0 Posted April 17, 2002 If somebody says "I threw away my manual" it doesn't sound for real, it sounds suspicious. I really can't imagine how you can just throw it away? Especially when you know the cdkey is in it. Either you're stupid (no offense) or you're lying.
LordZach 0 Posted April 17, 2002 in defense of the manual losers it took me a few days to find mine when i wanted to reinstall. cd cases are a lot easier to find (should just rip the page out and put it in the cd case)
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Or you can write the cd key on the cd.

But I agree, writing on the CD in permanent marker (not on the read surface! or on the case is probably a good idea.

Hilandor 1 Posted April 17, 2002 if i remember rightly, the cd has a unique number stamped on the inner circle which when quoted to Bis or Codemasters, will prove its authenticity and therefore they will provide u with a new cd key. topic closed
