New island from ofp internals

Recommended Posts

Just tested it it works!

Quick buzz round in the helicopter stoped at the cliff to jump off wheee! Wicked air man

Two cliffs like that and you have a grand canyon,

rivers, bridges, swamps

And it does it off real world data!

The island itself would be great for tank battles big ones like Desert storm or El alamein

Oh!

smile.gifsmile.gifbiggrin.gif

Now we just have to wait for their p3edit prog

New terrain is awesome. Can see some potential for very long range sniping.

I am an intel analyst in my unit. I am in the ASPS (All Source Product Section)What we do is gather intel from as many sources as possible and then build a map showing likely enemy movements, what they have as far as assets and threats, and where they are. Imagine using VBS (is that what it will be called?) to take satallite photos, or using maps that can be converted into .wrp files then building a "product" that can be used to test our scenarios in a 3d enviroment. Our Bn commander would shit if we could present our briefings in such a format. "Real time" mission planning and briefing. This would also be very good for giving our ground teams an idea of what the terrain is like, where the high speed avenues of approach are, where the good ingress and egress routes are, etc.....

Also: How do you set your view distance?

Its a function of the mission editor. In the init field of any unit on the map, type this: setviewdistance xxxx (the Xs being a number, eg: 2500). I would reccomend about 2500-2750 for most systems, but if you have the hardware dont be afraid to jack it up as much as you can.

There is nothing like using the Bradleys Bushmaster cannon to adjust the paint job on a BMP from 2000 meters... smile.gif

This truly is a great day for OFP and the community. With the release of these tools from OFPInternals i wonder what BIS will do ? By the time they release their's (if ever) they might be too late ;-)
