Accurate Geographical Data to Oahu
m16a2m203 replied to BossOfGames's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : TERRAIN - (Visitor)
Been a long time since I messed with this stuff. Just jumped in some threads to see how things have changed and improved. Way too big of a project to model I think but you could always do it in "miniature†by scaling the data. You can find 1/3 arc second (approx. 10m data) here http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/dem/squareCellGrid/download/3410 for Oahu. I think a more realistic/manageable project could be Midway or Wake - http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/dem/squareCellGrid/download/642 http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/dem/squareCellGrid/download/634 Good thing about using bathymetry would be it's use in upcoming ArmA 3 instead of having a flat bottom like a lot of old maps were made in the beginning. Bad thing with these is that the data does not appear to negate the heights of buildings, trees, etc. that is usually done in some LIDAR applications so you may have to do some minor height editing in order to make the islands look more realistic. ie. non-flat runways, or high points where a structure is located etc. Here's a portion of Wake with a quick overlay from Google in Global Mapper... Good Luck, gren -
Can I install 1.1 or do I have to wait for a Patch for Combined Operations?
-
. Have your guys check profiles as well on user end....
-
Yep I understand but if half of you are working now I would start checking to make sure that the link address matches exactly up (caps, etc.) to the name for the others... maybe they reinstalled, retyped, etc. just a quess.

"cannot load texture \." error message
m16a2m203 replied to nobrainer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Alright, I've been playing around with this for almost 3 hours now and I finally got it to work. For me it went as follows ... I too got the cannot load texture \. message each time I tried to run a quick on-line user mission to test the image. The text would come in just fine but the image never would. I figured the image was good (a .paa file) since it would open up just fine in Texview. So I went looking at permissions, etc. and then it dawned on me ... When I first setup my pages and image I placed them all in a directory called XML. I also used the same capital letters in game under my profile, www.host.com/XML/squad.xml. Again the text worked but the image did not. I found that if I changed the XML to lower case ....xml/squad.xml and also changed it to lower-case in the profile page it worked out just fine. Try simplifying your path and see what happens. GL -
UNA Targets - Realistict target board script
m16a2m203 replied to Walker001's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
May I suggest mutiple targets .... http://www.tngbbs.com/rifle/nra/hp/Section4.html Camp Perry anyone? -
When I did it I dropped it in the back of a HMMWV. I glanced at the rear till the rifle "swirl" symbol appeared and pressed "g". I then clicked on the tripod bag and hit the drop command. It placed it inside till it was time to retrieve it.

In real life it probably weighs close to 100+ pounds plus ammo. I think teamwork is being encouraged and realistic.

I got some help last night on the WB Domination server trying to do the same thing. It works best with two people since you can only hold the tube bag or the tripod bag at once. Second method is to load one in the back of a vehicle. Once you get to the ao drop the tripod bag on the ground, pick the tube bag UP and look at the tripod bag on the ground. You should now have the ability to reassemble. Works great. Limited ammo but packs a punch. Also like the Stryker MC.

If I had to quess, that would be exactly what a pirated version of the game would need to install the latest patch? Don't think you are going to find your answer on the official game forum. :popcornsmilie:

I agree, that one is a pain in the rear. It took me about twenty tries before successfuly completing. After the first round realizing how greatly outnumbered I changed up my strategy several times till I found one that worked. Basically I went into one of the "fenced" areas and had half the troops dismounted. Pop what you can over the fence or take the high ground with the sniper riflestowed in the warrior, repair an opfor apc and use it against them, mix it up. Don't forget the engineer can repair the warrior as well. Once i dismantled most of their defenses this way, I finally came out and made a run for the trucks. Edit - I think there is a stinger in the back of the warrior if you don't feel like hitting it with the main cannon.

British Troops DLC released & Official 1.01 Update
m16a2m203 replied to Pauldarrington's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Well I got BAF the first day from Sprocket. No complaints. So far I've bought each version of "OFP" through the years and have enjoyed each one. Will buy the next DLC as well. I sincerely hope BIS stays in the game market. Thank you, m -
