Doors in resistance?

Recommended Posts

I have noticed from all the pictures i have seen none of the buildings have openings, could there be doors in resistance? it would really be a shame if the mansion shown in those pictures was unenterable.

ya know... the things that open and close so you stay all warm and cozy, and so it hopefully keeps the bugs out.

I think I read somewhere in this forum that the screen shots of the buildings of the new islands are not 100% done yet, so only the outsides of the buildings are done, and not the insides yet, and there will be able to get into some if not all buildings.

I hope BIS will spend some effort making those big apartment buildings accessible since otherwise they serve as just eye candy. Then we might see some genuine urban fighting, room to room, street by street...

Hopefully they want spend all their time on good-looking textures and leave buldings close.

Let's hope they'll fix that. It really annoys me from time to time.

Doors in Resistance? Dont bet on it. Also, in OFP you can set your view distance as far as your system can handle, and you want to fight INSIDE??

Unbelievable.

They could improve the clipping a little though

Tex, as you know, wars involve both open outdoors and urban battle. soldiers have to (unwittingly) conduct searches of buildings. and if opponent loves buildings and tries to use it to their advantage, you have to go in and take them out unless you have tanks to blow the buildings into pieces(my favorite action)

Im just saying, considering the size of the buildings in OFP, indoor fighting is just kind of pointless, especially when you have some High Explosives handy...

and also, I dont see it getting any better. you know that big building in the Resistance screens? I dont see any doors on it.

But, I dont let that get me down. I just go for a walk on Everon, hunting rebels, Vietnam style.

I don't think buildings are useless, they make (or should make) good hiding places. However, it is currently quite difficult to shoot from windows, or throw grenades from them.

It also doesn't seem possible to throw a grenade into a window.

(Mister Frag wipes away a tear as he fondly remembers RS/UO...)

You can get a grenade into a window, it just takes a lot of practice. I went into the mission editor and did nothing but hurl grenades at buildings for 10 minutes or so. Most of them just seem to bounce off and explode on the ground (sometimes too close!wink.gif, so it's just a rare happening. But it can be done.

And that's without breaking a pane!
