Disappointed by lack of enterable buildings in towns

Recommended Posts

Having had the chance now to fight in quite a few of the towns around Cheneraus, I feel there should be more buildings we can enter in towns. In Arma1 there where a lot more and they saved my ass countless times in a city fight.

There is something about a lot of houses in a town with shiny/darkened windows you can see into or enter that sap the immersion from a town. It feels like I'm fighting on a movie set or something. Arma didn't have loads, but it had enough to make it feel like you where in a living town. No to mention, more enterable buildings means more strategic possibilities to use.

More Please..

I'm also dissapointed . But that won't change it much. I went back to Sahrani for a few hours of warfare last WE...and suddently had to realize that sahrani has much more usable Buildings per town/city/víllage than Chernarus has.

Well...Chernarus has the better countryside to counter this.

Nothing worse than running for house cover in a fire fight to have no entery when you get there.

Agreed but I don't think it will be changed.

We'll have to wait for mod maps...

yeah, I mean its not exactly top priority or anything, I much rather see better CPU usage and bug fixes first. Just a suggestion. The new Island is great, it is a lot bigger than you would think when you first look at the map. It's also great to get back to country side warfare like in OFP.

A few more buildings that we can enter would be nice. They don't even have to make new ones, just replace some of the static buildings in towns with enterables that are already made. I'd like to see 1 in 5 buildings enterable, I reckon that would be close to Arma1.

I guess it's for the performance so many complains about. With more enterable buildings performance would be even worse since there'd be even more polygons and shadows ;)

There is some thing fundamentally wrong with the buildings in Arma2 with the way the use so much cpu compared to Arma1. If this was fixed we could have many open buildings as in Arma1.

I hope there will be more we can enter, fingers crossed on this one

Could it be more buildings are already enterable, but just no "open doors" yet? That might help explain the CPU while rendering question. Or it might be destructable with alternate entry though a breach tool or something.....Is there a way to check this in one of the mod tools (ie enterebale, but just no open door.)?

I was hoping to see the AI take cover in buildings also. I saw someone posted a script to get it to do this...haven't tried it yet though. It appeared to only work on objects that have mapped position #s...

L8r,

I would wager no, not at all. Already been inside a building with no doors, its quite empty lol.

Yes it´s war on lag, unfortunatly made by eyecandy, on the otherhand look on the models how nice they are and even the commanders anus moving when he is shooting.

It´s a very high price to pay i say, you cant use many things in game, redused viewdistance, redused drawdistance, less units simultaniusly.

What warefare could it even be talkig about, it´s somthing else, i really hope all those graphics maniacs did get what they wanted.

Yes, the ArmA1 graphics were just right for the job, just the effects should be ArmA2. The explosions looked wierd in ArmA1
