More Russian Aircraft

Anyone think there should be more Russian aircraft in ARMA2?

I would like to see Mi-26, Mig-29SMT and An-70 or An-74 for transport etc

I think it would be good because US have Osprey and C-130J

Maybe An-2, Mig-21 for other Fractions and some civillian planes & choppers too.

I agree. I feel that the amount of vehicles/aircraft for both sides is lacking. Where are the BMD's. They include the BTR-90 but not BTR-80A or BMD-4.

In arma the balance of aircraft was not and is not present (((Here and a question... Whether there Will be it in arma2?

yea they gotta have more planes, for the russians, The got like hundreds of aircraft, there should be more then 2,

During the Georgian conflict a Tu-22m was shot down by a SA-12/S-300 SAM site, so its fact that they used bombers in a conflict.

iirc there were like 50 SU-34s in Russian inventory, they are more likely to use SU-24s and Tu-22ms then SU-34.

More planes for US and more AA power for RUS as it looks right now. But the lists might not be complete as we know.

I totally agree that there is serious lack of Russian aircrafts, specially for the geographical location as Chernarus ( as the part of the former USSR as the developers says in their legend ).

su34 as fighter sounds as not logically for that geographical part of the world as UH1. any way, it's up to the developers but I agree with wolfbite, il76 needed for missions such as "urgent help from Russia", for example. su34 wasn't constructed to opposite f22 ( since it's in the game already ), so, at least Mig29 or Su27 needed.

We do not forget, that the multiplayer will be the core in game. Here the main thing balance, as transport aircraft ÐÐ-70 or ÐÐ-72. It is possible still helicopter MI-26.

In game not the main thing a campaign or something else, the main thing a multiplayer.

MIG29 and SU27 are pretty useless in Arma except for eye candy.

Arma is not really good for dogfights, it's made for ground combat and ground support operations (hence why Helos, UAVs and SU25 are a good fit).

A transport aircraft would make 100% more sense.

SU34 is probably there only because the model was already done...

It's not about air superiority but mission design (paradrops, resupply, drug and weapon smuggling...) and MP Balance.

i would prefer czech subsonic planes like

L-159 Alca, L-59 Super Albatros, L-39 Albatros (were used in guerilla warfare) & L-29 Dolphin (were used in numerous warfare) before another superiority supersonic fighter :)

it's use is ideal for CDF and guerilas :) and theirs 'availability' in Caucasus region

Dwarden, I agree on the L-39. It is the PERFECT weapon for the Chedaks AND, they can probably be viewed as the national airplane of the Czech Republic.

It would fit well into the VVS/RuAf, the CDF and the ChDKZ. It can be thought of as a faster, and more agile airplane than the SU-25, albeit with less armour. Two R-60s and a wing full of B-8 rocket pods...

I think the Mil Mi-2 "Hoplite" would fit nicely into this scenario/theatre, very multi-role. Could be military, rebel and Civi/police versions.

As I prefer to play missions for the East/Opfor/(Rusfor in ArmA 2 I guess), a Russian transport aircraft is pretty important to me personally. Using the C-130 in the Russian-sided(read: most) missions I make would feel a tad odd, but I wouldn't want to scrap fun paradrop missions just for accuracy of what countries uses the plane. Rusfor transport plane addons? No way, that way publics can't play it.

I'm very happy with the Rusfor aircraft so far. Yes, the US got much newer stuff, much more, and even an armed UAV as the Russian UAV is unarmed. But the Su-34 flies marvelous, and the Su-25 is just a killer aircraft, think of the A-10 with a lot of vodka, and wings full of S-8's!

But please, if even remotely possible, give us a Russian transport aircraft, just modify the C-130 a little, anything! I'll tattoo the BIS logo on my back if you do it! xD

An225 drops BMD-->BMD rebounces on the ground-->BMD hits the AN225 that recently dropped that BMD--->AN225 goes down and smashes into a tree--->tree still stand like a super-material-mega-pole and the AN225 hangs on it in one piece and burns.

Does this sound familiar? :D
