that GAZ66 is it also the ol' RHS model? kinda looks familiar but then again some parts look different :S its been a looong time smile_o.gif

To dismiss any doubts re Gaz66 -> as far as now it's a pure conversion, no alterations have been made yet. Working on normals and adjustment of textures -> mud splatter here and there, just so it looks fitting to the rest of our stuff

Credits for the GAZ-66 textures got to The Sun, he made them back then for the ( update ) OFP release.

Not sure if its worth it, already has a pretty high polycount and when playing i dont think you will notice it at all.

Haha i think that the G85 team is really focusing on high quality and I dont just mean modelvise but also factwise. Seriously though, I still can't believe the 100% dedication and professionalism of this team.

Oh, and Steve, I'm rethinking the whole "Im not sure I want to work in a modteam" thing wink_o.gif

we are not second RHS mod dedicated to SovietUnion/Russia like some people would like us to be

making 20 different vehicles in 10 version of each vehicle is nonsense

it is not the point to have 1000 vehicles for one side, while mod contains several countries

in mod will be 1-2 GAZ-66 represnting family of cars, not pack of many versions

who would download 2 GB demo than huh.gif nonsense

in my opinion mod already has very big variety

Yes, a couple of truck would be quite enough. Fully agree, but I've seen screenshot with "recovery" Gaz-66 from OFP. So please don't include it in mod!

BIS has Urals, UAZ 469, mod adds : Kraz, Gaz66, Uaz van, BTR70, few T55, T62, few T64, few T72, few T80....

counting vehicles types would take some lines

really a lot of vehicles , for the sake of realism DDR NVA would need IFA... but it is now impossible due to limit of time :]

we must focus on preparing to release , not to countless number of vehicless and nothing finished till A2 game smile_o.gif

mod release was delayed already since our previous plans

GAZ 66 will be :

light transport truck 4x4 closed soft top

hard top radio station vehicle (like SCUD usable for west or rebels-black ops bomb missions)

now we lack of west-side targets to put bombs by specnatz :]

at least now my and other vehicles match each other by colours, textures and finally look like one mod work, not "taken from this, taken from that" smile_o.gif

KrAZ? How many passangers will it carry? As I saw some weeks ago, it could easily carry 30+ men biggrin_o.gif

And as for the targets for spetsnaz... M113(especially)- or Pirahna-based command vehicles would be suitable for that role. More over, they are already made for OFP, no need for making models from scratch. Or some variants of "Honest John" or "Lance" missiles.

I think 16 would be rather small number... KrAZ is very huge and heavy truck biggrin_o.gif So maybe you will increase number of passangers?

Indeed, the first time i stood in front of one i was impressed by its size, really a damn huge truck.

number of proxies increased to 20 in KrAZ but more AI will not pack in this truck model smile_o.gif

BIS AI are well trained strong man models, not poor feeded teenagers :]

This is envisaged, once we are done with the models in question, we will focus on what makes the models be a pinch more 'interesting'. ;]

Hey folks if anyone of you is a capable modeller with focus on Nato vehicles then let me know via PM or mail.

If you have knowledge about textures even better.

Vilas is rather unhappy with the fact that we have so many WP vehicles and not that many NATO counterparts, so especially things like the M-109, or a Illtis for german forces are needed.
