xnodunitx 0 Posted September 16, 2008 A bit small and hard to see, make sure you grab the bottommost link and then (provided it is under 100kb's) click the "image" button, then paste the link and click OK, that will display the image.
SaBrE_UK 0 Posted September 16, 2008 As to the animations, there was no turning (?) animation in first person, so your feet would slide around, but when in third there was, I think there may have been others too. Ah yes, thanks.
Alex72 1 Posted September 21, 2008 I just had to make a quick post here about distant shadows. I too hope more for distant shadows than just seeing some shadows on my arms or whatever when in first person. That would ofcourse add more atmosphere, but tanks and trees etc being just 50 meters away with no shadows looks so...flat. With more distant shadows the whole place will look more "gritty" and realistic. BIS - more shadows please!
NoRailgunner 0 Posted September 21, 2008 Erm do have shadows/sun/light have an influence on AI behavior? Otherwise its "only" nice eyecandy.
Alex72 1 Posted September 22, 2008 Not just eye candy with more distant shadows. If an AI lies by a tree in the trees shadow, we will have harder time seeing that AI. So that plus that the whole game will look more atmospherical is not a bad request.
NoRailgunner 0 Posted September 23, 2008 But what if the AI is able to see + target + shoot you under same conditions? Its nice to have some kind of nice and well working shadows.
Dwarden 1125 Posted September 23, 2008 Erm do have shadows/sun/light have an influence on AI behavior? Otherwise its "only" nice eyecandy. Â Â in ArmA shadows are ignored (non see by AI) ... in ArmA 2 unknown but it fear it will be too performance demanding to do additional checks for that ... but it would be very interesting if i'm wrong
stilpu 0 Posted September 24, 2008 As a matter of fact, I've been scanning ArmA 2 screenshots for distant shadows drawing since they started appearing. While it was conveniently masked in early screenshots, you can see that shadow rendering distance is still the same as in ArmA. Satellite texture makes up a bit for that in forest areas, since it's darker, but that's about it.
