rip31st 98 Posted August 25, 2008 Agamoth is doing a fantastic job! Â He's put several hours into these infantry and I appreciate his efforts! Â MORE NEWS: I'm sure a lot of people lately recognized there has been a recent surge of development in WWII addons for ArmA. Â Some of the equipment you've gotten sneak peaks at in the forums is part of a broader overall picture. Â There are a lot of people hard at work creating items for this WW2 mod that carry a passion for WWII era gameplay. Â I'm really pleased to see so much enthusiasm. Â Things are progressing rapidly. Â With that said. Â You guys have seen the great work of Vilas, Stubblehopper, Agamoth, Faust & Frizy, Enigma & others. Â You'll have to pardon my memory. Â THAT's not even scratching the surface. Â Those are just the main modeler's you may recognize from the forums. Â There's a LOT more people working on it then just that. ALL this awesome work will be included. A lot of the work is not complete yet. Â There is a lot of testing going on and exchange of information. Â Ideas are being shared, missions created and models developed. Â Behind myself I've got a lot of people in my squad working on stuff like splash screens, missions and brain storming ideas. Â We have round-robin discussions on the history books and the stuff were working on. Â Enigma brings to the table his artistic talents as a digital artist. Â He has a studio of seven people that work with him. Â I've got great Beta testers who let me know what all the bugs are...trust me....THEY LET ME KNOW. Â Â A little too much sometimes. Â I might add! There are other people out there working on stuff that I haven't had a chance to talk to yet because of how busy I am. Â Their work will probably see the light of day in this mod as once I get a chance to sit down and talk to them. Basically I just want to say thanks for all the support I have received. Â I appreciate it. Â My PM's are full all the time. Â I get tons of email. Â I apologize to all the people I don't respond to. Â You guys will all get credit for your work when this thing finally gets released. Â It's pretty wild to think that this was once an idea that is now getting closer to reality. rip31st 98 Posted August 25, 2008 The first week of testing is complete. A modest list of issues has been made. Those are being addressed. This week (aug 25th - sept 1st) will be a development week. This weeks goal (for me) will be to come up with a coastal german gun emplacement. Other possibilities include some buildings with defensive positions. The preface for this work. Allied invasion. Also my thoughts include a JU-88 and spitfire coming soon. Battle of Britian comes to mind.
rip31st 98 Posted August 26, 2008 PAK 38 in work: I will probably use this as a separate model in the mod and part of H 667 style bunker model. Probably will have it all done, painted up and have it using it's own ammo by tomorrow along with the bunker.
juliusN 0 Posted August 26, 2008 What about the weapons?Vilas's M1 garand looks a bit ugly and the iron sight wasn't carefully made.(sorry vilas)
rip31st 98 Posted August 26, 2008 I will let him speak for himself. I believe he is currently working on updates for his weapons.
oldy41 61 Posted August 26, 2008 Rip, great work. As sort of a WW2 addict I am very glad these days seeing how this mod (and some others) comes along. However, please please, do not overstretch your agenda, but rather release the mod addon per addon as you go. Remember, most of us have still 'only' Vilas' infantry to play with. So we are eagerly waiting for _any_ WW2 armor, aircrafts, vehicles since ArmA came out... And you would benefit by getting more qualified feedback than just from screenshots... :-) Again, thanks a lot and keep going! A.
Tomahawk1 0 Posted August 26, 2008 i'd say you should make british troops too, cause they were a big part of WWII

Tomahawk1 0 Posted August 26, 2008 is there going to be 20 mm AA guns? if there's going to be some of those, there should be some pushable ones. cause, when allies spotted hostile artillery/AA the axis moved them elsewhere to avoid being hit by a artillery/bomb run. artillery should be movable too. by the way, i apreciate the effort you and others are putting to this. rip31st 98 Posted August 26, 2008 We were talking about the air aspect of Arma and it's view distances. I'm not sure how a AA gun or several of them would affect gameplay. Bombers could always fly very high out of view distance and hit them. OR too many AA guns could make flight miserable for aircraft. My view is I would love to have them. You never know until you make one and test it how it's going to work. So I will make one. I thought about making pushable or hitchable versions of the anti-tank weapons. We will see what people's opinions are about it in testing.
wolfbics 17 Posted August 26, 2008 There's a WWII German flak cannon around somewhere at armaholic, not sure who made it, looks pretty good though. I tried it ages ago when I fiddled around with some missions using vilas WWII stuff, nothing to fire at though other than fly a couple of Camels overhead lol. FriketMonkey 0 Posted August 26, 2008 @wolfbics The canon you are mentioning is the flak 38. Here is the arma.info link to it. http://www.armedassault.info/index.php?cat=addons&id=218 @rip31st I had a question. Do you have a sort of unit list, of units that are already included in the mod. If so would you be so nice to show us this list, because i'm very interested.

I will probably compile a unit list in a couple days. There are a bunch of units in work right now. So I will probably wait until a few of those get done.
