Neat idea for the stream bed - might you share that texture?

It's just a pebbles image I found & spent 15 minutes in PS making it tileable. It's really nothing special smile_o.gif

But, once I've got it as I like it i.e. specular works properly I'll happily share it.

With this and Schmalfelden map based on real world locations, I thinks its the way to go for maps for sure.

Just two questions :

Do ground textures support animations ? Like for the animated water line. This would be nice having an animated stream going downhill.

Can a specular map / UV map be added to animated ground textures ? The idea is having a stream texture with a lot of shinyness.

This is just curiosity, as I don't know the limits of ArmA engine.

I'll get some more piccies up, but they might be of unpopulated areas so bear that in mind smile_o.gif

There are a number of towns, enough to play a small CTI variant if there's no aircraft (the entire map is unsuited for aircraft, airplanes because the map is too small + no airfield, helos are OK apart from in the mountains, which are too high for the helo flight model) but I imagine the map to be more useful for ground troop movements. There is also plenty of wilderness up in the mountains smile_o.gif

Actually, here are some shots of the new tree variants I've made especially for this map. They will be in the form of a separate addon which will go with the map.

Must say wow! dosen't look far off ArmA2! All thats missing is long grass. Whats performance like?

Will Drugs Veg fix work on these models?

That's a good question mrcrash2009, and the great news is that those trees are derived from Durg's trees, not BIS trees. Durg VERY kindly sent me some unbinirised models to work with, so even if the player does not use Durg's fix, the mountain forests will still have the new viewblock properties.

OK, as promised here's a whole crapload of screenies. All populated areas will have appropriate sized & rotated houses, roads, veg & junk, and I'm trying to place as much countryside veg as accurate as I can. The mountains however are just pasted down clumps of forest, for speed.

There's a LOT of work left to do smile_o.gif

The viewdistance was set at 10km. The entire map is only 10km across so I had to be careful not to show any crappy edge-of-map shots biggrin_o.gif

Very nice island, I love the mountains. They do look good ingame. How is the AI reacting to steep slopes and roads in mountains ?

I hated ArmA for his stupid Sahrani Island, also THANKS For this great map i love the setting and the detail.
