Maddmatt 1 Posted April 15, 2008 well, we don't want to make a billion new textures, we just want to add a code bit and have it use an existing texture set which will work for everybody, as BDUs, ACUs, and such all look the same in IR. Just bright skin textures and somewhat darker body cloth textures. Ideally, we'd like to do it without modifing the config, but thats looking unlikely. You will have to modify the config if you want to switch the textures. Using hiddenSelections and the setObjectTexture command are the only way I know that can change the textures on an object in-game. The hiddenSelections need to be set up in the config. And the unit also needs to have it's original texture applied at mission start using setObjectTexture otherwise it will be invisible (AFAIK). Now that wouldn't be very practical. Every unit (including addons) would need to be specially adapted to this. If you found some way to change the textures in-game without having to have every unit, including addons, adapted with config changes (and possible model changes), well then you would have the solution you need for this to work easily. But I don't see how that's possible If you solved that, then the rest would be fairly easy.
dm 9 Posted April 29, 2008 The hiddenSelections need to be set up in the config. More importantly, it needs to be present in the model as well. You can add selections to the config until you're blue in the face, but if they are not present in the model, and were not in the model.cfg at the time of binarizing, then they wont work. Ryujin 0 Posted May 2, 2008 no major news atm, going to go back to focusing on the models personally. The IR is still being worked on and as you may have guessed is a major project with a lot of experimentation involved. All other elements of the project are going smoothly though. Do to the scope of the project its gonna be a little while till the next update.

mr.g-c 6 Posted May 4, 2008 Here;s a bit of news, I'm now working with ACE . So future updates will come through there. The step into the right direction Great to hear that! - Sig[uSMC] was on Tour i guess - Best Regards, Christian
Yeb 0 Posted May 4, 2008 Does that mean your strykers won't be available as stand-alone?
miles teg 1 Posted May 4, 2008 Â That would suck if we never see this Stryker until the ACE mod is finished. Â Alot of mods for OFP sadly never saw the light of day. Â I hope the ACE team lets you release it as a standalone addon. Â The reason is because there are so many US Army addons that I like to pick and choose only the ones that I like and feel go together the best for the missions I have in mind. manzilla 1 Posted May 4, 2008 Although I will definitely use ACE, and it's great this will be part of it, I do hope to see a stand alone someday as well. Until then, I look forward to seeing these in ACE.
Burt 0 Posted May 4, 2008 Those Strykers look awesome, alot better than those plain vanilla ones we got with Arma. Can't wait.
EricJ 760 Posted May 5, 2008 Be nice if you could add a main cannon to it such as GRAW1 and GRAW 2 shows making the stryker look bradley like. The Stryker in GRAW1/2 was the Infantry version with the remote .50, that's all it was.
Shockley 3 Posted May 6, 2008 No worries, this won't sit on the shelf to long. Rough first version http://www.usmc-warriors.org/images/stryker01.jpg
Dr.Rebus 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Wow can't wait for release!
HamishUK 0 Posted May 8, 2008 Aye I too hope the Stryker is released seperately. As much as I am looking forward to ACE a lot of OFP stuff was 'in development hell' and never appeared. Looking superb
Edvri 0 Posted May 28, 2008 any updates on this project??
manzilla 1 Posted May 28, 2008 Wow I never saw that picture Sig [uSMC] posted a few weeks back. Now that's more like it! It's good to see this beast in way I remember it to be. It's always pained me to look at the injustice of the vanilla version. Hopefully it's been taken off the shelf.
Ryujin 0 Posted July 26, 2008 Sorry for not responding for a bit, but yes this little project is alive and well, with help from the friendly folks at ACE the most of the stryker family is being modeled, along with a very nice MGS turret from ryan. But its a pretty serious project for my first ArmA modeling experience lol, so its taking some time to learn the intricacies of LODs and such. It'll also need plenty of scripting and config work to get all that high tech goodness rolling

Take your time, master this shit and get something you are proud to call your own and when it's ready I'll gladly do some serious damage with it. Thanks for the update and take care. kroky 1 Posted October 13, 2008 Didnt they fold into the ACE MOD? or IMW MOD? last thing i heard from IMW mod is that it died a long time ago. probobly ace, if they didnt just give up on that aswell. this is not exactly correct IMW mod merged into ACE mod, they announced this officially on their website. So it's quite possible that, the new strykers are beiing developped for ACE now.
