PROPER_IntroAnims - Instant island intro

Information:

Its a very small addon to remove the demo missions in the main menu.

With default ArmA it takes ages to load the menu once you

come back from the editor. With PROPER_IntroAnims it is instant.

HowTo:

No doc available with the addon (yet).

Just put in some modfolder's addon folder.

i think it won't work via ArmA\addons - it has to be loaded via

modfolder!

Possible improvements:

i didn't get the inheritance work on this one (yet) to make it an

addition and no replacement (like it is right now). help is very

welcome!

its an addition to -empty.

the param only works at startup, but not later.

like go in the editor and switch back to the main menu.

tell me how long it takes on your pc whistle.gif

I had to overwrite "native" IntroAnims with yours, but otherwise works perfecly.

To all those who don't understand what this does:

Once you turn on the game and enter the editor with some island and then going back it won't have to load the whole world before you can do what you want next.

Nice to see so many new fixes to arma from u Q. Lets do this game it what we want it to be.

This disables the islands intro movies/cuts and shows the camera somewhere out in the sea, saves quite a bit of load time so its a keeper here.

A static camera looking at some ground would be a bit better, since there are no fish biggrin_o.gif .

But the default intros shouldnt take that long to load in the first place?

hm thats a bit strange simba.

the addon should do this itself via the "loading logic", as it

contains the "ca\introanmis" as pboprefix and therefore it should

replace the one in ArmA\addons.

how is your modfolder and loading setup`?

there is a speedup for a few different reasons:

~ no loading of additional models and textures

~ no AI logic needs to be loaded

~ (most important) no player logic needs to be loaded

actually i tried to make a black screen with "fadeout", but i didn't

get it to work without a "player" unit whistle.gif
