Halochief89 0 Posted July 31, 2007 I'm asking this because soon my new computer will be arriving and I want to know if I should download it from the link up there or go to a store and buy armed assault?
pepel 0 Posted July 31, 2007 if you search a bit, downloaded versions have problems with updates, with activation... if I were you, I would buy arma in a store regards

SeppSchrot 0 Posted July 31, 2007 I've been reading this forum since ArmA became available via download and if I learned one thing by doing that, it's that I will never buy any software on this way. The genuine ArmA alone can be harassing enough, I wouldn't really want additional issues like asking for a new key because you have patched and waiting 3 days for it, lol. TrunkzJr 0 Posted July 31, 2007 I've had the game since launch via download sprocket. I used up only 1 download, decided to wait till i got my new computer to use the other 2. I got my new computer, tried to download and it didn't work. E-mailed them for a new link, they gave me new link and key and everything i needed, but the download the give me didn't work, so I had to e-mail them again and they gave me a Direct link download. Honestly, i would go out and buy it. You'll spend atleast 5+ hours trying to e-mail/download the game. In that time, you can easily go to the store, and if available you can pick up a copy. King-Six 0 Posted July 31, 2007 i bought my copy at direct 2 drive and have never had even 1 issue with this game other than the 8800 memory problem which is now fixed.
hypno toad 0 Posted August 1, 2007 Since I live in Canada (and apparently no stores have it) I had to download it form the Atari website. If you are going to do that, make sure you have enough space on your C: drive, because it will only allow you to install there. My C: drive is very old, and has under 2 GB of space. So I had to unpack the pre installation file on a different computer, burn them on to a DVD, and then install the pre installation files on the proper drive on this computer, before I was able to install I hate atari with all my heart If you have the chance to buy it at a store, by all means do. If I had learned 1 thing from that experience it would be that: It is always way safer to buy the item from the store.

tharawdeal 0 Posted August 4, 2007 I did the digital download thing from the Atari site and had no problems. The only minor issue was that I had to try a bunch of times to get the activation server to register my game after I had installed it. It could be that something was amiss because I was trying to activate the game so late at night (3-4 am). Other than that, it was easy.
