I dont find a file called arma.profile what is the exact file name pleas

my brother has a steam version of arma and i just put the patch on his game from a flash drive and it works like a charm.. hahah you got all pissed for nothing.

threre are so few games on vietnam. prpbably because we lost that war. only ones i can think of are vietcong 1&2 and a few low budget piece of crap titles. i would love to see a bad ass developer make a long ass vietnam game. at least as long as vietcong was. but not like cod4. the bottom line is yes. and yes. im sure we all would want it. you can never have too many shooting games.

That should be only a support ticket away from being fixed, if you have interest in running the beta patch. With our host, I just send them a ticket asking for it to be added to our control panel, and include a link to download the patch from an official source. An hour or so later and its up and ready to go  no , it was 3 support tickets resulting in a "sorry its a beta patch and we wont install beta patches, you have to wait for it to be official" answer. this is likely the reason. i doubt it is lazy server admins. because anyone playing this patch is going to keep it for just 2 reasons. 1) fog bug is gone. and 2) you can ride motorcycles without radomly dying for no reason. i know im not going back to 1.08 and it sucks that i pay for a server and have to play on somone elses.

its because the hosting company only updates official patches. so i guess we are all waiting on bis to make it official.

i read the post that talked about how much v 1.09's voip is so good. and i just want to make sure that its still possible to disable it. server admins who run public servers may still want to disable it. i know i do. i under stand how voip is a great tool and i agree with it. but not in a public server setting. voip is meant for squads/clans to play with. not a bunch of strangers yaking away the whole time interfering with the games sounds.

just do what i do, play a different game untill its figured out. or deal with its issues. everyone claims to have a fix for this but no fix seems to work for everyone. -maxmem command..doesnt work. -disable pagefile..doesnt work. -drivers being current..they are current. all of them. I forget the other so called fixes, but they dont work either. i did have the most success by disabling the pagefile. i think it went like 3 days or so. then it was back to crashin' like normal. I dont think its nvidias problem as much as it is the developers problem. because other games dont crash from this. arma is the only one.

i'm glad atari is going out of business. it serves them right for putting out crap games. good riddance.

id like to know the answer too, i have 4 gigs of ram, windows xp, and an 8800 gtx with 768 meg. i can run the game on maximum details and maximum view distance for about 10 minutes then it crashes from the now famous 8007000e error. but while it is running there is no chop and no slowdowns at all. yes im running the current drivers for it too, the offical release, no beta drivers. in the past i have tried maxmem 256 768 and even numbers as high as 2048 still crashes. i have determined that the maxmem command does nothing. at least not on my machine. its so depressing playing this game on low details just to keep it running.

no my guess is that it would have to do with radar modes.. like while in air to air mode it cannot lock to surface targets, and while in air to ground mode it cannot fire air to air weapons. but dont quote me on that i just know it isnt possible, just like a-10 thunderbolts dont even have air to air radar modes but in all games they do.

well you can do 1 of a couple of options, i see alot of people recomending the 8800gts. but if you get an 8800, dont buy a gts. get the gtx and be done with it. people dont seem to realize that you are a fool to not buy the best product. even if you dont have enough money to buy the best product, save it untill you do, go pawn some stuff around the house, whatever is needed. because if you dont youll just be buying another card later. spend the 600 bucks now and you wont have to buy another video card. sped 250 and i will guarantee you cash money that within 5 years youll be looking for another card that you already should have bought. it makes me laugh to see people saying buy the gts version the gtx is a superior card. if not the best card on the market..

i am starting to get sick of evolution too..it breaks you down. i was playing on a server for 3 days. had 400+ points built up, and today after work i go to play and, boom! the server had crashed. now im left holding the bag. this makes me feel like saying whats the point. i might as well just go watch the street light at the end of my road.

I play with maximum details and view distance, but i have anti aliasing and aniosphoric filtering disabled.. and post processing low, because i dont like the glow look. i get an occasional unknown crash to desktop once in awhile. if i turn antialiasing and anipsohric filtering on, they crash often. my comp should run this game with everything maxed, but errors prevent it. dont know if its arma or because i have an 8800. I dont seem to have errors like this with other games though. we'll see how airborne does on the 5th.
