These weapons. would look fine in the good old OFP.

They look a bit too simple for ArmA, especially after all those brilliant CS imports and remodeled weapons...

On the other hand, many BIS weapons for ArmA don't look any more complex than the ones above, so I guess it's fine, ur guns will save us some video RAM and CPU power smile_o.gif

I disagree. They look perfect in my opinion. Not overdone on the weathering, yet still have a realistic look to them.

Thank you for the complement, but you're right. I think my modeling/texturing skills are limiting.

I have thought about this a great deal recently because upon release, my work will be under scrutiny for the first time and I’m a little self conscience about it.

Primarily, I want the weapons that I am working on to be true to life with respect to their functionality, first. Looks are a secondary concern of mine. If they look “good enough†in most people book, I’ll be happy.

On the flip side, I tend to think importing loads of weapons from CS by individuals who have far superior texturing skills will result in beautiful looking addons but realism and functionality may be sacrificed, though here’s nothing wrong with this point of view either.

Sickboy has the SCARs There are 20 SCAR models. Here's a preview of that as well as the KAC models I've been working on.

- better rates of fire

- better AI handling for some weapons (like M32)

CameronMcDonald, why, you would prefer something like M1 carabine? wink_o.gif Don't despise the XM8 - it has been cancelled sad_o.gif

And let's just wait and see what the SFs say about their new toy the SCAR.

I've suggested a new series of sounds to use in the pack. The idea is to have only two sounds per ammo type. This operates on the premise that all weapons that fire the same ammo type will sound the same.

Since the weapons pack contains mostly 7.62mm or 5.56mm firing guns, 4 high quality sounds can be utilized. 7.62, 7.62SD, 5.56, 5.56SD, etc...

This will help keep the size of the addon down a bit.

@PSYCHOSIM you can see them in game for yourself soon enough wink_o.gif...

IF & only IF these models were updated, could u plz show the hungry crowd a pic or two of ur mighty M21 silenced, and M14 SOPMOD silenced? Just want to have a look at the size of the silencers u have used...

Small Update:

Most Rifles are nearing completion, a couple of things are still tested and looked into. Not making any promises nor give any possible release dates...

[*] Binarized most models

[*] Optimized most models

[*] Updated and renewed some models

[*] Added M203 to many of the M14 models

[*] SCARs

[*] HK416/417

[*] New Sounds

[*] Updated Weapon Characteristics (Sway, ReloadTime, Dispersion)

[*] New Magazines specific for some rifles, giving more custom characteristics to it

[*] Probably more smile_o.gif

Hopefully see you soon for a release ^^

I think I understand his dislike for them, even though, as he stated, he has no personal experience with them.

But yeah I think I know what he means, attach the idea that <insert SOF unit in here> is about to adopt a certain piece of equipment and suddenly every game is trying to push it, regardless of the fact they aren't really anything special (i.e take the XM8 for example, the ghost recon series pushed that one out forever, but if you look at the XM8 techincally, it's not much more then a reframed H&K G36).

Anyways , I'm all for some well modelled XM8s and SCARs in ArmA, after all variety is the spice of life.

I just like the way they look...

I see it like every gun that fires a 5.56mm in a video game is going to be the same and every one that fires a 7.62mm will also, etc...

Most of the improvements that the SCAR L Standard might have over a "vanilla" M4 is irrelevent in ArmA so its just a matter of taste.

I will say, however, that I like what the SCAR H Standard/ACOG or Sniper variant brings to the table - mid to long range, semi auto 7.62 firepower...no double tap required smile_o.gif

It's most propably the cutest rifle I have ever handled inlove.gif

I also heard about some SOPMOD variations of it...

As it is not much more than a scaled down M14 - would it be possible to add it as a tiny ( rofl.gif )  bonus?

I am really looking forward for the next version as the current one is maybe the pack with the best models I have ever seen.

That is correct. But this version does not, yet.

Check Scubaman3D's reply on pg.8, 5th post(I think, maybe 6th). He's responsible for the HK416 and SCARs(Pictured on pg.8) that are in the full 6thSense Mod.

This thread is a Stand Alone version of the weapons from the Full Mod. Unfortunately, this Weapons Pack doesn't have the HK416/417. This Stand Alone version was released before the HK's, etc appeared in the Full Mod. I could be completely wrong about that though.

Anyways, Sickboy & Crew are currently working on an update, so the HK416/417, SCARs, etc. will be here.

Cool pack so far, but i hope you change the weapon sounds. the sounds in your first pack and in 6th sense Mod for the weapons are bad.
