ColonelSandersLite 0 Posted June 28, 2007 Something I noticed playing with this some more: In normal zoom mode as a person, you can easilly see straight behind you and even a little more than that. Looking at it and what I can see IRL, it's about right when you take into account what I can clearly see with my peripheral vision, assuming I'm willing to pivot my shoulders a little for the look behind. But, if zoomed out mode is supposed to be peripheral, shouldn't that only be possible when using zoomed out mode? It's just a small argument in favor of a *slightly* smaller horizontal FOV, although counter arguments are something I would be greatly interested in . Serclaes 0 Posted June 28, 2007 I tried this modification last night and i must say the experience in CQC is greatly enhanced. My problem is, it may be that it comes from the FDF sound modification, is that i still can't look around as gunner of a humvee. It is quite annoying to scan the close surroundings with the gun as it isn't as quick as the headmovement. More of those improvements!

GAU-8 0 Posted June 28, 2007 i cant get it to work with the command line. since i havent done command line work before...what should it look like EXACTLY , if i go this route..? i tried s ereal different combinations (before and after the "-" etc.etc... OR i tried using it with kegetys launcherv1.11...and i still cant get it to work (im sure it has somethingto do with "where is the mod folder" edit box or whatever. i can get it to start my T-IR. but thats it. again what does it need to say/look like EXACTLY in the very bottom editbox? "C\ATARI\ARMA\@trueview" or what?
ColonelSandersLite 0 Posted June 28, 2007 C:\ATARI\ARMA\arma.exe -nosplash -mod=@TrueView If you're using multiple modfolders together, seperate them with a semi-colon, like this: C:\ATARI\ARMA\arma.exe -nosplash -mod=@TrueView;@ModWarSound
GAU-8 0 Posted June 29, 2007 yes! thx for the info AND.... thx for developing the mod. gets my vote for best "the way it should have been shipped in game " mod of the year!

I wanted to simulate shoulder movement as well, since we can always easily turn our shoulders to see a little more (ex. looking behind when driving a car). I will go back an throughly test this to make it as realistic as possible. Thanks for you input, yes! thx for the info AND....thx for developing the mod. gets my vote for best "the way it should have been shipped in game " mod of the year! NoRailgunner 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Its good for Track-IR users but non Track-IR users won't have adjusted view like you show in video. So its better called "True View for Track IR user".

So its better called "True View for Track IR user". no! i dont have a trackIR and i love this addon! Its really usefull for all players. At least for those who know how to use it. I love to scan horizon even without trackIR. TrackIr are for the "lazzy" hihi (no ofense im joaking), the idea is that even without trackIR you can take much use of this addon. This was the best addon released so far.

The only improvement you get without trackIR is the ability to watch over your shoulders, as far as I've seen. Still, this is very important I think.

I also like the transition to the view of aim when i press "v" key. I also like to scan horizon inside the vehicles.. and with this addon i have have more angle (up, down, sides) its not just the look back thingy.

anthonyl 0 Posted July 1, 2007 HELP!! I tried to install this mod and think I installed it wrongly. Do I take the files out of the folders and copy them into the addon and dta folder? When I do this it overwrites a .bin file and then the game wont work...HELP!!
ColonelSandersLite 0 Posted July 1, 2007 That's what happens when you don't follow the install instructions... If you didn't make backups of the original files, you'll probably have to reinstall the game.
anthonyl 0 Posted July 1, 2007 OK..I have re-installed the game no big deal.... When I read the instructions it says: "Drag / copy / extract the folder "@TrueView" to your ArmA directory (ex. C:Program Files \ ArmA)" This then creates 2 folders in the ARMA directory NOT in the addons folder..should these folders go in the addons folder or just in the ARMA directory. bhaz 0 Posted July 1, 2007 Great addition to ArmA! Now I don't need 3rd person to reverse a vehicle. Quoted from the ArmAAC thread: Quote[/b] ]Also, clients can use non-malicious mods, such as sound mods without fear of being kicked. Question: does this add-on count as a 'non-malicious' mod? Edit: Formatting, grammar, etc.
ColonelSandersLite 0 Posted July 1, 2007 should these folders go in the addons folder or just in the ARMA directory. Just in the arma directory.
Gecko1969 0 Posted July 1, 2007 The instructions say to extract "the folder" NOT "the contents of the folder" in to the ARMA directory. There is a difference. Besides the readme file there is only the @TrueVeiw folder with it's contents.
ColonelSandersLite 0 Posted July 1, 2007 Yes, the path should be c:\atari\arma\@TrueVeiw if you're running the US version.

xxbbcc 6 Posted July 5, 2007 I really like the ability to look around in vehicles, etc., but the zoom changes to the weapons finally made me to get rid of this one. The problem is, that at 1024x768, enemies at 200m+ are not rendered on the screen (not even a single pixel) at the normal zoom level, so using this addon made all weapons useless against anything that's not very close by. Thanks for making it - can you release a version without the weapon-related changes?
gL33k 0 Posted July 5, 2007 The videos below pretty much explain everything. Even though I only show certain weapons and vehicles, the changes apply to everything except....- Optic / Scoped Weapons (I left the default BIS values for those) - Shilka / Vulcan (can’t see past 90 degrees because the back isn’t rendered) *VIDEOS* (I made these videos for people with A.D.D. that don’t want to read words or try the mod out, but it turns out that this is a very effective way to showcase this mod to anybody. Make sure you watch both videos in full (You can spare 10 minutes, can’t you?). There is also a tiny bit of plane action in the second video for you A.D.D.’ers out there. Yes they are. Object detail controls draw distance of people and vehicles. If I recall, low has a cutoff of 200 meters, normal has a cut off of 400 meters, high has a cutoff of 600 meters. These numbers are all at normal zoom levels. The cutoff is scaled by zoom. I repeat, it is not resolution dependent.
