Peav 0 Posted May 11, 2007 EDIT: Just played Evolution and amazingly the Kamov fired rockets at my Hummveee!!!! Gave me a shock as am so used to just ignoring it!!! Now, will it use its cannon on infantry I wonder (oh please oh please! ) ? I got owned by a Kamov last night on Evo Latest running on our server with version 1.07b. It didnt ffar the hmmwv but used the cannon. I bailed, it came back round and shot me. They actually have a purpose now * loads stingers into hmmwv * I have noticed as mentioned that it seems to be using the HardDisk alot more causing pauses and stutters. Noticed this more on the delivery boy SP mission when your truck hits the town just before the pick up. Other than that I have noticed quite an increase in speed. Being able to run at 1440*900 with Very High HDR, mainly high details, with AA off AF on high, shadows normal. Pretty modest system :- 3500 A64 @ 2.65Ghz 2GB Corsair TwinX (480 DDR) Ati X1950Pro AGP 512MB Audigy Etc.. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

NV Drivers 160.03, as expected; texture issues on my 8800 Overall: - Smoother, even at lower fps, the fps is more constant. No Slowdowns - Higher FPS on the same settings as before - Even with AI-Manager test mission on ingame server, 215 units and AI logics running, still a very smooth experience, higher fps too! - New Menu Animations are nice - Multiplayer commands like the createVehicle etc really work correctly now my impression - soldiers have no weapons and they walk like in first monty python comedy series - ministry of silly works No Weapons is an error/incompatibility in one of ur used addons. BroK3n 0 Posted May 11, 2007 Mr Tea is correct. Vilas, with your extensive library of your own addons, that's gonna cause a few problems with new patches since they werent made for future patches. jordan_dj21 0 Posted May 11, 2007 1.07 causes a drop in framerates compared to 1.05. Is this because its a Beta patch and not a normal patch. Will the final 1.07 patch run more smoothly or is this what I should be expecting? I did some FPS tests  playing the exact same mission (in Corazal) 5 times using each version. The average results don't make good reading for me. 1.05 - Average FPS 22 1.07 - Average FPS 17 all settings on normal with PP and blood on low. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
neonblack 0 Posted May 11, 2007 I've been toying around with the beta patch since yesterday, and I've noticed some slightly improved performance. Its still laggy as hell with my ATI Radeon XPRESS 200-series video card on anything other than "low quality" settings, but the patch has helped. And in the mission editor, where you can select a year for the mission, I've noticed it only goes from 1995 to 2009. Umm... Think you can extend that from, say... 1800 to 2100? I dont think you still belong to the "Unkowing" ppl Vilas, so how about you do what any Addon Maker should do in this case: 1. Trace back the Issue 2. Resolve the Issue 3. Be a happy Camper In the time you write all your complain posts, you can easily have found and fixed your problem, but you seem to prefer complaining rather than tracking back and fixing If you need help with it, just ask. It's even highly possible that some of the addons you use are wrongly setup (either your own addons, or possibly other peoples custom addons), and then it's possible that they work in older versions but not in newer versions. I remember your complaining about the weapons cfgModels and you were pointing to everywhere (BIS, other addon makers etc. etc.) while you simply configged ur addons improperly urself mate.. My large addon pack for instance (the one that's ~1400mb unpacked, with allllll the cool stuff in), it simply worked, every single version, apart from the bin.pbo that we of coarse need to update when we get a new version (logically). Besides, I hardly think that this is the only thing that prevents OFP addons to be used in ArmA If there is a new class Rifle or whatsoever since v1.05, then that should not interfeir with your Addons... If the class before was called Riffle and is now renamed to Rifle, then it can indeed cause issues for you if your weapons were based on Riffle. The engine would've given an error message if you would include the class correctly like: class Riffle; and not: class Riffle {}; As "class Riffle {};" creates an empty class if the original Riffle class doesnt exist and as such you won't see any Guns anymore indeed, but also no error. Again, if this is the case then this is again an addon configuration fault.. The correct usages were posted by Rastovich in your Units Thread roughly 1 month ago.
