Törni 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I never have fired a SAW, but does the belt really move downward from the chamber towards the ammo box? Or is the in-game animation for some reason moving in wrong direction?
4 IN 1 0 Posted April 4, 2007 the MG is one little bugger that i didnt like about, in another way, they are in terms very good to use with, but its the little thing like same reload anime and config and as standard rifle(big one really, the saw always fire more rapidly when using m16 mags, BI just Fix this plz, its not that hard is it), still the same old Ammo box/belts model even if you using M16 mags(engine limit? plz no...), the jumpy belt anime Törni said, these and some other little thing isnt really bug me after get used to in OFP but do sometime annoying to see in Arma
crazyjockey 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I never have fired a SAW, but does the belt really move downward from the chamber towards the ammo box? Or is the in-game animation for some reason moving in wrong direction? Yep, the animation is going the wrong way. Â The belt feeds from left to right, with the rounds going in on the left and the link and cartridges being ejected on the right. EDIT: I'm not sure if the animation is actually going the wrong way, or whether it just looks like it. I've noticed a similar effect in other games too. smellyjelly 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I always assumed that was just a special effect, similar to the helicopter blades when flying.
4 IN 1 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I always assumed that was just a special effect, similar to the helicopter blades when flying. no, belt feeding is slow enought for your eyes to clearly see the direction of movement

Games have always been a bit funky when it comes to that. Check out Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for a good example.
sirex 0 Posted April 4, 2007 i always thought in games the bullets were just shuffeled right and left to make them look like their moving, and that it gave the impression of them going the wrong way, your saying there's an actual anim that running incorrectly ? frederf 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Easy to test, just run the game at 1% speed using that camera script around here somewhere.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted April 4, 2007 run the game at 1% speed ... On some rigs a.k.a. "look at a tree through a telescopic sight"
memnoch 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I believe this has already been entered on to BTS.
max power 21 Posted April 4, 2007 It's time for Plaintiff1's unfounded speculation corner. I think that that animation is a 2 pose animation (created by alternate models). 1 for the belt as it rests still, and 1 with the belt moved 1/2 bullet's width over. I think that there's no real movement going on, it's just most people see the belt as going in the wrong direction. It's possible that with different frame rates and lighting conditions that the same person would see different things. And that is what I think is going on. Shame its actually animating then, isnt it I can't check atm (not got PC+ArmA at home yet) but I know for sure that its animating (not model swapping, until the gun is empty at least). Whether or not its animating in the correct direction, I can neither confirm nor deny tho.
max power 21 Posted April 4, 2007 No it's not a shame. It's a good thing! This is why I made the speculation in the first place. If you can confirm that it's animating, then I'm much closer to understanding it than I was before I made my speculation.
Metal Heart 0 Posted April 4, 2007 It is actually interpolating from a to b, not just switching between two places. The direction is clearly wrong, if you think it's just your eyes playing tricks on you check it out in slowmo.
Heatseeker 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Its odd that i didnt even notice this... but im problably the only one who noticed that the M249's trigger is missing .
