crazyjockey 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Pretty awesome sounds. Â A few things; 1) The GLA at the very start sounds more like a 'dink' than a 'dunk'. 2) The 84mm rocket sounds a bit empty. Â The sound needs to be much louder and stronger...add some more roar, if you know what I mean. Apart from that, the sounds are great, especially the m249 and the m16/m4. Â I especially love the reverb effect you get (the "tsss" sound you hear travelling down range). It all sounds very real. Now you just need to add the ear-ringing sound, so that after you fire your first shot you can't hear shit for 10 minutes
7 0 Posted April 10, 2007 Good job, but the M14 sound is lacking. Your sounds need more bang, right now it sounds like someone shooting 200 feet away.
450R 1 Posted April 10, 2007 Sounds great, it really adds some meat to the bones of Arma's lackluster sound. I'm not sure how I missed your OFP stuff ... is 2.0 the latest available?
simulacra 0 Posted April 10, 2007 Most sounds are awesome, but it sounds a bit too bassy in the last video imo, are those sounds filtered in the engine?
fireship4 0 Posted April 10, 2007 You said you are trying to make the sounds halfway between near and far, but If you make them sound like they would for the firer, wont the engine handle the sound for people further away - doesnt the engine have more advanced sound now, with bass carrying further? Hello yall, I'm back. Been gone for alittle, and being Mr. Mom. Well I most certainly can one where or what weapon would sound like up close. I guess I can give it a try also
chammy 7 Posted April 12, 2007 I'm not sure how I missed your OFP stuff ... is 2.0 the latest available? Yeah, I had been putting things off since the arrival of my son last the year before, he's been keeping me busy like crazy, but he's my life. Yes, I will release another one for OFP since I do play OFP more than ArmA. I will post one in OFP forums soon.

lVOWSl_EL1 0 Posted April 13, 2007 One comment, one question. Every sound sounds great except the silencer, and maybe the AK-47. Aside from that, from what I have seen and heard, everyone in my clan is really excited about this mod. My question: Do you have an idea when this mod will be released? Keep up the good work! 7 0 Posted April 21, 2007 Bump for great justice! How's it going with the sounds?
chammy 7 Posted April 28, 2007 SO far, its almost complete, I plan to release it before or in May, or sooner, depends on what kind of time I have, mr. Mom here, anyways..... Thanks guys for your 2 cents. I am also working on trying to figure out the config bin so I can just either make both a stand alone sound mod and one you can just replace BI's existing bland sounds. Right now I am trying to pin point some of the sound sources to change the jet engine sounds and correct explosiion and vehicle sounds. Thats where I am trying to figure out the config files so I can turn up some sounds, and re assign some sound samples that are just in the wrong place. What does bump mean? chammy 7 Posted May 17, 2007 Here's a little update on my sound replacement so far, some sounds, Im trying to decide which ones I'm going to stick to or chose to use. There's a clip in there with the Harrier wav changed. I might as well change all the vehicle and aircraft sound also. Although I did change the HUMVEE, BMP's M1A1, the M113 engines and Bus, they are like cars. Plus I added some rumble to the jets. ArmA sound replacement progress. Shashman 0 Posted May 17, 2007 Wow those sounds are great! One comment I'd make though, is that the M16/M4 doesn't sound as 'plastic-tinny' as it should, compared to the PK for insance, but I think all the others are really good! What are your sources? Other games? Combat footage? Films?
chammy 7 Posted May 17, 2007 Well that clip is sorta rough, I havent alot time lately to work on things, but I have been working with Predator supplying him with sound bits and stuff cause I dont know squat about the config files, I am also going to do a different version as well. The PKM, is a bit more percussive like, which is going to be the main thing of the sounds, more percussiveness since that 's what you'd really hear by your ear. Though, with the M16's and AK, the plastic sound, I'm trying to keep that from happening, though, I have many samples that have that sound. I'm fixing to post another clip in a few minutes for the MG's. want to get the publics opinions on them. I do notice something peculiar....from a certain distance when an ak is fired, it plays another sound, and I'm not talking about the EAX performance.
chammy 7 Posted May 17, 2007 What are your sources? Other games? Combat footage? Films? I get most form combat footage, and a few of the samples are from other sound bits that I just will use parts of them or such, but not a whole lot. Alot of the footage is mediocre an I have to clean them up or mix them togther with other samples to get a better clearer sound wave. There were a few sound waves I got from myself using my cam corder , and shit i recorded from the proving grounds. Then most the time If I take souds from a peice of combat footage, i will compare to what I really hear on the range, most the time, some of the footage you see like on youtube is recorded with poor mics of digital recorders, and most the time when dumped onto the net people will convert their files to a smaller sample rate which makes the sound quality crappier, so I dont bother. thanks for the kudos
