Maddmatt 1 Posted March 31, 2007 Do they fix the frame drop that makes ArmA UNPLAYABLE for me?MfG Lee Only way to find out is to try. Other people with your setup seem to be running the game fine. Maybe you have a bad set of drivers for ArmA or something.
dwringer 45 Posted March 31, 2007 I have an 8800 GTS (320mb, evga), and was using the 97.92 drivers that came with the card.... I was getting the abysmal frame rates and texture issues that I see all over the place (missing textures, screwy geometry, little black boxes, i had it all from time to time)... put these on today and have been able to up the detail AND gotten an increase in performance. Plus, I haven't had any of those graphical problems as of yet, although I'll reserve final judgement for a day or two. I will tentatively say that these drivers are vastly improved, just for the fact that I don't need to put shaders or textures on Low anymore. Your mileage may vary , as usual with ArmA... fubarno1 0 Posted April 1, 2007 101.41 drivers actually show the new cards expected from Nvidia in the ini file. Quote[/b] ]NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0400.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS"NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0402.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT" NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0421.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT" NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0422.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS" NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0423.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS" so get your DX10 cards soon hopefully they will have better drivers by then. stephend 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Thanks for the link! These drivers sort out the mouse lag I got when I had postprocessing on, now I can run it with this enabled on my 7900 GS!
Maddmatt 1 Posted April 1, 2007 My 7800GT seems to get a slight performance boost from these drivers .

andersson 285 Posted April 2, 2007 Its difficult for me to say how the new drivers performe compared to the older as I also have changed my 3 hd Raid0 to a 4 hd Raid5... But, when I started arma I put myself at my FPS-test place (a dense forrest). My FPS was ~22 instead of ~29. But then I looked into advanced grafic options and noticed I could crank up AA all the way to 8... So I did that and right now I`m back at ~29FPS, but better grafics! So I`ll keep the drivers! (still foggy though...) AA options before: Disabled Low Normal High Very high 5 AA option now: Disabled Low Normal High Very high 5 6 7 8 C2De6600, 2 gig RAM, GF8800GTS, raid5

dwringer 45 Posted April 3, 2007 well just thought i'd report that the missing textures/geometry corruption/etc is back... kind of worries me, now whenever i see even the slightest anomaly in any other game i get paranoid
Hudson 0 Posted April 3, 2007 After installing these drivers I loose any options for control of my GPU fan. The automatic fan control is gone and my GPU is getting rather hot. I have a 8800 GTX and it ran in the 120s idle with the 97.92 drivers, with these drivers I idle over 150 and hit 170 in no time playing a game. This is sad because the new drivers actually give me quite a boost to my framerate. I dont know if its the new drivers or maybe some tweak tool like rivatuner or nvTrayTool thats disabling the fan control options but I have reverted to 97.92 for the time being. Maddmatt 1 Posted April 3, 2007 I reverted back to 93.71 and they seem to be the best for me. (7800GT).

Claymore 0 Posted November 14, 2007 i got a performance decrease with this(7600gt). and the new control panel sucks edit: 93.71 You should be able to get the OLD controlpanel back with this registry file: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies] "DevPolicies"=dword:00000000 "ModePolicies"=dword:00000000 "ModePersist_GPU:0_Mode:0"=hex:00,00,00,00,40,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 05,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "LutPersistDesktop_GPU:0_Head:0"=hex:00,00,00,00,64,00,00,00,64,00,00,00,64,00,\ 00,00,64,00,00,00,64,00,00,00,64,00,00,00,64,00,00,00,64,00,00,00,64,00,00,\ 00 "LutPersistFSVM_GPU:0"=hex:00,00,00,00,64,00,00,00,47,00,00,00,47,00,00,00,5a,\ 00,00,00,45,00,00,00,45,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001 "CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000001 "TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000001 Save it with notepad as enableoldNV_CP.reg and doubleclick. rowdied 44 Posted November 15, 2007 Try this it is easier You can enable classic control panel even in new drivers (im using 158.22 on XP) by adding to registry: in "HKLM\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies" add DWORD key named "SedonaDisable" and set its value to 2. After that in control panel there will be option to use classic control panel and voila...
