sputnik monroe 102 Posted June 26, 2007 @Rhodite :As I am not a moderator, I can not merge or lock threads. As an individual, I can only suggest my opinion. My opinion is that this subject could/should have been posted into one of the two threads elsewhere. I didn't feel it was a big enough deal to annoy the moderators about and demand you do something about it. So I left it as a msg to the author to request it. Liveleak has tried to rebrand itself from an emphasis on perversion, depravity, brutality, sadism, and obscenity to a youtube clone for nonsense, but it's still ogrish rebranded. IIRC, any links to Ogrish were auto-banned previously due to severely NSFW material widely available there. If you attempt to navigate there now you are immediately forwarded to Liveleak. This is a separate discussion for "Ask a moderator", I was only giving as my opinion that links to liveleak, regardless of how tame the content may be, might not be advisable. @redpride Last time I heard of a case where someone wasn't exercising disciplined gun control (and this was at a controlled gun range) the semi-auto kicked up and fired the 2nd reflex tap directly into the face of a bystander, killing him instantly. Really funny. Dude why waste your own and my time by posting this? I'm sure the moderators are capable of moderating themselves. Maybe use the "report to moderator" button instead? Precisely. Â Regardless of the method taken, it has been reported and brought to your attention. Yet you've failed to do anything about it. Since it appears you endorse and deem liveleak an acceptable site to link and post images and media from could you perhaps provide a full comprehensive list of other snuff sites we may share links and propaganda from on the BI Boards? I hear Islamic Jihad and Hamas have some great websites with candid interviews with "resistance" fighters as well, plus some kick ass snuff films. Â Perhaps we can create a "Snuff Porn" sticky thread in the offtopic forum?
Major Fubar 0 Posted June 26, 2007 Sarcasm won't get something actioned any faster. As we have to remind people until we're blure in the face: this thread is for discussion general rules and moderation. Incident specific questions and comments should be made via PM. Is that simple enough? If we have to, we'll lock this thread if people can't follow such a basicinstruction. Sputnik - we'll discuss this report in private in the moderation forum and get back to you. Just because action isn't taken in 5 minutes does not mean nothing is being done. In regards to removing WL boxes, this is also something that needs to be done via PM - but just because you ask for a reduction, doesn't mean it's going to happen. Removal of warning boxes is entirley dependant on ongoing good behaviour.

Maddmatt 1 Posted June 26, 2007 Is there any way to get a spell check integrated into the boards?Abs Use Mozillla Firefox, it has a spell check feature, that's why my spelling is so perfect Mozilla* LOL....nice catch. Thanks for the answer, Fubar. Abs That word isn't in it's dictionary though, so even when I spell it correctly it gets highlighted as a spelling mistake and it suggests corrections from "Godzilla" to "oscillate". I'm surprised someone noticed that Anyway enough spamming this thread.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted June 28, 2007 So "hypothetically" if someone felt their WL was achieved non deserved (borderline ridiculous even) and said person has been pretty much a model forum member, theres a good chance of said WL being removed? It'd be a sad day to think that these WL's were starting to be handed out for fun or "someones having a bad hair day" kinda thing. Im just asking, this is all hypothetical of course.
W0lle 1051 Posted June 28, 2007 Hypothetical said, that could happen yes. Though I wouldn't go so far saying WLs are handed out just for fun. But like said before, this should be asked and dealt with in PM.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 28, 2007 In case you didn't notice, a poor attempt to use sig or avatar to "make a stand" is not the best thing to do either. Yes, I'm talking about your sig image. consider yourself warned.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted June 28, 2007 I dont make stands. I dont care enough to do that. It was a joke.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 28, 2007 I think the mods need to show some positive sides. Things look a bit negative lately. Oh really? Like letting you spam and "make a stand"? Things are actually better now that we are showing no tolerance for spammers. Are you one of them? Quote[/b] ]It was a joke. Doesn't look like it.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted June 28, 2007 Actually, I think you like to flame bait people. Your doing it now. Then we arent supposed to say anything back. Most of your modding is flamebait.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 28, 2007 Actually, I think you like to flame bait people.Your doing it now. Then we arent supposed to say anything back. Most of your modding is flamebait. ok. consider yourself PRed. 48 hrs. I had enough with your childish attempt to make a stand.
Major Fubar 0 Posted June 28, 2007 This is getting ridiculous - people obviously can't follow instructions not to spam, flame, flamebait or discuss things in this thread that should be handled via PM, so I'm closing it for the next 48 hours. It's a shame that well behaved members should have to suffer for the ignorance of the few, but so be it....
Major Fubar 0 Posted June 30, 2007 Well, it hasn't been quite 48 hours, but I'll reopen this. Next time it needs to be closed, it will probably be closed permanently, and the person or persons who cause that can expect a lengthy ban. It's very simple: - No spam, stay ontopic - No arguing over specific instances - Nothing that should be handled via PM (WL box removal, custom titles etc.)
rundll.exe 12 Posted July 2, 2007 Any news about the idea I posted on the previous page? Seems to got forgotten in the spamming
mr burns 132 Posted July 2, 2007 Additionally to my rants in the original topic i´d like to re-discuss the following matter: During the last weeks, addon release threads threads have been full of posts likeQuote[/b] ]Addon Mirror @ xy So this goes to all addon hosters: Please PM the author that he can edit the new link in the first post and the thread can be used to discuss the addon. Don't post new links in the respective threads. Thank you. Please consider to scrap this rule. It didn´t get enforced anyway lately. Do something
Messiah 2 Posted July 3, 2007 well, you'd hope that the addon creator would see good sense to collate all the mirrors onto his/her first post so to help people download his/her pride and joy that little bit easier/quicker
Major Fubar 0 Posted July 3, 2007 Hey,After seeing more and more threads being stickied, I think one of the following would be good: *increase the number of topics shown in a forum, so its not half sticky half normal. (it should be not more then a third imo) *re-think what should be stickied and what not. The point of this is that I have to click to the 2nd page every time to check for something interesting, and topics in the 2nd page die out quickly to the 3rd.. and then they got forgotten. The first option should be configurable in the board I guess. We discussed this in the moderation forum, and the consenus was that the number of stickies and posts per page are OK for now. Major Fubar 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Do you guys ban accounts listed on ********.com? I just noticed the account 'teaser' listed there, and it's been used before. Now that you've brought it to our attention, we will definitely look into it. Thanks. P.S. I've edited your post slightly to remove the name of the site, just so as not to give people any ideas. Guest Ti0n3r Posted July 9, 2007 Is this kind of bullshit really allowed on the forums? Shouldn't just the fact that the guy is trying to make a monetary profit via the forums get him banned and/or the thread closed? Edit: Pheww
JdB 151 Posted July 9, 2007 Is this kind of bullshit really allowed on the forums? Shouldn't just the fact that the guy is trying to make a monetary profit via the forums get him banned and/or the thread closed? I think the Report this post to a moderator link is more appropriate for this (as I did for that thread), as this is a specific case, rather than a general question regarding the forum
